I hope I see you again Maggie. She watched the older filly trot away. When she was out of hearing range, she let out a heavy sigh, and sent back to where she was standing before.

A star streaked across the midnight sky; a trail blazing behind it. The starlight blazed in the eyes of a lone stallion standing ontop of a hill. His gaze was fixed to the sky above; the starts paterened in the heavens the same as they were on his coat. His name was Orion. He was new to the ranch. Though, his eye were glued to the sky above. He didn't know how long he'd been there. he was never sure. Everything just seemed timeless to him. Though, the weight of the world was now trying to draw him to interact with it. Even though he wished for his eyes to remian up to the stars; where his heart was.

Lita Rutherford
hmm...LI! *tosses little crazy Li out all by her lonsom.* well...at least, Li's other personality....and her...

A small, dark colored Filly faced along. Her mother and brother had fallen asleep, her father and sister were no where to be found. it was time for the dark Li to come out to play. Eyes shinign with a dark and playful manner, the foal payed no mind to the face she may be in danger. She smirked when she saw a full grown stallion ,much larger then her, up ahead. She went faster and skidded to a halt beside him. She grinned up at him and laughed. "Hello mr." she said.

Orion thought he heard a voice. The stars blinked hopefully at him, but he knew that he could not go back to them. Thinking about the voice, he tore his jeweled eyes from the sky, and looked around him for the one that had spoken. The landscape was dark; there was no moon out tonight. That's why the stars were so clear and bright tonight. He would not be able to see the landscape really well until morning. Then he caught sight of a filly, and lowered his head to see her. Hello there he said in a deep voice; like when one spoke in the universe

Lita Rutherford
D.L *dark Li* looked curiously at Orion before her face scrunched up and she made a noice like a painful grunt. Her legs gave way and she fell. When she looked up again her eyes were innocent and shy. "w-where am i? w-who are you? w-why did the scary girl bring me here?" she asked quietly.

Orion looked down at the girl with a curious expression. She reminded him Gemini; the twins. She seemed to be two different sides in one body. You are out in the fields he told her. I'm not sure why you were brought here. I just know that you arrived here. Under the open sky.

Lita Rutherford
Li began to shake. "i-its so cold out...a-an dark...i-i'm scred..." she stuttered, tears forming. "I want my mommy!" she cried. Her face scrunched up again. "n-no...no no...leave me alone..." she said in a whisper, as if to herself. "oh stop being such a cowerd, little girly." she whispered again, this time her tone harsh and more comanding. "-n-no, please..." she collapsed from the effort to control her darker half.

Orion looked at the filly beside him. This was most certainly a Gemini, though stuck in one form. A light and dark, she supposed. Much like the stars themselves. They had their good points and their bad. This just showed both in about their extremes. You seem to have a twin within you, little one. How did you ever manage that?

Lita Rutherford
Li had passed out cold. She began to shake and whimper in her sleep. Soon she bagan to talk, as if she were holding a conversation. "why do you insist on keeping me locked up?" "you scare me. your mean and scary." "I'm jsut playful, thats all, i just was somone to play with me. I hate being locked up." "but you scare me..."

Sky, i gotta go. save this please? i liek how its going, and its developing Li's charecter a LOT.

(orion RP continues on pg301)

Orion looked down at the little filly. One of her twin souls reminded him of an Aries. The other was much like a cancer. That really didn't sound much of a good combination, especially in such a form. This young filly would be an interesting one to see grow at one point. He continued to stand, and to watch her; wondering what would happen next to her, with two such different creatures in her.

Lita Rutherford
Li sprang up suddely, coughing and sputtering. She looked up at Orion with big, scared eyes. "Help me?" she asked softly. "please don't let the mean girl take over again...please help me....I don't want mommy to be angery with me...and to not want me..." she said with a sniff. Inside her D.L sighed and sat back, letting her lighter half speak with the stallion. Really now, was fun to much to ask?

