[[I'm a tard and thought I replied to this. o_o;]]

Wei's smile didn't face until he left the building and was forced into facing the harsh reality of winter and all of it's wonders. "Wonder, my a**. More like a freezing season spawned from hell," the snake muttered, a scowl returning to his features as he stuffed his hands in his coat pockets. Once finding his way to his car, the snake quickly turned on the heat, basking in it for a few minutes before returning his thoughts to why exactly he had to leave in the first place.

He didn't really know where the hell Liao was...but it was supposed to be close, right? He should be able to get there without the mongoose's help.

It wasn't until at least fifteen minutes had past that Wei finally found the place he had dropped the kitten off at. Calling said cat, the older male winced a little. He was going to start getting a reputation for leaving the kid places if he didn't start picking him up earlier.

But Liao didn't seem to mind. Apart from Ea or Penn's occasional rides or maybe the small lift from a friend, Liao usually travelled by himself. What was more, he was hardly ever picked up. Usually he just got rides out of convenience rather than anything else.... So the boy felt rather happy as he saw the man's now-familiar car roll up. A bit of a smile perking up the corners of his lips, the boy said his goodbyes to some of his friends that made up the rest of his chamber group -- a pianist, cellist, and flute player.

With that accomplished, he hurried down the steps, violin tucked safely in its case, and slid into the shot gun seat. The door closed and he glanced up towards Wei, small pink patches (which were most deffinately there only because of the cold, he told himself firmly) coloring his cheeks. "Thanks for picking me up, Wei," he murmured. "I'm really happy that I got to go today." And he really did seem to be very happy -- almost too happy.

Wei looked almost uncomfortable. Liao looked...ridiculously happy, in an almost frightening way--frightening because he rarely seemed this happy. "Well, that's...great," he murmured slowly, turning out of the parking lot carefully. "And it's no problem," he added with a bit of a grin, one hand perched atop the kitten's head as Wei ruffled Liao's bright orange hair. It didn't take too long to get back onto a road that Wei actually recognized... However, he couldn't have found a familiar road further away from the main streets. Damn Ea and his stupid mansion-like apartment which was way too far away from anything else. Him and his attractive butt-- err, snobby richness.

"Was that b*****d teacher of your's there?" Wei asked, inclining his head towards the other just slightly, dropping his hand to put both on the steering wheel.

Wei was still doing... that. Still ruffling his hair like he was some little child.... Well, compared to Wei he was rather young, but he was still already sixteen! Didn't that mean anything to Wei? Liao didn't know why, but the way that Wei treated him as a child irked him a bit. "Eh? Penn? No... he left to go perform in Canada... He'll be away for a few days, I think...." Liao replied in a rather distracted tone. He didn't want to talk about Penn. He really didn't. After all, he had something much more interesting to talk about.....

Barely able to contain his excitement, the overly-pleased smile grew once more upon the teen's lips. "Wei, Wei, guess what?" Liao said, his voice quiet but obviously bursting with eagerness. Without waiting for the other's reply, the boy continued. "I got into nationals! They posted the results from the last contest today and I got in.... and I'm first!" he said, smiling widely. After all, it wasn't every day that one got to play in a national competition. Liao knew that the others would also be very good... but he couldn't help but think that he could deffinately have a shot at winning. Penn was his tutor after all and no matter how much of a b*****d he had been revealed to be, he was an extremely skilled musician. Though the man's prowess was in piano, he was also exceptionally skilled with other instraments as well -- the violin included.

"Well that's good," Wei murmured in an equally as distracted tone, a tone he mostly used when talking to Liao. It wasn't as if he didn't like talking to the kitten, but...but he was a kitten, and much of what Wei said wasn't suitable for kitten ears and thus the snake tried to keep his distance. And more so recently because of Ea, the mongoose didn't seem to like when Wei got to close to the feline for some odd reason. To make things even worse, the older male was currently trying to get home through the back roads, which was never very fun. He didn't know exactly where he was going and the less traveled roads always seemed...creepier, darker, curvier.

"Eh, really?" He tried to sound interested, but music wasn't really his thing. Sure, he liked listening to it but when it came to playing he could've been listening to a lecture on quantum physics, it had the same effect on him. "That's awesome Kitten, really. You should be proud," the snake continued, a look of frustration dawning on his features. He really hated driving this way...

Liao nodded slowly, though he looked slightly disapointed by the other's reaction. He knew that Wei was driving and that it took a lot of concentration and that Wei also probably wasn't exactly fond of classical music, but... but he still couldn't help but feel the small sinking feeling in his gut. But what had he been expecting? After years of experience Liao should have known to never get his hopes up. Nothing good ever came of it, after all....

"Ehh... yeah.... I am," he murmured slowly, now looking rather more subdued. "You know, it's the same competition Ea competed in a few years ago... he got first place. Did you know that?" Liao asked in an off hand manner. So maybe he had begun to suspect something of what was going on between the two. It wasn't exactly hard to see it... but Liao so desperately wanted it to just be his imagination that he would ignore it, at least for the most part.... especially since Wei and Ea seemed to hate each other. Liao couldn't stand relationships like that -- ones where there was no love. His own parents' union had been formed from that and Liao knew the results of that particular marriage all too well.

