I'm fine with four, I'd rather not have more that 5-6, but I'll be sorely disappointed if it only has two.

[Sanity_is_for_the_Weak] I'm fine with four, I'd rather not have more that 5-6, but I'll be sorely disappointed if it only has two. Am I alone in simply loving having as many races as possible? I mean, I like having as much variety as I can get.

I guess alpha status of the game doesn't say much to you Mykal?

Anyone watch the short and worthless game play montage that ended in a cool Imperium catchphrase? Also: Booty!

"I guess there's always a chance they could make an appearance" What do you supposed that means?

[Sanity_is_for_the_Weak] "I guess there's always a chance they could make an appearance" What do you supposed that means? Either that he's a horrible tease or that they're going to make at least some sort of appearance.

Methinks 50-50, maybe they make a cameo at the end of the game like the Necrons did in Winter Assault, or they wont be in it at all.

Well, if they are in it, it comes down to the simple logistics of things with exactly HOW they would be in the game. The biggest problem that I see arising for them would be their builders. One solution to that as I see it could be something similar to the Zerg from StarCraft and how their buildings spawned out of the Creep. Perhaps once the Tyranids make landfall they have to spread spores or something like that to build.

Trouble is they have no sentience, so how can you grow close to them? Like pets?

Caleidah, the game wont feature base building anymore, just your squads of marines battling foes in scenarios.

A.R.G.U.S Mykal Trouble is they have no sentience, so how can you grow close to them? Like pets? Maybe you can gain certain bio-mods or upgrades such as the lash-whip etc. for your characters. Orrrr you can create your own biomorphs and graft these onto your models, making them your own over time?

I wonder if this means we're going to see the deletion of some units and the addition of others.

Yes they will most likely do that. I know for certain that they are going to start from scratch. Not only because of the new engine but also because hello? A whole new gaming concept is being used for the game, no more base building? More focus on squads of persistent troops throughout the entire campaign? I'm certain some units will go.
For all I care they go back to the basics of a marine force: scouts, tactical marines, assault marines and terminators. Add in the Predator and Dreadnought, done! Sprinkle on top two or three commander units such as the force commander, a librarian and maybe a chaplain and what more do you need? Maybe the Whirlwind to showcase the destructible terrain under fire and if you've been really nice a Land Raider.
As long as they keep air units out of this, they were not meant for Dawn of War. The Grey Knights were an attack on the established fluff anyway, so with them removed from the marines we have a more fluff-correct force.
