The golden wolf pup immediately stopped sniffing, "Poochy! ChiChi!!!" thought Oro.
He instinctively started to growl at the comment as he stalked towards Raine, humiliated. Schwarz was having a hard time trying to keep in character, after hearing 'ChiChi' as a name.

((Okay. I'll let it slide the first couple of times because it turned out to be what the characters would do, but things like this...

Quote:
But presently, he forgot the girl and payed attention to the auburn-haired man who was inspecting him. ... This stranger spotted Uriel's examination and turned his head skyward.

Quote:
He tried pointing to the gem, but she withdrew and stepped behind the swordsman.

...suggest you went ahead and auto-controlled another's characters. I would like to be the person who actually decides what actions the characters I'm playing go through. Please try not to do such things again.))

"A likely story..."
"...He must think he has a shot at gaining her trust."

Chiaro and Oscuro weren't buying it at all. From past experience, everyone who had ever expressed interest in the collar always ended up looking to turn her in. Call it overprotective, but they were not in the mood to take chances. Cinkel was a rare case, however...but only because he was so annoyingly persistent. Would Uriel be the same? They hoped not.

"..." Playing it safe and watching carefully how far Uriel was trying to play out his ruse, Azriel silently kept her place behind Kratos.

Sheena was also quiet, but thinking carefully as she discreetly kept her eye on Uriel. There was sure to be jewelry with similarly-designed gems (be it collars, bracelets, earrings, et cetera) worn by the wealthy around this district; and of all the people he could've been drawn to, he approaches this particular group? She knew that aside from Zelos and Regal, she and the others definitely didn't look like they were among the upper class around here. He did mention recognizing Zelos and Colette as Chosens and that was perhaps a solid reason why he would show interest in the group...but it was still suspicious that he seemed to be instantly drawn to Azriel, as it looked like he deliberately snubbed off the likes of Rhone and his oddly dark-skinned appearance, especially when he was the first to speak to him.

Ever oblivious to the potential tension that began to drift in the air, Colette beamed and replied, "Heehee...no, this gold one is Oro, and the silver one is Schwarz!" ^_^

((Oh I'm sorry. I'll be more careful... I guess it doesn't help I'm new to this. RPing I mean. It's fun but I guess I'm no really doing it right. I'll try to be better if I can figure out how))

"Schwarz and Oro, huh?" Uriel looked down at the little things for a few seconds, then let out a large yawn and stretched. "Excuse me. I just took a nap under that tree and I'm kind of still tired. So where's a group like yourselves goin'? I was gonna head out to cross the Fooji Mountains, but for some reason a bunch of soldiers stopped me. It felt like I'd been walking a while but I guess I wasn't as close as I felt; I still couldn't even see the mountains' tips over the trees yet. Now I don't know if they were the king's or the Pope's knights, or anyone else's for that matter, but I didn't wanna stick around to find out. So I figure I'll just go the reverse direction since I'm not heading anywhere specific. I came back here to get my bearings. Oh you don't wanna know my life story right here in the street. Lemme buy you guys some tea or something? There's a place right down there." Uriel ended his monologue with a point in the general direction of the Meltokio Slums, knowing all too well how devoid of money his pack was.

The slums were remote as far as this city goes. Nobody there really paid any mind to the others around. You had in that sector deadbeats and fugitives alike, as well as people who just ran out of luck a long time ago. There, a child's face would harden into an old man's by the age of thirty. Certainly it wasn't known for its great sanitation. In addition to those things, it was a maze of alleys and backstreets that hid between houses and layered up on top of them. Wooden planks ran from house to house, and other houses were crudely built atop the lower ones, making the place unnavigable to outsiders. This would be the place to separate this "cult."

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Genis sat down in the brown chair. He was at the school building in Palmacosta. Genis was upset because it seemed no matter what he did, no matter how hard he tried, no matter what he said, he wasn't getting through to people. "Why don't these people listen?" he thought, "What is the point of teaching people about half-elf discrimination if no one even respects what I'm saying?" The people he was teaching to had no respect for him, and most of them acted in such a behavior because Genis was a half-elf himself. People looked down upon half-elves, and it seemed that even regenerating the world had little effect. He looked down to the exsphere on his hand. "Everyone is probably out adventuring while I have to stay here and teach people!" he thought to himself. Genis became even more lonely than before, and it seemed his loneliness got worse with every day. Genis then began to try and think of a way to see his friends again, without abandoning the school. "I got it!" he exclaimed. "If I become a traveling teacher, I can dissolve half-elf discrimination around the world AND search for my friends!" he thought.

Zelos shrugs at Uriel's suggestion.
"Why would we go to the slums for tea? If we wanted tea, I'd just ask my butler to whip us up some."
"Indeed...it seems pointless to go down there."
Rhone grins and takes a few steps towards the gates of Meltokio.
"I say we hurry to Palmacosta." ^_^

This was a set back. Once again, Uriel would need to make an excuse. This one would hurt his pride a little. "Oh uhm... well I just entered in the Coliseum and... well I didn't win. I don't really have a lot of money left and with all of you... Plus since it was my suggestion I figured I should pay. But I suppose if you aren't interested--- Hey if you're all going to Palmacosta could I join you?" He knew this was impromptu but they wouldn't fall for any of the bate, and he couldn't just let his find escape him. He shifted uneasily from one foot to the other and imagined crossing his fingers.

