In serious mode, there's nothing on there that I want to play that I can't get for PS3 or Wii, both of which I either have, or have available to me. So in my case it's kind of pointless.

360 is far superior to the PS3 though!

Era: That's how the older model 360s were also, I was hoping whatever kind of internal build they had on the older 360 models that did that would be fixed with this new one, but I guess not. Fail.

Two simple steps to showing why an Xbox is superior even (read: especially) on Xbox/PS3 nonexclusives...

1> Zero, Kin, Psy, Era, Pi, Mala, Shouj, Skiz, WJ. Pick your poison (or poisons, preferably -- variety is the spice of death). RDR, Borderlands, TF2, Transformers: War for Cybertron (the wait til Tuesday for G1 awesomeness is killing me, I tell you), Lego Whateva, Castle Crashers, etc... For bonus awesomeness we could pick up cheapo used copies of Shadowrun or Lost Planet: Colonies and invite our PC gamer buddies too.

2> Set a time/date (even easier with drop in/drop out stuff like RDR, Borderlands, and Transformers), and as many of us as possible will teach whatever environment to fear the members of the Anti-Guild in any number and especially in larger groups.

3> ???

4> Profit!

One of the things I realized early on (even with my total love of Sony coming into this generation) was that both had a lot of games in common, more than just about any prior generation, but when almost everyone I knew had one of the two, I opted in that direction on the simple fact that the direction gaming was taking was leading down the road to multiplayer gaming that I'd actually want to get into. And until cross-platform gaming is more than an insanely rare exception, that road leads me to the 360. Especially since there's no ps3-360 cross-platforming that I've ever heard of.

Ask anyone who was there for the AG Ragnarok Online days about the fun that was had on many an occasion (converting the Zipperbears from their heathen ways, standing in the trainers building and pretending to be NPCs just to confuse the ******** out of people, declaring a boss's lair to be our guildhall for a whole evening, teleporting buff-beggars to the most inhospitable locations possible) and you'll see the added value here.

On the Kinnect end of things, I'm following my long pre-established Natal Protocols. I refuse to be even significantly interested until it is thoroughly proven to be more than a portal for more shovelware gimmickry gaming on the 360.

E3 has been wonderful this year. Only one complaint I have about the new xbox 360. You seriously can't touch it while it's operating or it will destroy your entire disc badly. Other than that, I still want it.

@Kin: You can't expect each game to draw. The only thing you can expect at each game are those dumb vuvuzelas.
That...seems like a pretty major drawback to the system. A small nudge and you've got to get a new game? I know how clumsy I am, and I know that'd bite me in the a** majorly if I ever got one. gonk

Slight exaggeration, but in general you don't want to ******** with the system while the disc is spinning. As long as you put the system in a relatively stable location and don't change its orientation with a disc in it, you should be fine. If you think you might knock it over, just sit it horizontally rather than vertically. And since you're likely using a cordless controller (and the system is fairly heavy/stable), you don't need to worry about all those incidents where you drag the system off the shelf by your cable when you get excited with the controller or someone carelessly crosses the room.

And to be honest, I install most of the games I play, so my disc is almost never spinning.

Not sure about "far superior." I'm not a huge fan of any of the 360 exclusives. Some look interesting to me, like Alan Wake. But as a whole, the exclusives and things that the 360 has on its own really don't measure up to the PS3. Part of that might be because I have so many PS2 series I liked that continue onto PS3 (and so many games are multi-platform now), but I'm just not as interested in your Gears or your Halo: Reach as I am in Metal Gear Solid or Katamari or Last Guardian.

That being said, the 360 certainly wins in the "number of AGers who play it" category Stream brought up. I want so much to get in on those games with everyone, since it sounds like so much fun to have those games to play. As is, only FFG has a PS3 (that I know the friend code to, anyone else have them?) and I want the bigger group to play with. Thus, if I see a cheap 360, I still might get it just for some of the multiplayer. Then have to pay to get onto live, which isn't such a plus, but still...

But on that note, I got my PS3 after finals and have been working on Metal Gear Solid 4. My library of PS3 games is still small (MGS 4, Burnout Paradise, and Soul Calibur 3), but all the good early games are cheap now, so I can expand it pretty easily. And get RDR, since I've heard nothing but good things from all of you, even if I couldn't play it with you.

