Her eyes softened for a moment as she heard those words. It was painfully true, but she wasn't going to admit it. Looking away for a moment, she clenched her fist around her glass, trying to regain her composure.
"Compassion is a waste of time." She said to him.

Morgan listened intently to Anysi's words... Compassion wasn't important? She thought. Surely she was joking.

"Compassion is what makes us human. No one can live by themselves, sheltered away from others. Everyone needs someone by their side to help them whenever they need it. Everyone needs help, even the greatest of people." he replied, drinking the last bit of his coffee.
"Teamwork is what we learned best as Mercenaries. Without teamwork, no one's goin' home alive with their salary." he said, laughing a little. "In modern society though, we see Teamwork as 'Friendship'. Life isn't worth living without Teamwork, or in this case, Friends." he said, turning and smiling at her.

"I guess you just made a new firned, huh Zhuke?" Morgan asked, gesturing towards the girl he was conversing with. She smiled, looking out the window at the setting sun.

"Ha, new friend?!" Anysi said laughing aloud at the idea. "No, I don't have any friends, and if you even think that I would make friends that easily you're wrong." She announced, standing up and walking over where the two were. Glaring back and forth between the two, she put her hands on her hips, seraching for the words that would be the boys weakness.
"The only reason you think like that was because you lost someone. Isn't that right? Who was she? A girlfriend perhaps?"

Morgan put her head her hands. This is gonna be good... She thought, looking at Zhuke. She got her notepad back out, doing anything to avoid this conversation.

Zhuke stayed silent for awhile, looking back at the ocean. The moon reflected off the water, giving it a peaceful view.
"...Something like that." he said, his crimson eyes fixed on the ocean and moon horizon. "She was a subordinate, but more of a friend. The closest friend I'll ever have in fact."
His voice and mood started to drop, remembering the moment 'it' happened.
"One day I was assigned on an assassination mission. What I didn't know was who I was assassinating. I was told to kill the target on the pier, where the target would always be at in the evening. It sounded vaguely familiar, but I just did my job." he said, telling a flashback of his past.
"After arriving there, I saw my target and raised my suppressed sniper rifle, aligning the sights with my target's head. Then, I saw the target's head turn, to see it was my subordinate. I was shocked, scared, horrified, whatever you would want to consider it. I couldn't do it. I told her to leave the Mercenary League, as I would. Being a high-ranked Mercenary with a simple task like that would be unacceptable."
"She took a boat and fled to another country, where she would be safe. I did the same, but with a different route. I know they'd be after me, and I wouldn't put her in danger for it."
Zhuke turned and looked at Anysi.
"In fact, I have lost someone important to me. All because of that damn job!" he yelled, smashing his fist into the counter. "But... it was because of that job I met her." he said, regaining his tone and removed his splintered fist from the counter.
"She was like family to me. The only family I had left when my parents were assassinated." he said, his voice dropping low.
He sighed and regained his thoughts from his tragic memories.
"People, subordinates, 'friends', are very important to everyone. But you wouldn't understand." he said, taking a seat down next to Morgan.
("You woulnd't understand at all...") he thought to himself, resting his head on his hands.

Morgan watched his expression; appearantly he was mad. Why the heck would Anysi do that? She thought, glaring straight into Anysi's eyes. Her stare was cold for a minute, then she lightened up a little. She wrote down an equation then slipped the notepad in her pocket.

Lexy looked up at the sky, then back at the two. A smile crossed her face, "You two seem more normal to me than other people." She kept the smile on her face, which made her look like an innocent looking child.

Surprised by Lexy's comment, Cathal nearly shot his drink out of his nose.
"Well...that's a nice thing for you to say there lassy...It's a bit of an incorrect statement, but a very kind thing to say."
He smiled at her, quite happy for the compliment.

Abel just could not help but laugh out loud at Lexy's comment. It was the most original response he had ever heard. He had to commend the girl on her sense of humor it was refreshing.
"Wow that is the first time I have ever been called normal. Freak, murderer, b*****d, monster, the list goes on, but normal, well that is a first. I thank you for saying that, it is rather refreshing to hear something other than the usual drab comments. But I guess it takes the innocence of a child to see people like Cathal and me as normal."

"Yep..." She said, her hair now covering her eyes. Looking at Zhuke, she could tell he was sad. Putting her arm around his shoulder, she whispered, "Those who are lost, just need to be found..."

"My point exactly." Anysi concluded, after hearing what he had to say. "Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. Is that true?" The question wasn't all that sarcastic. In fact, Anysi was rather curious what his reply would be.
She shrugged, not knowing whether she would get a reply or not. "Oh well, I guess my heart has just been turned too cold. Maybe I'm lucky, or maybe you're lucky."
"What do you think, Sin?"

That caught Zhuke's attention fast. His head shot up and his gaze darkened.
"I think you'd be better off not calling me that." he said darkly.
("What's with this girl? No one here should know that, and the only people that call me that are...")
"...but more importantly, what do you know?" he asked, curious on how the mysterious girl knew his alias.

"Umm....I'm going to go get some coffee..." Morgan said, eager to get away from the table. She jumped over the table, landing beside it. After ordering a cup of coffee, she watched Zhuke and Anysi talk from afar.
