He smiled and led the way, going into the laundry room and pulling out the ironing board. Odd, it didn't feel as rough as before. Was the thread count different? He took a moment to stare at the familiar design, noticing where the colors were faded because of Daren's habits. Maybe it was just Tim, he hadn't been in this place for over a month. He could have sworn it was made out of a bad quality material though. His poor brain was playing tricks on him. "Yep! Since our company is rather large to begin with we're divided. I'm on team Alpha for the financial department, Andy's on Beta. I know IT also has a Gamma team because we have some technological inept employees." he chuckled, placing the shrit on the table and turning on the iron, waiting for it to heat up before seeing the smile, laughing. "You're more than welcomed to come! I know my parents can't make it because school started up and the other has a meeting about a new project. They're building suburbs off J street. And Jason, well whenever he says he's not busy he ends up busy, so if he comes he comes and if not oh well. But if you're sure you can come that'd make me really happy." at the loud click he grabbed the handle and began ironing, the color decorating the white fabric a green color.

Daren hadn't thought that Tim's mothers might be coming. he dodged a bullet with that one, "then i guess i'm coming. maybe i'll be able to see Jason again, though-" he looked at Tim, a little worried, "are you ok with staying over? i mean, won't jason not be comfortable with you sleeping in the bed of another man?" he didn't want to get in the way of Tim's new relationship.

"Ah, maybe. He helped you too, right? that'd be a great way to thank him." he turned the shirt, ironing the other side now before glancing over at Daren, quickly looking back down. "I'm totally okay with staying over. And I told Jason I'd be hanging out over at a friend's house and to call or text if he needed me. he's fine with it I'm sure." and smiled at Daren, hoping to convince him before finishing the shirt, finding a hanger and hanging it on a hook on the door before going to work on the pants. "Everything will be fine. I get paranoid sleeping alone anyway. I'm sure he understands."

Daren nodded, at least that meant Jason wasn't clingy and Tim wouldn't have to be careful who he talked to when around him. "that's good, i'm glad you two are so stable." he watched Tim press his pants and shook his head, "not for nothing do i never wear suits. they are too much work." he gave Tim a half grin and shrugged, "but they look good on you, so i guess the work is worth it. anything new at work? everyone still babying you?"

"Well, we have to be right? he gets called away at odd hours for his work. How many people would assume he's cheating? Doctor's don't always have organized schedules, and he's a trauma center surgeon so when something bad really happens he gets called in." He finished his pants, carefully folding them and placing them on the hanger as well, finding his green socks from the duffel and ironing those next. "If you think I look good in suits you should see me in the uniform." He'd already shown the uniform to Jason. It was Jason approved. Or it was going to be until a two buses and a sedan got into an accident. Poor sedan. "Hm, we closed another deal with someone in Bolivia. So I get a Christmas bonus this year." The socks were placed on top of the pants before he took out a simple white under shirt, pressing that to the ironing board. "And there's still Andy and occasionally some of the women and sometimes Daniel, but for the most part I'm good. No one babies me or buys me lunch. We got this new salad bar downstairs in the lobby though. Makes all sorts of salads. Teriyaki chicken, they're good. I brought Jason one the other day. I brought him, oh what did I bring him again?" Tim paused, raising the iron and thinking. "Baja... Baja something. Baja... Baja shrimp cobb! He really enjoyed that." and turned the shirt over. "But that's really it. Now that I know Andy is in the Mafia I understand his need to watch me like a protective dog. Chihuaha. Something small and yips a lot." But Tim still would be friends with Andy, it certainly wasn't a bad relationship. "he was really depressed about losing his goo fridge." and laughed.

Daren took everything in, processing the information and he found that he missed listening to other people just talk about normal, everyday things. he'd never been social, but even at work he'd chat with the other officers. he let Tim's voice flow over him and just enjoyed the random information that really wasn't that important by itself, but when strung together, formed a life. "he's definitely an ankle bitter, i see him as the guy standing behind the goons taunting someone." he shook his head at the reminder of that stupid fridge, "i told him it wouldn't work. he was going off about it during a visit and i told him it would break sooner or later and all that would be left was a mess. he stopped talking about it and i didn't think much, but i guess that must have been when it broke. i win."