Duly noted. I always put my systems horizontally when given the option. The only exception is the Wii, because it has such a stable base that it came with.

I should read up on the new 360 a little, even if I don't have the money for it at the moment. If it's cheap enough, or causes the older models to drop in price, they might move up in my "maybe I can swing this with some budget manipulations" list. Though that list might have been more flexible if I was getting paid this summer.

From what I've heard, this system is more or less replacing all the variations of the system. The current top end xbox is probably going to get a small price drop and maybe the low end, but that will be short lived... like until the supply is gone.

On the bright side... it comes with a 250 gig drive. And it looks like they're aiming at making larger drives down the road if that isn't enough.

Honestly the Xbox 360 seems really lackluster to me.
I'm not even sure I'd ever buy the PS3, but seeing as I have one to use now, and I have a wii? I wouldn't throw in money on a system that essentially does nothing for me, that I'm not interested in, and that comes from Microsoft (though I'll give them credit for the fact that they've been doing a bit better lately).

Besides, I enjoy what I've played of the PS3.

To each their own, I keep Wii in pretty much a separate class altogether because Nintendo really hasn't tried to compete with Microsoft and Sony so much as they have just wanted to put out a quality, fun system.

That being said, I've found 360 to be all around a more superior system. I don't mind having to pay for online play (and in the end, $40/yr is not bad) because their online play and community, their entire online set up is vastly, vastly better than Sony in my opinion. Sure it may not have a Blu-Ray player or an internet browser, but even the smallest functions, such as playing music, is a lot better than what PS3 does (you can actually use the system while music is playing, unlike the PS3 where if you are playing music, you can ONLY play music). Their Dashboard is a lot cleaner, interactive, and easier to navigate than the XMB.

Furthermore... I like Microsoft's business practices better than Sony's. I always feel that Microsoft knows, and accepts, when they've taken a previous idea and is using it as their own, I feel they are a lot more honest than Sony has been. Maybe that just has to do with the fact that Kaz Hiari is a ******** psychopath though.

The bold is what I love about this current generation of gaming. More and more developers are showing love for making games non-exclusive, hell, to have the giant Square-Enix break down and say, "Here Microsoft, have Final Fantasy" was huge. I really hope that, in the future, more developers embrace cross-platform games instead of staying completely exclusive.

Further, RO days = heart

As for Kinetc, I think it's fairly interesting. I do give the nod to Microsoft for doing something fairly more unique than the PS Move, even if Kinetc is running off of the idea of the EyeToy and expanding on it. I've found that I do fairly enjoy shovel-ware gimmicky crap, it's a nice little novelty to have that I can jump in and out of.

Hmm...Any word on what the cost is supposed to be? If it's cheap, I could start trying to budget and plan, even though I know I shouldn't. XD

I haven't had any problems with the PS3 dashboard or browser. Well, none that aren't a product of me having a really old TV that makes reading the text difficult, but that would be the same for either system. XD

Which practices do you mean specifically? I completely agree that the PS3 has made some really stupid mistakes and choices, but I think all three of the current gen systems have had some amount of that. I'm curious to hear your perspective on what Microsoft has done better.

In my personal opinion, Nintendo stole E3 this year. They did what they haven't done for the past couple of E3s and focused on one really big thing, games. Yes, they were games that we've seen before and knew some were coming. But come on, some of these games were hard not to be excited about, GoldenEye? Mother ******** GOLDENEYE? Donkey Kong making a reappearance? Not as some kind of bongo rhythm game, but as an honest to god throw-back to its 2D days. Keep the formula simple.

And then the 3DS? When they first announced it I shrugged it off, but seeing the game line-up? The third-party development behind it? The rave reviews about how this thing actually FUNCTIONS? Man, I'm excited.

ZeloOmega is my PS3 name. I haven't jumped online in a while though, but I can to accept.

Exclusives are definitely what can make or break the sale of a system, MGS4 sold me on the PS3 because I knew Kojima wasn't going to break for the 360 (although I'm looking at mainly blaming that on contracts, rather than Kojima because he seems to want to work with everyone), then games like Demon's Souls and Little Big Planet. However, if I were going to stick with multi-platform games only, definitely embracing the 360. Paying for Live feels like a kick, but man... For all the content and vastly superior online community, I'm willing to throw down the $40 for it.