Orion tilted his head at the filly, thinking. I am sorry little one. I cannot help you with this. It is something that only you can handle. I think, though, that you are going to have to come up with a compromise with you're 'mean girl', your other half. You are going to be spending your entire life with her. If you are able to come to an agreement now, life will be easier as time goes on.

Lita Rutherford
"But...But she pushes herself out, and it hurts when she does it...and she runs and gets us lost, and she makes mommy mad and tired....I don't want mommy to not like us and wish we were gone...." she said quietly, as if trying to keep D.L from hearing. The latter persona just rolled her eyes. "is there no way to ger rid of her?" she asked lightly. Oh that was it. "Hay! that hurt, really. get ride of me? i am you, you are me. unless you kill yourself i'm staying right here!" D.L shouted angerly. Li shivered when she got control again and looked up at Orion with big glass eyes.

Orion once again looked thoughtful. And you can't work it out between the two of you; you'll let her out at some point, if she doesn't force herself out. Something like that. I am not sure what else to tell you except for that. Though, I also do not know you that well yet little one, so my advice is only from knowing you for the short time that I have.

Lita Rutherford
Li continued to stare up at Orion before bursting into tears, reapeating over and over, almost histaricly, that she didn't want hermother to hate her. D.L once more rolled hereyes but sat quietly in the back of their mind, watching her sweet half cry. She felt bad, accually, that this sweet girl was tormented so by her presence. She listened to everything Orion had said and sighed. Might was well attempt to get along with Li, and try and work somthing out so they both didn't suffer.

I don't think your mother could hate you he said as he reached down and gently nuzzled the filly; trying to bring her a little comfort. It takes much before a mother will hate their child, and even then they can't completely hate them.

Lita Rutherford
Li sniffed. "r-really? even when their child is..." she sniffed once more. "is...is broken like me?" she asked. Like any small child sshe refered to herself as being "broken" because of somthing being wrong or diffrent with her.

Broken? he asked, a bit in surprise. Why would you consider yourself broken? I don't see anything wrong with you. So you are two souls in one body. Each one here has their own unique trait. He told her this gently, and softly; well, softly for him. His voice was still like a clap of thunder overhead, but at least it was quieter then it was. I haven't been here long enough to really be able to tell what the others here on the ranch have. But I am sure that there are those that are different. It would be quiet around here if we didn't have our differences. And we wouldn't learn the lessons we do. He looked back up to the heavens.

Lita Rutherford
"we're not broken?" It was D.L this time, and she sounded surprised. "we're not broken?" Li echoed. Now both girls looked out throught the same confused eyes at Orion. for the first time the two felt the same thing, they were one for this moment.

Orion could help but smile at the foal, and her two sides. He shook his head at them, a lock of his mane falling over his ear, and covering one eye. No. You're not broken at all. You are special. You are unique. That's what makes you you. And my differences make me me. As well as your father, and your mother, and their parents and sisters. You will notice that no one is the same as the other.

Lita Rutherford
"but no one else is as diffrent as us. We have two people in here, or have you forgotten." D.L said. "others, such as aunt Lady, only have physical problems." The dark half snorted. For a young girl she acted much older.

Orion couldn't help but chuckle. That you know of little one. Can you say that you've met every horse here on the ranch? Who says that there isn't someone different in one of the other herds? You have just begun your lives. No one is certain what growing will bring to themselves. As you grow, you may loose that other half that is you now. One does not know until it has happened.

Lita Rutherford
"Who will lose who? Will i lose Li..." D.L began. "Or will i lose D.L..." Li finished. both owned the right to the body as much as the nexted. Both of them thought along the same lines, but they were in fact poler opposites, twins trapped together forever...

Orion shrugged. I don't know. As I said, it is a possibility that it may happen. Or it may not. Time does strange things to those that must reside in it. He shook his mane; removing the lock from over his eye.
Lita Rutherford
Li sighed and lay down, curling up. "are you all alone?" she asked softly, looking at the large stallion. There was somthing odd about him now that she stoped to think about it. D.L agreed with her on that, she could tell.

