Nikolai helplessly looked into Leon's eyes, surprised by the sudden force after what he had been through. But stubborn defiance quickly returned. "I care." he said, bawling up his fists around Leon's shirt. "I wouldn't be able to live with myself if you died, dearie. Seeing you in that fire, so close to death..." He closed his eyes tightly to keep the tears inside, though a few edged around his eyelashes.

Leon Court Leon's eyes softened. "Oh Nikolai...you shouldn't hold this inside you." He kissed Nikolai's temple, cradling the man in his arms. "Darling man, you mean too much for me to risk."

"And you to me," Nikolai mumbled."Which is why I must do something to stop him!" He tried to leave, with Leon protesting or not, but couldn't leave the teacher's grip. Nikolai struggled again before realizing what happened. He willingly crawled into Leon's arms, and now he wouldn't be able to escape. Surprise settled on his face before a mixture of tenderness and anger masked him. "Damn you, dearie." he sighed and rested his forehead against the other's chest.

Leon Court"Yes, and when he wakes, he will come after me again," chuckled the teacher. "Maybe we should get away for a while. How does Spain sound?"

Nikolai grumbled something to himself when his plan was shot down, but his lazy side took over at the mention of Spain. "Spain?" he mused and moved his head a little so his dreamy gaze could be visible. "Mmm, they close their stores every day for naps. Oh, such a marvelous country." he sighed in content.

Apprehension showed in the bright green that were Nikolai's eyes. It was a sudden thing to do, but he was also aware that the longer they stayed, the bigger chance Ivan had of getting to either of them. "I... I suppose Melody darling can take over my class for a little longer." he mumbled and looked around warily before looking back at Leon. "Are you quite sure you want to do this, dearie?"

Leon Court"Absolutely sure. I have a friend with a house just outside of Merida on the coast. It's perfect," he said, then kissed Nikolai lovingly. "Darling, come away with me."

It was the most logical thing to do considering their circumstances, if they were to escape Ivan than they had to do this. So why did it make Nikolai so hesitant? He had gone to places on his own before, places he hadn't even heard of with only Ezekiel for companionship, and even then the bird left at random times. He had been on his own before, but something about this scared him. It felt like eloping, and the word hung in his thoughts heavily. Commitment usually came with such a word, and for a man like Nikolai, even with Leon it could strike terror in his heart.
"I... I don't know." he admitted and looked away.

Leon Court"Either way, Nikolai, I can't stay," he said softly. "It's too dangerous for me to be here with that maniac on the loose. I was thinking about going away for a small while anyway, see what I can see, actually do my job so I can remain immortal."

Nikolai pursed his lips. Leaving to Spain was Leon was well out of his comfort zone, but to stay around the school without him?
Just leave him, dearie, groaned Sloth. Nikolai nearly forgot all about him, he had been so quiet lately. This charade is beginning to wear on my nerves. Be done with him now and let us carry on! I hear there are new students~
It's not a charade, Nikolai replied with a hint of a hiss in his thoughts.
Either way, my patience has grown thin, dearie. Let him leave and - Oh! Go back to that Ivan fellow! I always did like him, and it'd certainly be interesting to break his heart all over again, yes?
After what just happened, you want me to go back to him? Nikolai nearly yelled in his mind, though his face kept its hesitant look.
Hmm? Did something happen? Sloth asked much to the host's growing anger. My apologies, dearie, I've been asleep these past few days. I was hoping you would be through with this one by the time I woke up, but...

Mmm, those require work, dearie, Sloth yawned. There was a pause. You see that soldier in him, don't you?
Nikolai nearly yelled out his thoughts. How dare you accuse me of that!
He is quite a lot like him. Strong, handsome, friendly... Oh how the list goes on!
Be quiet! He's an entirely different person than... than him, and don't you dare say such things again!
It was more of an act of defiance after hearing Sloth's taunting giggle in surprise, but Nikolai looked fiercely into Leon's eyes and said, "I'll join you, dearie."
