DemiImp This morning I stole my own ps2. Because someone, quite possibly the owner of this thread, has been shrugging off something I've been asking him to do. Oh man. I'm getting desperate. Taking away his entertainment and then posting about it on Gaia... I think I've seriously hit a new low sad Too bad I'm not addicted to any games right now. crying I had a test today in Plant Physiology, which I'm pretty sure I failed, and a 6 pg. paper for MOD. Yesterday was a paper for EOP and an outline for a 4-5 pg. paper in RIAH for a book I hadn't read. In other words, ******** vacuuming. That's maintenance's job anyways.

This random thought inspired by Mooby the Golden Sock:
During the last 3 weeks of senior year of college, there are many more important things to worry about than vacuuming a small 7 x 5 foot (or whatever area it is) piece of carpet.

Mooby's Official Priority List for the Rest of the Semester
Survival > Class > Work > Grad Finale > Band > FNM > Philosophical Discussions > Entertainment > Online Games > Procrastination > Class Work > Pretending to Study > Studying > Cashing Checks > Getting Gas for Car > Refilling Prescriptions > Judo Class > Talking on the Phone > Sleep > Doing Nothing at All > ... > Cleaning My Room > ... > Cleaning the Apartment
So yeah, I'll eventually get to the vacuuming. It's on the list, after all.

You know what pisses me off? Our school is so cheap that they've kept washers from the MLK days! Why the hell would they keep machines where you have to be white to press the "whites" button and colored to press the "colors" button?! But you know what makes the situation all that much more laughable? The driers they've kept are from the "integration" years.

Have you noticed that segregated or not, the press is always permanent? In fact, I just saw my reply to your reply to this post in the tabloids. How the hell is that possible?

This is what results when a bored Mooby takes 190k gold into the Marketplace and goes on a bidding spree:

I'll be highly surprised if I don't get it all back.

So last night, I saw Closeth cutting up the plastic of the 6-pack ring for soda cans. I asked him if he was trying to save the animals, and he replied, "Yeah, but mostly I'm doing it because I'm bored." I pointed out that it will likely end up under 8 tons of waste in a dump, and never come close to having an animal stick its head in it. He reiterated his boredom.
But it got me thinking: why do we cut the damn things up in the first place? I mean, I sometimes do it as well, and I feel guilty when I don't. But why? Do I actually care about the baby seagull that may or may not get caught in it on the beach? No, not really.
Then it occurred to me: when we cut up the rings, we feel like we're making a difference. We feel that our actions could possibly save some cute little bird's life, no matter how small the odds. It makes us feel comfortable with throwing out the ring, because we can sit back and say, "See? I threw out the ring! I'm not an uncaring person!"
And why do we need to feel this way? So we don't have to face the truth. The truth is that we never needed the 6-pack in the first place. We could have drank water, and sent the $2.00 that we spent on soda to someone who could have actually used it. We save the baby seagulls so that we don't have to worry about saving the starving Ethiopian children.
Now that you all feel guilty, I'm going to go grab a soda.

Can't say I've ever had the problem, because I buy my softdrink cans either singly or in boxes of about 30.