Orion smiled gently at her. Here on earth, yes, I guess you can say that I am alone. However, I always have the heavens to keep me company, and the stars that help me guide my way. I am never lost when they are bright in the heavens. He looked up once more at the bright points above, and couldn't help but give them a soft smile, like one would give to an old friend.

Lita Rutherford
The stars? DL scoffed at this but let Li keep control. "you don't have any brothers or sisters or mommy or daddy or a mate or babies?" Li questioned innocently. She thought every adult had a special someone.

Orion shook his head. No. There is no one for me. That I have found. It has just been me and that sky. No Mate. No children. No Siblings. No Mother. No Father. No friends either. I am a lone creature; a lone entity.

Lita Rutherford
"do you like being alone? there are lots of peopel in our herd that could be your friend." Li said, smiling.

Well, I don't see it as really being alone. Sometimes I do like being in the company of others. I am mostly a solitary person. It's usually just me and the sky. Though, occasionally, i do have a few run-ins. He gave a small smile down to the foal.

Lita Rutherford
"you mean like me and D.L!" she said happily. She was, for once, finally happy. Orion and his talk had calmed her and made her eccept D.L. She now knew it wasn't all bad and that they could get along and be happy...

(340)

Orion smiled down at the little filly. He enjoyed it when those around him found a balance to themselves. And this one seemed to gain at least a little balance, or at least was on her way.

Lita Rutherford
Li bounced happily. "do you wanna meet my mommy?"She asked sweetly. "you can explain how you helped me! Mommy will be really happy." she said.

Orion smiled and shook his head. I am not much one to mingle with others little one. I am not quite sure how to react to others. I have been alone a while. Though, maybe if you would bring your mother here, I could meet her.

Lita Rutherford

Li seemed to deflate a little. "oh..." the nshe brightened. "ok! I'll be right back with mommy!" she giggled, D.L rolling her eyes at the lighter side's happyness, and darted off. "be right back!"

Orion smiled as the little filly as she darted off, and settled down to wait for the filly to return with her mother. At least he would meet another when he was still under the open sky.

Lita Rutherford
Li skidded to a hault when she found Nor, and nudged her excitedly. "Mommy! mommy wake up! you have to meat this stallion! He was so nice and he helped me and D.L get along!" she said, daceign around.

Nor looked at ther daughter sleeply. "what? Li, what are you...woah!" she blinked wider awake when she felt Li attempt to push her in the direction of Orion. "ok ok..." she said.

Li smiled and darted back to where Orion was, Nor following.

Orion was waiting for the mare and foal to arrive again. While he waited, he absently grazed on the grass at his feet. It was starting to loose its flavor because of the cold. But the cold did make the stars shine that much brighter.

Lita Rutherford
Li skidded and stoped beside Orion, danceing with excitment. "Back!" she said happily. She looked back to her mother, who was following a it slower. "Mommy! hurry up!" she said.

Nor blinked, still not fully awake. She trotted over and stoped beside Li. "now whats all the excitment about?" she questioned.

Orion smiled at the mare, and bowed his head gracefully at her. Good evening. I am sure that this lively little one belongs to you. Though, if there is something to be told, she has to tell it. Orion smiled at Li and winked at the little foal.

Lita Rutherford
The black colored foal turned scarlet for a second, before grinning. "Mommy, remeber how i always kept running off? Well, he knows why! and he helped me and D.L be happy and not fight!"

Nor blinked in confuseion. She nodded to the stallion. "I'm Nor." she said, "and yes, Li is my daughter. Now, Li, what are you talking about? who is D.L?" she asked.

I am Orion. It's a pleasure to meet you. He looked at Li, and nodded in encouragement to Li. She doesn't quite understand what you're saying. Do you want me to try Li, or do you want to continue?

Lita Rutherford
Li seemed to ignore Orion and stared up at Nor. "Mommy...are you ok? is somthing wrong?" She asked innocently.

