"Morning." Kai said gruffly, poking through the ashes with a stick. "At least the rain cleared up now." He said. Kai shrugged and dropped the stick down into the damp ashes, then stood and walked to the edge, looking around for anything suspicious. From carefull observations, it looked quiet enough. So Kai decided to relax. His shoulders became less tense, as he kneeled down before the edge of the cliff.

Catching a hold of herself, she clenched her fists and stood up. In and out she breathed, trying to keep herself calm.
It's something I gotta face one day... or another...
Cautiously, she walked next to Kai before the cliff. Her eyes went big, but clenching her hands helped her regain control. The height of the cliff gradually became smaller in her eyes, which gave her a small relief.
"I-I wonder how steep it is..." she stuttered silently until she shook her head and cautiously sat down next to Kai. "So how are you feeling this morning?"

Kotarou gave a great yawn as he stood up fromm siting against the wall near the entrance, somehow he barely managed to stay awake the night. "G-Good morning." he stuttered out sleepily.
Asuka floated out of the cave towards Kotarou awake and rested "Ko-chan~!" Asuka chirped at him as she hugged him from behind. "Morning!" she said with a smirk before turning to Kai and Candy, "Good morning to you two too!" she added.
"Morning Asuka." Kotarou replied with another yawn.

Morning light flooded the entrance of the cave and awoke Domeki from his light sleep. He opened his eyes and immediately got up, not aware that he had fallen asleep.
Taerel's head slid off of Domeki's stomach and hit the cold stone floor with a thud. "Gak!!" she shouted, sitting up straight. "O-ouchiee.." she stuttered, rubbing the back of her head where she had fell on. She slowly stood up and exited the cave. Domeki trailed closely behind, still in panther form.
Taerel stretched her arms out beside her and yawned. "Morning!"

Candy looked back to the cave to see Kotarou and Taerel waking up.
"Good morning!" she chimed as she waved to them. She couldn't see spirits, but noticed something special about Kotarou and smiled.
She lifted herself up, unaware of the cliff, and nearly slipped completely off the edge. In an attempt to get back up to the surface, she clung to the roots of trees for dear life. She closed her eyes and attempted to pull herself up, but was much too weak. In fact, she couldn't even do one pull up in all of her school physical education classes.
Maybe I should climb down... but what if I can't find my way back up to them?

"C.. CANDY!!" Taerel shouted in shock. She sprinted as fast as she possibly could over to the girl and took her by both wrists. She attempted to pull her up. Taerel was, if not just as small, even more small than Candy, so pulling her up was a hard task. Domeki ran to Taerel, his large, yellow eyes widening. He couldn't help her pull the girl up, but was ready to catch the two with his mouth if they fell.

Kotarou ran over to help Taerel pull Candy up; he grabbed one of Candy's wrist and began trying to pull her up. Not having slept last night left him with less energy then usual, but he hoped it would be enough. He continued to pull with all his strenght.
Asuka in the meantime floated down the side of the cliff and grabbed Candy by her waist and tried to help by lifting her him closer to the cliff. Now Asuka wasn't exactly very strong, but none the less her efforts seemed to be helping.

"Uh-uhm... quite the predicament we have here?" Candy stuttered with a nervous smile. "D-don't worry! I can get myself... up... or down... somehow..."
She glanced down to the ground below her and shuddered.
"I-I'm sorry!" she whimpered, since she hated being the center of attention.
Suddenly, she felt something around her waist. Something trying to pull her up. Mustering all of the strength she had, she grasped a hold of Kotarou and Taerel's hands. With her feet, she tried crawling up to the top.

Taken aback by being pushed aside by the boy who had run to Candy's aid, Taerel frowned slightly. She didn't know if the boy had decided to join the group or not; he had invited himself without so much as a consent.
Taerel's sore body did not cease to try and pull the girl up to the top of the cliff. When she was sure that Candy was safe, she embraced her in a tight hug.
Without thinking over her actions, she let go quickly. "I'm.. um.. sorry." she said, forcing out a laugh. She rubbed the back of her head with a sheepish smile on her face. She had not known any of these people for very long, but she had felt more at home than she ever had in all her twelve years living at home. She felt oddly reassured with the people around her. If it was all just in her head or not, she was still not sure.
Domeki took several steps backwards to give room for Candy.

Huffing with relief, Candy hugged Taerel back with no hesitation. She also embraced Kotarou in her arms.
"Thank you, guys," she sighed with a calm smile. "I shouldn't have gone back to this edge anyway. Trying to face my fears as fast as possible wasn't the greatest... idea... All in all, I'm glad nobody was hurt."
Wiping the sweat off her forehead, Candy closed her eyes. She wished that she wasn't so airheaded, but knew she had to put up with it. Crawling further towards the cave, she lifted herself up.
"Well, I suppose I better get cookin'!" she chimed, smiling back to Kotarou and Taerel.

Kotarou was caught by surprise as Candy hugged him, he wasn't expecting this but out of unconscience action he hugged her back slightly. "Your ... welcome." he said slowly, still a bit surprised.
Asuka on the other hand was not exactly happy. "Hey! Don't touch my Ko-chan!" she said a bit angry, she was attached to Kotarou maybe in a different way then what was expected.
Kotarou just turned to Asuka and said "Calm down, whats the big deal?"
"Hmph!" was all Asuka said as she turned around.
Kotaour walked over near the cave and sat down against a wall, he was really tired now, but he wasn't able to sleep now, he had too much on his mind. Why am I acting like this? I barely know any of them, yet ... i'm acting like i've been with them for a while. This isn't normal. And ... they've accepted me, why doesn't this make sense? he thought to himself, a bit lost and confused.

Domeki felt like ripping the mouth clean off the obnoxious, rude little girl's head. He certainly would have, if it wasn't for the uproar it would have caused. He needed to restrain himself. He had gotten to a bad start with both Kotarou and Asuka. He knew he could do nothing about it, since they had already seemed to adopted the rest of the group as their own without either of the two noticing. He took a deep breath through his mouth, and exhaled out of his nose. His tensed muscles relaxed as he brought his shoulders down. His large, yellow eyes closed as he nodded in Candy's direction with a slight expression of approval before heading back to sit at the mouth of the cave.
Taerel stayed up and sat down out of exhaustion. She pulled a loose strand of pink hair out of her face. She gave a smile- half to herself and half to Candy for what they had both accomplished. She looked up at the early morning sky, her large eyes a soft purple.

Candy approached the damp ashes of the fire pit and studied it. To make a fire, she would need stone and wood. However, even thinking about fire brought back memories of her half sister Ginger. She was a pyromaniac, in a way, and would burn even the youngest of trees to ashes. It saddened Candy, and that is what motivated Ginger.
However, Candy was glad that she had run into Taerel and Kai back at the infirmary. If it weren't for them, she would've been in hiding right now.
Taking Ginger out of her thoughts, Candy searched for something dry to burn. She lifted the dry ashes from the bottom of the pit and spread them over the damp ones. They were still a little warm, which gave her at least a little bit more hope in the art of fire making.

When the others finally started to talk, Amitia opened her eyes and observed the situation from the border. Again she stucked in her own thoughts, without helping when no one asked for some. She hadn't had any sleep at all, just absolute peace like she had been in hypnosis. But even deep hypnosis can not compensate sleep. Feeling a bit tired she straightened her hair and sighed when she stood up.
"Shall we eat soon? The meat won't stay fresh for much more time", she said, not to particularly anyone, but expecting answer from someone. She remembered Candy had been ready to cook last evening.
