Raedou bowed again and took his leave, limping toward Farfarello.
"Bean sprout," he grumbled with a low, rasping tone, "you... DO know how to boil a single egg, don't you?"

"Yes... I do." The demon replied a bit seethingly, though not outright hostile. He plunked the egg into the cauldron, wich had just begun to produce steam and bubbles.

Jaeto stood up from his position across from Calisto. His armor, he noticed, was rusty. His halberd was showing signs of the offending red decay as well. His hair and his body were in no less need of a bath than before their little escapade with the pond. In fact, it seemed that the pond experience had caused them all to smell somewhat worse.
Hashmal strolled out of the forest, from the direction of the pond, busily munching on the leg of one of the giant toads known to inhabit the area. Her helmet's visor lifted up, and provided access for the food to enter her mouth and thus, her gut.
"Give that egg here, yolkel, and I'll boil it over with only my breath."
Jaeto glanced surreptitiously away from Hashmal, and did not bother to return to his seat once the armored . . . thing . . . occupied the space beside it.
"I'm going to look for a river," Jaeto said, then turned and walked off. With Raedou here, Calisto was in safe hands.
((Other than the hatching of that egg, I think we're ready for a time-skip.))

Helenne was visibly taken aback. "Your troops?" she echoed. "What? It has to be the three of us, Your Grace. I cannot trust you to keep your deal when you have military superiority. Besides, Remedius, the guide, is my dear friend and far more than capable of disappearing on a whim.
As if to emphasize this, Remedius caused his forehead to become invisible. The brain behind was then clearly visible, strange as that was. Remedius only smiled merrily.

"Knight, not that I doubt the putrid qualities your breath must posess, I don't think it will actually boil an egg. I think it's doing just fine where it is, thanks." Farfarello sarcastically replied, hardly noticing his own awful smell.

((Wow, Z. That actually looks exactly how I picture Elmire in his armor. xd ))
Raedou stared blankly at the boiling pot for a few seconds, and then silently limped over to a nearby tree to sit and rest his tired old bones. He hoped that he would soon fall asleep and dream of tropical fruit once more.

The Duke glanced at the strangely dressed Remedius and laughed.
"You speak me a serpent, me dear?" he replied slyly, "I would never betray my allies who have the same goal as I. You sadden me."
He looked over the town in front of them again.
"We depart." he said calmly, "My troops will escort us to the excavation site, where the Grand Bishop is said to be hiding."

"They're wrong," Helenne said simply. Her arms folded up against her chest, and her voice accumulated a matter-of-fact tone. "They would have found him already if he was there. But, Remedius and I have our own little idea."
Helenne glanced to her right, where Remedius was now bartering an object from a peddler of random junk. Boxes, small chests, pottery, plants, stones, petrified woods, dried body parts, small statues, sticks of various shapes and wood types, drawing utensils, a rough kind of floral paper, ink, primitive native tools such as arrowheads, books, a few small cages, some candles, a myriad of rings, and water pitchers could be found, among some other things.
Remedius selected a small, polished but unpainted flute of humble use along with a colorful feather of some tropical bird. A gemstone-turned-spearhead was also selected. The total cost more than Remedius could afford, however, and Helenne was forced to lend the necessary funds.
"You have no authority over me, Your Grace, especially not in this place," Helenne said without glancing at the man to which she was speaking. "We're doing this Rememdius' way. I trust him more than I trust you. If you were smart, you'd trust him, too."

Ralendine's face was twisted with frustration. This woman was a nuisance. He glared at the villagers who watched him in his silent little tantrum, and they soon left him alone. He bit his lip and remained silent, waiting for what this... Remedius had planned.
They shall all be killed anyway. he thought to himself, They will pay for opposing the Duke of Elmire- no. The King of Mythicaa.

After gathering a select few more nick-nacks, Remedius performed a 270-degree spin before walking off to the right, down a cobblestone street which quickly degraded into a dirt path. They seemed to be heading straight into the wilderness.
Helenne seemed uneasy, and this showed across her face, but hesitantly the knight followed the magus into the growth.

Ralendine followed as well, with the thought that his excavation team was expecting him, but he would never come. If too much time passed, they would come looking for him... and that is when he would take control of this pathetic operation.

((FINE!!))
As the demon absently stirred the frothing water, the egg began to crack. What? He thought, wondering if that was supposed to be happening. Taking it as normal, he continued doing what he was doing until he saw what appeared to be a small tuft of brown hair under the surface. Far foolishly (there is no other way for this man) reached into the boiling water and grabbed whatever it was, pulling it out. Much to his surprise, a tiny human child dangled, wailing, from his fist. The human was bright red, no doubt from the water, though no burns adorned his tiny naked body. "Um..." Was all the demon managed to say.

Raedou heard the baby's crying from the tree under which he was sitting. It had disturbed his sleep. The Ganzi hated being woken up.
"What is that infernal racket coming from?!" he roared as he turned to Hashmal, "Knight! Ganziga forbid you ever have children!!"
Raedou was angry. Very angry. He stood still and listened to the crying, tracking down where it was coming from. And finally, he came to one raging conclusion...
"BEAN SPROUT!!!"

Farfarello swung the child around behind his back in a vain attempt to hide it. "What!?" He replied angrily. The child did not silence himself (and it was definitely a "he").
