Alti knew Haar cared, or at least he thought he knew because, truthfully, Alti didn't know what he knew any more... It really... he just... he was so confuzed. And he hated that because he wasnted it to be simple and he wanted for it to stop hurting. But it hurt so freaking bad.... Alti nodded slowly, his amber eyes watching the other intensely. This could very well be the last time he was with the man and he... he wanted something to remember from it -- something distinct that he could... imagine very clearly. He didn't want to lose everything, but such a small momento was not nearly enough.

He nodded slowly as the other finished speaking, his gaze sinking, his expression falling. "...Just about as bad as we'll feel if you don't put me in danger...." By that, meaning if they just... ceased to be -- whether as friends or something more -- together. And Alti had said we.

Haar scratched a hand through his hair, sighing both at the situation and the quickly diminishing light. He supposed he didn't realize just how much he'd hurt Alti if he didn't follow through with his feelings. However, Haar still felt more than uneasy at the idea of having more than a friendship with the teen, even if it would be a secret for the most part, save for a few people. Haar was sure Allora would find out somehow, and Haar would have to tell Ceris and Xel, but Peyton and the rest of the fire kingdom community would be left in the dark unless the royals decided to instate a law about marrying off their generals in order to gain better political standing.

"Okay." Haar said finally, looking up with a serious expression. "Are you sure...?"

Of course he was sure. Alti knew... he had his aunt-turned-mother and he had his... he had his father, at least a bit, though he wasn't at all sure if he would ever be able to see the man again..... But that was part of what had aided his decision: his father's absense. He didn't wish to lose any more of the people he found important. But it had also helped him distinguish his feelings for Haar as something... different. He did very much want to be with his father but the gut-wrenching, twisting pain of thinking he might have to live without Haar was... that was different; it was worse, much worse.

Slowly, the teen nodded, his expression set into lines of stubborness, his eyes bright. "Yes, Haar. I'm sure," he replied, his voice and gaze resolute.

[[Okay, last one for today... maybe. XD]]

Haar felt his heart clearly pounding away in his chest as he waited for Alti response. It was the same sort of anticipation he felt right before entering into enemy territory, or at least close to it-- the thrilling nervous feeling in the pit of his stomach mixed with a bit of fear. However, Commander Shay Haar doubted he had ever been so happy to step foot in malicious lands. Haar was so happy in fact that his how being seemed to lighten, red eyes shining, an uncommon, genuine smile upon his face. He could've kissed the boy, but he resisted, holding out a hand with a gentle grin. "Good."

((Just keep tellin' yourself that. xD Or just admit that you love me, Alti, and Haar too much to leave us alone. :P))

Golden-orange eyes brightened as he saw the other's expression lighten. Had Haar ever... smiled at him like that before? Alti didn't think so, though he couldn't be sure for he had never before been so accutely aware of the other.... He returned the other's smile, his lips tilting up in a gentle curve of extreme, bright happiness. He... he felt better now. Much better. Slowly, a happy and slightly silly grin planted on his lips, he raised his hand to take the other's as it was offered.

((Which is what I'm guessing Haar wanted (Alti's hand)? 8D;; ))
PostPosted: Mon Nov 12, 2007 7:15 pm

[[IN MARRIAGE. LAWL. Jk, yeah he just wanted to hold his hand for once without being glared at. :>]]

He felt refreshed, excited, nervous, and almost a bit scared all at once. But it was a nice feeling when coupled with a sense of being wanted...a sense that someone in the world truly cared not only for your wellbeing but for everything else. Okay, so many he shouldn't be looking so far into the depths of relationships, it wasn't like either of the two had confessed some unrealistic, undying love for one another. Yes, he liked Alti and he cared for him greatly, but loving someone was a whole other realm he wasn't sure he knew anymore.

Taking the other's hand, Haar led the teen out of the forest and back toe lighted festival. "Anything you want to do before it gets too late?" He asked, turning towards the other, keeping his fingers laced between the other's for the moment.

((Why else would he want a hand? To eat it? domokun

And Tato, since you don't seem to have a specific calendar date for Novias, is it alright if I make one up? You'll see why laterrrrr~.))

Holding hands with Haar... being a.... a couple -- it was so odd to think about, so so completely strange for the teen. He had spent so much of his life by himself, kept away from the other children by a wall of rumor and mistrust and coldness -- part of it belonging to others and part of it belonging to Alti. But it was... it was nice. Deffinately nice and -- and much better, he knew, then having never to speak to or see them man again. His fingers rested intertwined in the other's. Alti glanced down at their joined hand for a moment, a light flush filling his cheeks at the sight of interlaced pale and tanned digits. They probably looked like a... a really odd couple to outsiders, but Alti found that he didn't mind -- not that that was saying anything as he had never much cared for what others said or thought or did.

