The notes cut into Faust's brain like tightening wire. The guitar was played well, but his senses were rebelling by becoming hyper-sensititive. Faust bit his knuckles to keep from crying out loud, and his fingers fished automatically for a drug, any drug, to distract him.

*she sighed and began to sing. she played the basic notes for "The Phantom of The Opera" (all time best musical!) she started to sing "Think of Me"* "Think of me. Think of me fondly when we've said good bye. Remember me once in awhile, please promise me you'll try. When you find that once again you long to take your heart back and be free. If you ever find a moment spare a thoguht for me....."

Eliza had loved "Phantom..." Faust wished that he could enjoy it, but the notes were agony for him to listen to. Was this what Rinkou had gone through? Would this still be in effect tomorrow morning?

"we never said our love was evergreen or as unchanging as the sea, but if you can still remember stop and think of me. think of all the things we've said and seen. don't think about the way things might have been. think of me, think of me waking silent and resigned. imagine me trying too hard to put you from my mind. recall those days, look back on all those times, think of the things we'll never do. there will never be a day when i wont think of you"

This would continue to the morning. Faust was sure of it. That is, if he lived to see the dawn.

Faust had found a rusty nail and dug the point into his wrist. Now that the song was over, the agony in his head was subsiding, and the pain of the nail in his wrist was just a dull ache in comparison.

Faust woke up in the position he'd gone to sleep in, upright in his chair. It was only eight in the morning, but he felt like he'd overslept terribly. Other than a sense of vague but intense paranoia, most of the terror from the night's trip had subsided.

Faust cracked open an instant ice pack and pressed it against his forehead. There were unfamiliar voices outside his door, so he grabbed a scalpel on his way to it just in case he needed to defend himself.