"Right? That's exactly how I see him! And maybe with a gun and shooting from behind so he doesn't ruin his suit." he chuckled, turning off the iron and hanging up the shirt, looking at his uniform and picking off any pills or cat hairs. He could lint-roll it tomorrow. "Oh? You went to visit him?" Tim looked over and smiled. "You called it. You definitely win. He was so angry and sad. We spent all day cleaning goop off the kitchen floor. We need new tile now, it stained permanently and we've tried bleach. We also had all the windows open to air out the smell but the weather's so cold we couldn't do it for long." he sighed, unplugging the iron and wrapping the iron, putting it away along with the ironing board. "But what else has changed? I'm not skin and bones anymore!" he exclaimed. "I've been eating healthy and exercising and with the self defense course my I'm nearly back to normal. Let me show you." he unbuttoned his shirt quickly with little second thought, though there was an undershirt underneath the dress shirt. The pink shirt was taken off, arms definitely holding muscle it didn't have a month ago, though nothing too bulky, but one could definitely point out the muscle lines. "I've had to work extra hard since I'm mostly a pitcher, but since they don't want to stress me out I'm just a runner." He lifted the shirt, showing off the stomach and part of his chest, the scars from Andrew faint. "See?" he grinned proudly. "I'm pretty much back to normal, minus the medication." he dropped the shirt, moving the pink shirt over his arm. "Muscles everywhere now. I could probably keep up with you now Mr. Basketball." and laughed softly.

Daren looked Tim over and had to admit he looked a lot better than when Daren had left him. "you don't look sickly anymore, that's for sure. i'm glad, you couldn't have gotten any skinnier." he shook his head and pushed off the wall, glad that Tim had put his shirt down. seeing the man with a bit more meat on his bones made him understand why Givens had become so obsessed with him. "i didn't see andy, he visited me, remember? he'd talk about life with you, i think he thought it would make me want to agree to live with you again." he shrugged as he head out of the room, "i didn't leave because i didn't like living with you, but it was nice to have updates on how you were doing. glad you are in defence classes, you need them. maybe i could help you train or something. i do claim a basketball match, though."

The red-head grinned at the comment, leaning against the closet before listening some more, nodding. That was right, Daren had been locked away for over a month. How loyal of Andy to try and get him to stay, Tim was thankful, really. But he quickly followed the officer out, "If you'd like to help me you could. I wish I could have gotten updates on you, though. I was really scared that something had happened. You fell off the face of the planet. But yes, if you'd like to help me train you can."

Daren smiled a bit, "i need to get back my muscles. i worked out as much as i could in there, but there is only so much that you can do inside of a small room. i even would overturn my bed and use it for pull ups or lifting." he chuckled, but rubbed his much smaller shoulders, "unfortunately i've lost a lot of strength. won't be hard to get back, just takes work." he went into the kitchen and got a drink of water, "that and i lost weight because i all but stopped eating. that didn't help much."

Tim looked at Daren a moment before suddenly trying to hold back laughter, snorting and chuckling, biting his lower lip to stay silent. It shouldn't have been funny. It really shouldn't have been. "W-We seem to be on opposite sides now." he said between snickers. It shouldn't have been funny at all. "Nonetheless, we'll work on getting you back to normal. You should have eaten though. Caesar wouldn't have poisoned your food if they wanted me to live with you again." He leaned against Daren before hugging him tight. You do feel pretty skinny."

Daren chuckled, "we kind of are, aren't we?" he placed an arm around Tim and hugged him back, "wasn't hungry. i didn't move around enough to get hungry and i sort of," he shrugged, "well, protested the only way that would be effective, by not eating. he wanted me alive and doing well, i figured if i got weak enough he'd have to let me go...or shove it down my throat." he grinned a little, "but both would be against what he wanted and that was fine with me."

"Really, Daren. You should have eaten. What if he did shove it down your throat?" Tim made a face, "Though I suppose you're right, he wouldn't be so cruel." he stayed under Daren's arm, his own still loosely wrapped around the man's waist. "So we still have an entire evening what do we do now?" It seemed to be normal for them, Tim thought, deciding to take a nap and then that nap lasting some few hours. Considering he stayed at Caesar's til about one, then he was officially at Daren's with bags at 1:45, then they napped and it was like 5pm now. "I think the sun is actually setting. We should go see if we can catch fireflies."

Daren thought about that, "you know, going for a walk in the park sounds like a good idea. i haven't been outside in too long, the fresh air will be nice." he let Tim go and got his keys, "i wonder-" he glanced outside, "we should go and visit the bakery. i know-well, i'm sure they are worried. i promised to call when i got there and they haven't heard anything in nearly a month. i want to let them know i'm ok...though Annie will fuss and Tarte will make us eat. you ok with that?"

Tim's stomach clenched so tight with guilt he was afraid he was going to vomit. He'd completely forgotten about the bakery.Had they wanted to see him? Ask him questions? He shouldn't have felt guilty technically they weren't his friends at all. "I think that'd be a good idea. I'm sure they're very worried about you. I know I was when you seemingly fell off the face of the earth. We should go see them. I'm sure they have plenty of your favorites freshly baked for when you arrive." Tim smiled at Daren. "I'll go fetch our shoes and some jackets, okay?" and walked off to retrieve them. He still wasn't sure if he could walk into a bakery yet... but for the sake of easing that family's mind, a family so thankful for Daren, he'd suffer through it.