Bright golden-orange hues glanced up towards the older male, a light, pleasing smile forming just beneath. "Nothing... in particular, but I think it might be fun to wander for a bit....." he replied, his bright gaze meeting the other's rather darker one.

[[To slobber on smooch it (I could've made that 100x more perverse but I decided not to)? :B Yeah, that's fine, I dun care.]]

Haar looked down at the teen with a fiery gaze. "And where exactly would you like to wander?" He asked with a silly grin before casting his gaze out towards the festival. It was still rather busy, but the place tended to take a more lewd turn once night fell and Haar wasn't sure he'd want to be caught up in the crossfire of drunken party-goers.

((Make sure you don't trip, then. :D;;; ))

Alti cast his gaze around the marketplace, bright amber-orange eyes traveling as far as they could before they reverted back to meet the other's gaze. "Mmmm... I.... I think I'd like to...." he began, soon trailing off. He paused for a moment, a rather thoughtful expression on his features. He had seem some pretty interesting things in the festival before -- when he had been with his father and... and Haar hadn't been there. "Mmm, it'll be a suprise," he piped in, his expression eager. It was getting late, he knew, but there should still be some people performing as it was not yet too late. Maybe it would only be closing acts and the like, but it would at least be something....

Alti didn't need to take the other's hand in his own for he already had it. And so he started off, leading the other carefully through the crowd, though this time he felt no need to drag the other off at top speed. He glanced back at the older male a couple times during their walk -- he just... he couldn't help. And then, finally, they arrived back at the performance grounds. Alti had been right, too -- many of the acts were still running, music streaming from various of the stage areas.

Bright eyes seached along the rows for one... one in particular that he remembered had been... it was interesting and maybe Haar would like it. He started up again, heading towards that area. It should still be open -- after all, it was run by the Kingdom of Darkness and should be open later than the others. And he was right! Alti beamed as the finally arrived at the desired spot -- a display of various acts performed with a plethora of dangerous objects ranging from the tiniest of daggars to an executioner's axe. Tricks were played, movements made so fast that eyes could not follow. It was... well, he didn't know if Haar would actually like it or if it would be something so familiar that the man became bored, but... but Alti hoped he would like it.

A slightly unsure, sheepish smile spreading across his lips, the boy glanced up at Haar, tugging nervously at a strand of deep indigo hair. "Do you... uhm... do you like it....?" he asked, a light flush seeping into his cheeks.

Haar swallowed thickly, almost hesitant to answer.
Answer this question thoughtfully and carefully, Haar, his subconscious crooned, or crush any hopes of ever kissing that boy again. Although Haar was no where near being bored with the performance, he tended to give rushed and oftentimes unamused-sounding answers when he was nervous. It wasn't a good trait, and Haar knew it so he tried to gain confidence over the years but one of the areas that was still lacking was his confidence when it came to his emotions. Emotions save for anger, anyway.

Casting a red gaze out towards the performers who were twisting and turning and weaving through their act, all the while mysteriously catching the darkness, filtering away from human sight as glittering metal sailed through the air. It was bizarre and intriguing all at the same time, and with a clearly interested grin, the young man turned back. "Well, of course I like it. I especially liked the bit where they-- Oh, see? They did it again," he commented in an excited murmur, leaning towards the teen as to not disrupt any other bystanders watching the event.

((Alti is giving me cavities right now. Just... just... I don't know. D: <3333 ))

In those silent moments of deliberation, Alti's bright golden-orange gaze had moved from the performers and the stage to carefully study the older male's expression. It seemed... odd how well he knew that face now, and yet how very rarely he ever truly looked at it. True, he had seen Haar many times but that was... that was different. He had just been seeing, not really observing. He didn't quite... know what Haar was thinking. Alti didn't know the man well enough for that -- the two had known each other only for a relatively small time, after all. But he could tell Haar was... thinking. And he was watching the performance, which was good; it meant that at the very least Haar didn't seem to be bored.

As the other spoke, the corners of Alti's lips curled upwards, a slightly silly grin forming under lightly flushed cheeks. He looked... really, quite pleased with himself. It was almost commical -- he had actually been worried that maybe Haar wouldn't like and... and.... But he did and that was good and Alti felt relieved. It was... cute to see the boy so worked up about such a thing. One would never have believed that that cold, dark-haired noble of "Dark" blood descent that Haar had met at the party could ever have turned into this.