Wei turned his head at the mention of Ea's accomplishments. "Seems like something he'd do, the guy always has to be the best at everything, eh? Seems like it anyway," the snake murmured with a hint of a grin, green eyes following the curve of the road. "Maybe he could give you some pointers or something. I mean he has to be good to win nationals, and he is that b*****d's brother so I guess it runs in the fa-- in their family, yeah?" Wei added, glancing at Liao for just a second before returning his gaze towards the road.

There was one perk of driving down these narrow roads. They had much more scenery than the main drag that ran straight to the city. Everything looked ...pretty, almost ethereal, at night--the snow and ice glinting softly in the dim light.

((I was imagining like five.... so close to sunset since it's winter. But this works, too. 8D;; ))

Liao nodded slowly. "Yeah, Ea helps me sometimes.... He's a cellist, though, so it's not quite the same.... He usually gets paired to help Robby -- that's the cellist in my group. Robby. And Penn helps just about anyone since he plays all the chamber instraments as well as a few others.... I mean, most of us play at least two instraments but most people are really only good at one, so...." He was babbling and he knew it. Liao felt the color rise in his cheeks. He never babbled -- never. Why was he doing such embarrassing things in front of the man?

To distract himself, Liao quickly moved his gray gaze to stare out the window. It sure was... pretty outside. Usually, the urban landscape was pretty unappealing, but this was.... nice.....

Wei hummed out a response, "Well, at least Penn is good for something I guess," he murmured with a scowl, gripping the steering wheel a little tighter. With a turn of the wheel, the snake muttered something under his breath as the gas gauge on his car made a little ping noise. "Lovely," he hissed. He wasn't exactly worried about running out of gas, it wasn't as if they were really all that far away but nonetheless it was bothersome.

"So when is this competition anyway?" Wei asked, glancing outside as they passed snowy-filled forest.

[[Sorry this took to long... v_v;]]

((Are you planning on stranding them? xD ))

Liao shrugged slowly, a bit embarrassed at having praised the man that Wei so evidently hated.... Liao didn't really like Penn all that much, either -- what with the way he was always being overly flattering and... weird -- but he couldn't believe that Penn was really so terrible as Ea said. Liao knew the mongoose quite well by now (at least to some extent) and had learned that the pale teen often tended to overexagerate when he was trying to prove a point or... protect Liao or something. The kitten could at least see that that was what Ea was trying to do -- protect him.

"Ehmmm... A couple weeks, I suppose. We're going to have a Christmas concert on the twenty-fifth.... I asked Robby to give me a ride there since you're... going to Ea's party," Liao murmured, brow furrowed slightly above his gray eyes. He kept his gaze pointed resolutely out the window, not wanting Wei to see anything of his expression. Ea had had friends who had gone to those parties and he knew that the people who went tended to... stay. As a matter of fact, the boy hadn't even intended on telling Wei about the concert since he didn't want the snake to feel guilty or anything... but in a way he did. He wanted Wei to feel at least the smallest tinge of regret.... He was just being stupid. It wasn't as if Wei would ever come, right? Of course not. He was just talking about the concert to be conversational... it didn't really mean anything.....

((lulz, he's being so jealous... 8D;;; ))
PostPosted: Mon Jan 28, 2008 6:35 pm

[[Omg, sorry again, I went to go take out my contacts and stuff. Lol, he is so jealous of Ea. It kills me. X3 Liao would probably cry is he knew just exactly what sort of relationship Wei and Ea had. Oh, and I'm not sure. ;w;]]

"Why the hell do you have a ******** concert on Christmas?! Couldn't they have moved it or something to closer to New Years? Who puts a Christmas concert on Christmas, that's ******** ridiculous." He was rambling about the date of the concert so he wouldn't actually have to comment on the fact that he wasn't going to it.

"Eer...what time is your concert?" He asked slowly.

((Gonna go eat dinner~))

Ea shrugged. "It's... well, it's a benefit concert, you know. The main audience are some kids from an orphanage... so the head wanted it on Christmas so it could actually be a Christmas memory...." Here, a small smile managed to find its way upon his lips. "Anyway, it's not like I mind. I wouldn't be doing anything else on Christmas, anyway," he murmured. This time, he wasn't intentionally trying to guilt Wei. He was... used to being alone on Christmas -- he always had been -- so the holliday didn't mean much of anything for him. But he knew that if he played for the kids they would probably be... really happy... he hoped.

[[hey guys. I know cussing is part of character personality- but for guild purposes, if your character is an excessive cusser, please censor it. That'd be great. Thanks. smile ]]

[[I don't know why people would have to censor curse words when if a user chooses they can have any sort of 'bad' word censored by clicking on their account info and changing their censorship to something higher (actually, now the censorship is on when you start an account, you have to turn it off). User Image, but whatever. I guess I'm just too used to the rest of Gaia, I didn't realize we couldn't rattle off curse words here. gonk ]]

There. Right there. There was that smile again. Liao could not be this happy all of a sudden, there was no way in hell the kitten would ever be so happy for no apparent reason other than he could possibly help some...orphans. There had to be something that happened during practice...

Wei slowed down just a bit, there was no one on the roads so he didn't mind traveling much below the speed limit, in order to take a good look at the younger male. Flushed face, stupid smile, almost glazed-- "Are you on drugs? Did something frickin' give you drugs at practice?" He asked, green eyes narrowed slightly as he stared at the boy.