Nor shook her head. "No dear, i'm accually better then i have been, just a bit worried about your sister and you...now perhaps your friend can make a bit more sence." she said, looking at Orion. "please explain." she said.

Li smiled and nodded to Orion. "mabye she'll understand you better cause she's a grown up to." Li said. "Mabye she'd understand you better if you weren't so hyper." D.L said, a bit annoyed. "be quiet, D.L, its not nice to interupt." "and its not nice to annoy people."

Nor stared a bit at her daughter. She knew there was somthing odd about her, but this. She looekd to Orion for an anwser.

Orion nodded to to Li, and turned to Nor. Well, it seems your daughter is a twin, though her twin has no body, and shares her own. Li has two souls in her, and they are two different entities. She has been afraid of the other that has been in her, and has been running away so that she would not hurt you. However, now she has accepted that both of them are the same, and that they are to live together. She's not afraid of being two different souls now. He hoped that had made it clear to the foals mother.

Lita Rutherford
Nor took a deep breath and attempted to stay on her feet. One daughter who couldn't hear, thoe other with multiple personalities. just great. "I see." she said softly, looking at her daughter.

Li's smile faded some. "I...I'm not broken..." she whispered to herself. "I'm not broken..." D.L echoed. Both sides once more felt the same feeling, this time sadness. What if their mother did not accept them. What if they were tossed aside?

There isn't anything really wrong with your daughter, Orion said, stepping into the conversation when he heard the mothers breath, and the smile drop a bit from Li's face. She will adjust to it better as she grows. But the fact that she is adjust already at such an early age, proves much about your daugher. If she continues with this progress, others might not even notice the twins when she is older, because they will blend a bit. Though, there is nothing wrong to be double soul. She is blessed.

Lita Rutherford
"I didn't ask for your input." Nor snapped at the stallion. She looked at Li. "lets go Li." she said, turning to leave.

Li lowered her head. "I am broken..." she said, sniffing. Even D.L was crying. "I am broken...I am not wanted..." she said.

Orion stepped forward before Nor. His ears back. He was not one to get angry, but this was a rare exception. I want you to turn and take a good look at your daughter, he snapped; his silver eyes flashing light lightning in a storm cloud. She is trying her hardest to make you not hate her. And for less then a day, she was happy to think that she was not broken. And now she's feeling as though she is again; even though it is not any of her fault, and she was born the way she is. If you had a child who was blind, would you blame them just because they have no eyes to see this world with? Would they be broken to you because they are not perfect? The steam of his breath billowed from his nose in the cold night air.

Lita Rutherford
"Don't speak as if your in my head! you know nothing of what i am thinking." Nor snapped back. She looked back at Li. "Lets go home Li, i've been worried sick over you and its late, you need your rest." She looked back at Orion. "You better know somthing, and know it well. I will never hate my daughter. Or any of my children. My other daughter is deaf, yet she is with her father right now, most likely sleeping peacefully. I KNEW somthing was diffrent about her, but i said nothing about it to her because i didnt' what her to think she was diffrent then anyone else! thats for ruining my attempts." She all but snarled.

Li lightly nizzled her mothers leg, standing close to the mare, as if to hide herself from the angery spat.

She isn't different from anyone else! he snapped back. Not really. She has a special trait, but we all have that. His ears were flat, and he turned from the mare. I would almost feel sorry for her. You want to hide it from her. No one should have things hidden from them, especially if it is about themselves. it makes it a harder blow later if they have to find it out themselves. Then, softly, to the foal. There is nothing wrong with you. You are not broken. Don't ever think that.

Lita Rutherford
"Mommy...please don't fight..." Li said quietly. "Please..." D.L echoed.

Nor looked down at Li, her eyes softening. She nuzzled her as tears came to her eyes. She lay donw, right there, and cried silently, nuzzlign her daughter.

