I hope that DoW 2 stays on the squad level combat, the whole army angle is more for Epic Armageddon and Apocalypse.

It's possible that I'll be writing a review of Soulstorm for my college newspaper in the next few weeks, so I'm going to be picking up a copy soon.

More news on DoW II, apparently owners of Soulstorm will receive and invitation to the beta. And the sequel will be running on Relic's Essence Engine.

Won't be out until 2009 though. They did however beat US company Vivendi in a legal battle and got their Homeworld rights again, so we can expect moar of that as well.
Essence engine FTW though, it received upgrades with Opposing Fronts, allowing for better weather effects. Pair it with the Havok engine and we've got ourselves a winner here!

The Essence engine has physics anyway even so DOW2 will have a upgraded Essence engine.

Who knows, we may see squads of marines with different helmet styles. Orks all look the same, though these are just alpha shots so anything can still be added.
This all looks a tad shiny though..

There's more to a game than just shiny visuals. Though this is Relic we're talking about, almost as god-like as Valve. Plus they did Company of Heroes, so they are solid winners in my books straight away.

I can only hope to god that most of the races make it. If they're gonna rape our wallets to regain those other factions then I won't do it!
