I was at Best Buy today. I intended to buy Soulstorm. I looked at it. I couldn't make myself do it.
Maybe when it's like $20.
On a completely different note, I've been playing Eldar in the Dark Crusade single player "campagain" on Normal and I've just oblierated everything that's dared to oppose me. However, I just can't seem to beat Chaos... at all. Every time I attack any of their areas the honour guard is there to defend and so I'm swarmed by tons of stuff, a Defiler and Predator included. I can survive, but it just gets to a points where I'm being viciously swarmed by Berzerkers, Horrors, and Defilers, and I simply can't survive. Any suggestions?

Soulstorm is a disappointment and a good waste of money. I'd probably have more fun organizing a contest of sorts. Actually, that is more fun.

Meh. For free you can download the Sisters of Battle mod and then not have to throw good money after bad product.
Unfortunately, there's no campaign in the mod. Playing online is still fun, though, provided you know somebody else with the mod.
Also in mod news, apparently there's a "combiner" mod in the works out there that'll bring together the Inquisition Daemonhunt mod, Sisters of Battle mod, Steel Legion mod, Tyranid mod, and several others. That seems like the best use of my time rather than going out and buying a game that's gotten nothing but subpar reviews from what I've seen.

Texinadawolf meh i got a email from Gameshadow saying that videogaming247 has claimed Dawn of War 2 is definitely in the works at original devs Relic. and Relic is doing something (if the website (relic) is to be believed). The developers of Soulstorm said this was the last installment of the Dawn of War series. What else can they put in? A New engine? Will that be enough to dish out another $30-40 for the same thing? They already said they weren't even going to attempt Tyranids, and I don't really want to see another branch of the Imperium as a new race. And Iron Lore, the makers of Soulstorm, shut down, suits them for making a shitty add-on.

Governor-Militant Lukas I kinda feel stupid for asking for this but could someone give me the cd codes for dawn of war and winter? I lost them gonk Haha, no you ******** idiot. mrgreen You do not ask for those EVER. Nor should anybody feel inclined to do so. Anybody who feels sorry and does so is simply retarded for handing out their own keys that they paid for, only to let someone else muck about with them. Don't be a retard so don't hand out your keys. Here's a tip stupid, Google for them. DON'T ask around on forums, just Google them, plenty of sites with cracks and illegal codes. EDIT. Watch that mouth, we can't upset Death Masque again!

Xenos Mortium I was at Best Buy today. I intended to buy Soulstorm. I looked at it. I couldn't make myself do it. Maybe when it's like $20. On a completely different note, I've been playing Eldar in the Dark Crusade single player "campagain" on Normal and I've just oblierated everything that's dared to oppose me. I can survive, but it just gets to a points where I'm being viciously swarmed by Berzerkers, Horrors, and Defilers, and I simply can't survive. Any suggestions? Well, what I did when I played Imperial Guard and Space Marines was I set up a good firing line. A nice solid defense around those SP's with turrets on them. It also helps to have the turrets stealthed. But when my brother did that realm, he got loads of Dark Reapers and nailed anything that close. By now, you should have almost all (if not all) of the provinces and a nice honour guard. They should help defend your base. Also, if you can capture the mines, build a forward base first thing. It helps a lot with getting you going quicker. Once you have a good, solid base, get your fire prisms and those jet-bike like things (I forgot what they are called) and exterminate any bases where they will build stuff. From where you are, there is a base just above you and on the path to your right. Don't pay much attention to the Blood Pulse as long as you get out of the way in time. Just send your vehicles on lightning-quick attacks on the enemy. Try to take out their buildings so they can't fight back. Also, as a warning, there tend to be lots of turrets around the Blood Pulse areas. That is why those jet-bike things are good, for they can just jump around them. The Bonesingers will also help setting up new buildings the further along you go. Also, you might want to save about every 15 minutes just in case something goes horribly wrong so that you won't have to restart it. What I did was I had saved the begining point as Chaos Base. From each save on, I would make it Chaos Base 1, Chaos Base 2, Chaos Base 3, etc. That way I can redo something that lead to my death earlier. Also, they will send a Bloodthirster to your base, but it is realitivly easy to take out with your Honour Guard and Dark Reapers. If you need anymore help, I'm here.

Well a updated COH engine (that along would be epic) add more units make a real Meta-campagin(sp) (like Empier Earth 3 one) Hell add spacebattles as well using a Updated Homeworld engine set it in the Hours Heresy(sp) or before and so on there is still a hell lot they do

Horus Heresy should not be raped with a game. Though 40k in general would be good material for a 4x game with space and planet side battles. A bit like Empire at War, only less suck when on terra firma. Space battles in that game rules though.
But I agree, an upgraded Company of Heroes engine would provide a good gaming experience, especially if the Guardsmen behave more like the troops found in CoH in terms of movement, cover and squad tactics.
As for Soulstorm itself, some missions were fun, others were a fugging pain in the a**. I miss the ability to build a large base and keep it the next time you defend that sector. Boss maps are either good fun or plain cheap, the ork map is nothing but a mass of ork units without any real thought of placement. The Tau and Dark Eldar maps are better though, where you start out with a small infiltration force and clear a path for your base to deploy.

I did the DE map on easy my first time through needless to say that even on easy it takes a good deal of strategy. I probley wouldnt have won for another few hours if I hadent turtled at my base and sent out my marauders to take out the objectives. I was like Allied bombers striking from England against the german war machine.

I have not yet bought the game, but your nice reviews well.......
Well this is how I see it ................the Sisters of battle are awesome. Giving me something new to play as. But there is also a mod. I alos like the quality of voice acting so I am some what torn.
The dark Eldar suck...............giving me something to practice on mrgreen
But yeah I always wait for the prices of games to go down before I buy them. And hearing that Soulstorm is not as good, Ican wait for the price to lower to have all 9 races mrgreen