Orion watched the pair, and turned his head back around to give the pair some privacy. Though, he wasn't going to move. It was his hill after all. But he felt sorry for the pair, though he also knew they had stuff to work out. His eyes turned back to the heavens above, though his ears stayed alert for dangers. He would not let them be hurt while he was watching.

Lita Rutherford
One last time Nor nuzzled her daughter bfore standing. SHe walked over to Orion, tears drying, and kicked him. Not terribly hard, mind you, but it still had to hurt. "Never tell me how to raise my child." she snorted. "I can figure it out myself."

Li giggled lightly at what her mother said. Then she reilized Orion might get made as what her mother did and became silent, wtaching.

Orion moved aside as Nor kicked at him; her hooves lightly grazing him, and snorted at her. He just looked at her, and then shook his head. Now he knew where the aries soul had gotten it's principles. Most certainly from the mother. Hopefully, the other side had inherited from the father. You are most apparentlyh new to this is all I have to say. Though sometimes having an outside view helps more then hinders. But it is your family, and your mistakes shall be your own, and your childrens as well. He shrugged, and then turned to look at Li.

Lita Rutherford
"damn right." she snorted. "My mother didn't have help when she raised me and mu sister, who, might i add, is blinde, and normal. I am haveing to deal with way more then i expected almost by myself!" She turned away, muttering about how if she would have been allowed to get a herd that she wouldn't be so frazzled and would be more happy.

Li smiled at Orion, blushing a little bit, and trotted to her mom.

Orion smiled back at Li, and quietly told her, so that only she could hear If you ever need to talk little one, I will be here. Just come and find me. sleep well. And as the two went away, he watched them thoughtfully as they left, though he did not muse aloud his thoughts. He put his head down to graze then, and the night was coverd with the sound of his grazing, and the circkets in the field.

Mirage paced around, looking at his herd grounds to make sure that nothing was wrong with them. The winter rains had started, the water just a few degress short of being snow, and the clouds thick and angry. The afternoon seemed like early morning, because of the darkness of the sky, and the winds pushed the raindrops hard against the eyes and skin like a swarm of angry bee stings. The torrent caused several of the arroyos were teaming with muddy water, and Mirage knew that a few of his herd didn't know the danger of flash-flooding. He wanted to make sure that no one had gotten caught in any flash-flooding, or were trapped somewhere.

As he walked along the edge of his herd grounds, he heard a terrified whinny. His ears perked, and he picked up his pace. That sounded like a young horse; maybe even a foal. And even though he didn't have any young in his herd, he knew someone close by who had his own children; Andias and SunDancer. He trotted through the muddy mass of ground, trying to look through the increasing torrent to find the source of the sound. And there is was! Located on a rise in the river was a small red colt with golden wings. His hooves weren't in the water yet, but the water was rising quickly, and soon he was going to be swamped.

Mirage examined the water, and watched it rush past in its raging torrent. As well as logs moving in the swift current. Though, if he didn't move fast enough, the water would get faster, especially with the increased rain, and the young colt would have no chance against the deadly water. And that decided him. Hold on! he called to the colt and he ran upstream a bit, so that the current current would carry him down to the colt, and he plunged into the icy water.

His felt like he had run into a rock wall; his breath stilling in his throat as the icy water enveloped him. But he forced his lungs to move as his legs churned under the water. The current was faster then he thought, so he moved as fast as he could in the water; his hooves sometimes encountering rocks, and the encounters sent painful joints up his legs. But he didn't let that stop him. He struggled forward; muddy water sloshing in his eyes, ears, and nose. Finally, he reached ground, where the foal was stranded, and made his way up the rappedly dissapearing island.

Sunfire looked up at the stallion that had come to rescue him; his small frame shaking with fear and cold. His legs were splayed for balance, and his tiny wings were drenched and clamped firmly to his sides. He looked up at Mirage under the sopping bangs that were, and nickered scaredly at the stallion. He wasn't sure what to do. Though, he hopped this strange stallion could help him get home.

