Aoi tried again to make her way upwards, though she was having bit of trouble getting her legs to do exactly what she wanted them to do. She heard Alexis saying that the chokers seemed to be able to be used at will and the moment after she heard that she thought of her tail. Her legs flickered with light momentarily and she had her dolphin-like tail again. "I think that I may use my tail for now and then try using my legs in water that's more shallow, so that I can push off the bottom." she said as she swam to the surface of the water; letting the little silver fish out of the pouch as she did so.{{ooc:}}

Alexis chuckled. "I don't blame you, after all, using your tail is second nature to you just as using my legs is the same for me," he said with a chuckle as he surfaced, not really realizing that he and Aoi surfaced with just a couple of feet between them in the same hole.

Aoi smiled at Alexis as she heard him chuckling. "I promise that I'll try learing how to use my legs, though it may take a good bit of time before I can use them the way that they're meant to be. And I can bet it may take some time for you to get entirely used to your new tail. Although that's up to you really." she said, giggling softly. She pulled herself out of the water and touched the choker, causing her to have her legs again and she tried standing, though she fell on her bottom. "Why must you not work like I want you to...?" she grumbled the question to her new legs, while fixing the shorts that had slid down a little.{{ooc:}}

Alexis tilted his head as he helped Aoi to her feet, half supporting her so it was easier to stand. "Don't worry; practice can only help in this case," he said soothingly. "Besides, I've found sometimes it helps to have support, whether from a tree, wall..." he said with a shrug as he glanced away, not realizing he'd done so or that his voice trailed off.

Aoi grumbled to herself as she looked at her legs. "I guess... But I wish that I could use them right now..." she said as she partly leaned against Alexis. She could only guess that since she had been in the water her whole life with a tail that it would take time for her legs to become strong enough to fully support her. Yet she still wanted to be able to use them right that moment. As she listened to Alexis speaking she gave a nod, knowing that she could try walking along the wall of the cavern. Although she first had to get to the wall to be able to use it as support. "I was wondering if I could get a little help to the wall?" she asked politely.{{ooc: I'm sorry that I just up and left like I did yesterday. The internet went out due to bad weather that was coming. And I'm sorry in advance if my posts aren't as good as they could be... My cat just passed away last night and it's hit me really hard...}}

_Hoshiyuri_ OOC - Trust me, I know what that's like; my sister recently lost her dog, and unfortunately where she was the one that found it, I was the one that saw it happen, and it was not pretty... though it isn't the first time I've seen a pet killed. Alexis chuckled, helping her get closer to the wall and not minding it at all. "There are exercises that can strengthen one's legs, though done the way I learned them would require balance which you don't yet have with your legs... I do know how to half support the weight with one hand, though," he said with a half smile.

Aoi was thankful that Alexis was helping her so much and she wondered if there'd be some way to help him at all. "I think that gaining my balance probably would be the smartest thing for me to do right now, or I'll just end up on my rear again," she said chuckling some at the thought. "I could maybe help you learn how to your tail? Although you could probably figure it out pretty easily, since instincts would probably kick in. However, they may not kick in right away if that's not hardwired into your brain to swim with a tail..." she added, her voice trailing off as she started musing to herself.{{ooc: I was there for my cat when he died. Though now I wish that I wouldn't have been, since it wasn't really all that peaceful when he went... I thought he was going to have a seizure or something, since it's happened before.}}

Alexis chuckled softly. "True, and I'll admit I'm strong at using my feet when swimming, but I'm about as skilled with the tail as you are with your legs," he said with amusement.

Aoi giggled some as she listened to Alexis and looked over at him. "I think that we'll get it right soon enough. Once you do I could show you more of the ocean and you could show me around more on land maybe? I mean if you don't want to show me more of the islands and all that it's all right." she said as she looked from Alexis to the wall, wondering if she'd actually be able to balance herself against the wall and whether or not her legs would be strong enough to hold her up right away.{{ooc:}}

Alexis tilted his head thoughtfully. "The funny thing is, I'm almost certain that the sea is actually safer than the land; the sea, you just have to worry about the various wildlife that you can usually see coming if you're careful... the land... not so much; it's likely changed a lot from how I knew it so I don't know how much help I'd be to you other than swimming around the islands and maybe visiting the beaches," he said with a shrug as they reached the wall.

Aoi listened carefully to what Alexis was saying and when she heard him out she replied with, "It's all right. We don't have to go and explore the islands if you don't want to. I was just interested in seeing more of the land, however, if there's a chance of it being more dangerous than the sea.... well I may not really want to see much of it..." She knew that she did want to see the islands; however, she did not want to end up hurt because of her curiosity.{{ooc:}}

Alexis took a deep breath. "We can see them, I don't mind doing that; it's just that I know one of the islands has a bunch of cannibals on it, and sometimes the jungles have wildlife that tend to like meat," he said with a shrug. "I do know there's one beach on one island that's an odd shade of navy blue; I've seen black beaches, gray beaches, and white beaches... I don't know if there are other beaches with odd colored sand," he said with a shrug.

Aoi reached out to the wall so that she'd not be entirely leaning on Alexis. "I think that we should probably avoid that island as much as we can... I wouldn't want to end up someone's food... I don't imagine that you would either...?" she said as she listened to Alexis saying about the island with the navy blue colored sand. "Could we perhaps see that island first? I mean we don't actually need to go on land to see the sand; do we?" she asked, looking at Alexis expectantly.{{ooc:}}

Alexis chuckled as he crouched. "True. Now that I think about it, since it's on the other side of Gin Iruka to the northeast from here... we could use it to get used to working with a tail," he said with a slightly embarrassed look; it felt odd to him to be using the tail, but he was sure with practice it would become easier.

Leaning fully against the wall now, Aoi thought that she was going to fall, however, when she didn't she tried taking a step. "And legs," she said, finishing Alexis' sentence while trying to keep her balance and not tumble to her bottom again. "I hope that I get used to these soon... I really don't want to fall on my bottom again... It's embarrassing... At least it's only you that's seeing me falling on my bottom. Someone else might think that there's something wrong with me if I can't use my legs right." she said as she moved forward a few steps, having to cling to the wall to keep from falling.{{ooc:}}
