I actually quite liked the air units in SS i dont see whats wrong with them although i never found a use for grey knights anyway. Tyranids as a race are a bad idea i think although if we dont have any bases they will probably be closer to the fluff and i really hope that we dont have only the SM and orks in the game

I think the core units are pretty solid. I didn't really like some of the further-outward units that we were given in the expansions that didn't seem to fit quite well for me.

Heavy Weapon squads for the Imperial Guard were a great move, as were the Flash Gits for the Orks. Khorne Berserkers gave Chaos a nice boost, even if the voices were a little off.
Hopefully this time round the "Killa Kan" will be upgraded to a Deff Dread or failing that, be manned by a Grot as it should.

Relic Dear community, We apologize for the lack of updates on DOW Soulstorm in the last little while. Unfortunately, we have had some complicated technical issues to deal with before we could provide a successful patch, so there has been a delay in rolling this out to you. The planned release is targeted for early July and is currently on schedule. The patch will include fixes for the critical issues (SOB infinite resource, Harlequin bug, DE Observer bug, Necron infinite Monolith bug). Thanks again for your patience. We’ll certainly keep you in the loop on exact release dates as we get closer to the time.

Lt. Brookman Caleidah, the game wont feature base building anymore, just your squads of marines battling foes in scenarios. Only marines? D:

NO. Orks have been confirmed as well. Both of these races get their own single-player and coop campaign of free-style missions. Chaos and Eldar will also most likely be in the game following the same set-up, rest assured.

I have to disagree on the Flash Gitz bit, I hated them; better than most any unit at shooting, overbalanced the Orks in bothing shooting and CC in my opinion.

But, I read an interview on IGN where the developer said that the multiplayer mode WILL include a tech tree. Does that not mean there will be base-building to some extent? Or perhaps a World In Conflict-like way of army-building, at the very least?

Somehow I doubt that they'd do multiplayer in a completely different way from the singleplayer content. Coop has been confirmed and will be the singleplayer thing, but with more players. It might be that before the deathmatch session you pick your forces, give them kit and pit them against other players who do likewise.

It's pretty much the same concept as Endwar.

That's pretty much what they're aiming for.

That sounds neat, but it could lead to powergaming during the inevitable starting balance issues, or excessive use of certain units, unless there's a limit.

DarkElf27 That sounds neat, but it could lead to powergaming during the inevitable starting balance issues, or excessive use of certain units, unless there's a limit. Very true... you could prevent people from fielding an army consisting purely of, say, dreadnoughts by doing like what was done in Medieval Total War II; Whenever someone included more than 4 squads of one squad type, then the price would go up to a point where it almost became ridiculous to pick a 5th squad or more.