Sheena cocked an eyebrow, giving her an expression of skepticism. She thought for a few moments more in silence, reflecting on everything that this Uriel had spoken. He just seemed like a fishy character so far...randomizing topics as if he were trying to find something to say that would gain their favor. First expressing interest in the Chosens, then Azriel (which was a big warning sign to her), then to Schwarz and Oro in an attempt to look friendly in Colette's eyes, and then he tried to treat the whole group to some tea. Now his latest question just plain showed that he was trying to cling to the group. Just what was he trying to pull here? She had a good idea, but it still seemed too early to jump to conclusions.

Having enough of this dodginess, the ninja chief decided to raise a straight-to-the-point question. Keeping her arms folded, she looked Uriel straight in the eye with a lightly serious expression and began. "Why exactly would you want to come with us, anyway?" Whatever he'd say, she had slim chances of believing it. He could be telling a legitimate reason, or just an alibi for covering up his desire to follow Azriel.

This brought back Uriel's examination senses again. At first he had noticed the tall reddish haired man, who was obviously a body guard of some sort. But now this woman, who he barely even noticed before was becoming suspicious? He urgently needed a reply. "Well, like I said, I lost in the Coliseum.. Honestly I'm not very strong. I've been alright so far traveling on my own but. I guess I'm not very confident after that match. I was just hoping you could kind of help me get there, since you all seem so strong. I'm not useless by any means but I don't know if I can get there myself."

Uriel offered his most pleading look. He turned back and forth between Schwarz, Oro, and Colette, hoping he could push this card a bit more. "You wouldn't mind would you?" Not changing his expression at all, he instantly realized he shouldn't be imposing this much so soon. But it's too late. If he couldn't recover from this, he could always just leave and chalk it up as another failure for the day.

Through the wolves minds raced the same message.
"I would, I would, I would!"
"I would, I would, I would!"

Rhone shrugs and walks past Uriel.
"I say let him come with us. If he tries something we could always just beat his a** into the ground. Besides..."
He turns back around and looks at his companions.
"I don't think he's dumb enough to try anything with all of us around. Whether he's lying about his strength or not doesn't matter. I'm preeeetty sure we could take him. C'mon kid, let's go."

"IIIII dunno, Rhone...Are you sure it's a good idea?..."
"Nope, but if we just left him here, he'd probably follow us anyway. This way...we can keep an eye on him."

Sheena stepped forward, but first went behind Zelos to deliver a slight knock on top of his head before following along at a casual pace. "...Says the guy who thought we should keep trusting Fahriel when he betrayed us." stare As she passed Uriel, she glanced at him warily from the corner of her eye for a fleeting moment, then looked forward.

Colette, still oblivious, trailed hurriedly behind Rhone with a look of concern and whispered, "But...um...wh-what makes you think we'll have to fight him? What'd he do?" User Image

Kratos walked past Uriel without once looking at him, keeping his sights trained forward...seeming to barely even notice how Azriel was clinging to his arm like a child afraid of getting separated from its parent. She also made sure her pace matched his, as if she thought staying behind him was keeping her hidden from view, and kept her eyes toward the ground to avoid looking at Uriel. She mentally admitted to herself that it must've been kind of silly to look this clingy to Kratos, but there was just something about him that made her feel absolutely safe just by sticking with him.

Meanwhile, Eloysio, all settled in Azriel's shoulder bag,was still in his own little world examining Sheena's pact rings.

"Really? I can't thank you all enough!" Uriel answered. He walked with the group, careful to always leave a few paces between himself and the others, whether he was on the side or behind them. After all his pleading, he felt he had to make up for it by staying out of the way. Not to mention he was unsure how much more conversation he could get away with without adding even more suspicion.
Uriel kicked a rock as he walked, but was unable to keep a single one in the path of his feet for more than a couple swipes, and would constantly have to lock onto a new target as the previous went to hide among the grass. After his eighth or ninth stone, he abandoned the little game and watched his surroundings in silence, of course, including the people around him. He would often find one or two of the others returning his gaze. Feeling uneasy, he pulled his collar up and kept on.

The group was now quite a ways from the outskirts of Meltokio, and the gates of the Tethe'alla Bridge could be seen in the distance. As it was just a year after the worlds' reunion, the massive bridge was still defunct and under repair.

"Hey guys," Sheena spoke up, toward anyone in particular, "How do you propose we get around this? Palmacosta's due north and all..." As far as she could recall, she and Regal were the only ones with Rheairds. Rhone, Kratos, Colette, and Azriel could fly, Zelos never really feels like using his wings much, and Raine and Uriel didn't have a means to fly at all.

((Short, but just giving the go signal for a newcomer. ^_^ Also...since I haven't been able to find a clear world map for the layout of the lands in Dawn, I'm going with this fan interpretation because it matches up with the Phantasia world map. What with Phantasia being the distant future of Symphonia and all. Just throwing that out there so that no one ends up confused. User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Rhone answers Colette without changing his gaze.
"You saw how apprehensive everyone was towards him...obviously he's suspicious. That's why I say if he behaves...he can join us. If he betrays us...Chiaro will likely annihilate him."

The group then sees the bridge ahead of them.
"Hmmm...good question, Sheena....some people could be carried over....."
"If I have to...I'll use my wings."

Lyra was walking back to her hometown in Sybak after walking to Meltokio to get her mother medicine. Mumbling to herself, Lyra headed toward the Tethe'alla Bridge. She didn't notice the group as she practically ran past them to head to the dock she had made herself to travel back and forth between the two islands. Lyra continued what seemed to be talking to herself when she lost her footing and tripped over her own feet. "Ow... That kinda hurt..." She mumbled as she still lay on the ground, making no sign that she was going to get up.