((I've been listening to "Chocolate" by Snow Patrol almost non-stop. haha. 8D;;; ))

[[Aww, Alti's makin' Haar do his nervous tick. XD]]

Haar tried to smile as Alti scrutinized his features. It was obvious that the boy was looking at him, really looking at him. Everyone was so very formal with him, save for his few friends, so it was...not common for people stare at him so. He attempted to form a grin, but it fell flat as he nervously rubbed his knuckles against the scar under his eye. Swallowing, the soldier turned back towards the performance, watching with a vaguely awed expression as the shadows grew once the sun set, which made the act even more fascinating.

[[Short, sry. :< I've been listening to a lot of things, but right this second I'm listening to 'Remember when it rained' by Josh Groban. XD]]

((D'awwwww. D: <3333 Poor Haar, getting all nervous 'coz Alti's being crazeh.))

Alti quickly looked away, a bright flush seeping into his cheeks. He had been... making Haar nervous and it had suddenly made the teen realise that he had been staring at Haar -- which was really quite overly embarrassing. He just couldn't help it that he thought that Haar was... that he was... really... handsome and good-looking and -- the teen had to stop that train of thought as his blush became deeper and more pronounced, bright crimson brusning across his face. He hoped Haar would just think it was because of the cold -- except that the blush was a bit too much just to because of the temperature.

Golden-orange eyes returned to the spectacle before them, though for once he was finding the show rather less interesting than he would like to.... He just couldn't help it -- he couldn't focus on the performance when he was so amped up and... and sort of tingling all over. It was a weird feeling but he now felt quite overly aware of the other..... It was strange, indeed, and he rather wished that he could just... just settle down a bit and act normal.

((For me, right now, it's "The Night Sky" by Keane and "Marsh King's Daughter" by Eisley. fmg, I love Eisley. SOLOVELY. 8D <333

[[I did and I saw it last night and I was all like, "Oh yeah, dark chocolate all the way bby." It's my favorite and all~ And then, gosh darnit, it got taken!! >:C I also like raspberry chocolate but I didn't realize they had set personalities so yeah... Boo. :< His habit was going to be sticking out his tongue at people and just spreading da love of comedy/tomfoolery (blowing a raspberry, gettit??)]]

Haar tried to suppress the smirk growing on his face, but couldn't help it as he laughed at the younger male. Ruffling the teen's head of dark hair with his free hand, Haar grinned--his former nervousness seeming to vanish now that those lantern-like eyes were set towards another direction. However, the soldier quite liked Alti's eyes. They were different from the usual, varying shades of red and brown that seemed so very common among those of fire nation blood. The older of the two wasn't quite sure how such a bright color could've formed from such conflicting blood types, but nonetheless they were still...something astonishing.

He didn't think he'd find it too much of a task getting used to looking at them for much greater lengths than usual.

His grin persisted as the boy's cheeks continued to redden for reasons unknown to the soldier. Haar found the teen's current mannerisms quite amusing considering how very uncharacteristic they seemed. And although it was dark, and getting dimmer by the minute, the young man could still make out a dark stain spreading along the teen's face. "Hn, getting a little dark," he observed, looking around for any hint of sun but finding none as the sky fell from a rich purple to an inky blue. "You want to head back?"

((You shoulda told me you wanted Dark. I would've saved 'im for ya. D: And you could do that for Mint, y'know. He's the joker. 8D;; And there's still Unsweetened... 8D;; ))

It wasn't at all difficult for the boy to tear his eyes from the show, the golden orbs moving instead to focus upon the other, the blush still pervading across his cheeks. His face felt... really hot. Really, really hot -- almost too hot, despite the cold. Golden eyes glanced from the other's face and the sky and then back again. "Ehh? D-don't you want to... stay and watch the show...?" he asked, stammering slightly from his heightened nerves -- he really was much too nervous at the moment. "But... yeah... if, uhm.... you don't mind then I'd like to go back," he replied, golden-orange eyes fixed on the older male through a veil of dark lashes and dark bangs. Alti was being unusually unsure -- usually he would have just stated his opinion and waited for the other, but he wasn't his usual self at the moment. He wanted to... to make Haar feel -- well, he didn't think really that one such as himself could do such a thing, but... but he wanted to, at least even in the slightest, make the older male... happy. Maybe. If he could, though he wasn't sure that anything he could do could really.... produce such results.

He really was not acting himself.

((Haha. Unsure, stammering Alti is so funny and so... cute. x3 ))