Mirage looked down at his young charge, and tried to figure out what the best way to get him back across the teeming water. And there was only one thing he could think of. He laid down on the ground, though sitting up, and looked at the foal. Get on. The colt shook his head and took a small step back. Mirage tilted his ears back a bit. We don't have time for this. Get on. Once again the colt shook his head. Would you rather die out here?

Sunfire gulped, and then took a step forward. Are you going to get me home? he asked. He was shaking even harder now.

Mirage watched the colt shiver, and couldn't help but give him a small encouraging smile. Well, you might stay with my herd until the rains stop, but yes, I'll find a way to get you home. Now, climb on. This time, the colt thew his legs over Mirage's back and centered himself on him. Mirage struggled to his feet, making sure the colt was in place, and then waded back into the water.

The current was stronger now. It was going to require more strength now to ford the muddy river. Especially with the weight that was added to him. Mirage paced carefully into the water, and as he reached the edge of the island and was about to step into the torrent, a log came down the river and hit the leg he was standing on. His leg was taken out from under him, and he crashed to the ground, nearly dislodging the colt. The colt squealed in pain as he hit Mirage's back-bone hard as he fell, and then his legs tightened on Mirage's barrel. Mirage pulled his bruised leg out from under him, and fell head-long into the stream.

The pressure of the current broad-sided him, and nearly rolled him over in the water. But he somehow kept upright, and forced himself forward. He was tired, he was sore, and he just wanted to lay down somewhere. But he had another life depending on him; his grandchild in a way. And he would not let his aches get in the way of this young colts life. As he reached the shore he had come from, his footing slipped, and he crashed over sideways, and the colt slipped from his back with a terrified whinny. Mirage pulled himself off his knees, and turned to save the colt, except that he had made his way the shore. Mirage had blocked the current enough with his body, that the colt had been able to struggle up to where the sand was, and pull himself out of the water.

Mirage struggled up the bank as well, and collapsed onto the ground. He was sore, his leg throbbed horribly, and he was freezing. And it was then that he felt a warm body snuggle into his side, and he lifted his head to see the red wet colt that was there. He turned his head, to nudge the colt close, and kept his head there; sheilding the small body from as much rain as he could.

Andias was searching frantically for her son. He had run away to explore last night after he had gotten into a fight with his sister, and the rains had started and hadn't stopped all night. And he hadn't come home, and now she couldn't find him anywhere. She prayed that nothing had happened to him. Andias was glidding over the storm currents, and was following an arroyo that was between where SD and her was settled, and that's when she saw a dark spot on the ground. And beside it was a red coat with gold wings.

Her heart stopped as she recognized who they were, and dived down to land beside them. She quickly ran over to the two, and nudged her son, trying to rouse him. When his small head raised from below Mirage's and blinked beadily at her, she sighed in relief, and tears welled in her eyes. She reached down to nuzzle him. I'm so happy you are alright. I don't know what I would have done if something had happened to you.

I'm alright, Sunfire told his mother, nuzzling her back. He came to save me. I don't even know who he is. He nuzzled at the stallion at his side.

Andias stepped forward, and nuzzled Mirage in thanks, nibbling at his mane a bit. This is your fathers adopted father. His name is Mirage. She smiled at her son, and nuzzled him again, and then went back to nuzzling Mirage. Her smile dropped though as the older stallion didn't rouse under her nuzzling, and she nuzzled him harder. There was still no response from him. Mirage? Concern was in her voice. She came to the other side of Mirage and lay down. He was kinda cold. She lay her head on his back, and tried to lend him some of her warmth.

Sunfire looked over the stallions back to his mother. Mom? What are you doing? What's wrong?

She didn't want to alarm her son, so she gave him a half-smile. He's just a little cold. I'm trying to warm him up. And she continued to stay there, putting one of her blue wings over him to help serve as a blanket; trying to take the chill out of the unconcious stallion. She heard a voice call her name, and she turned up to see Isis running her way. If things couldn't get worse. But then, this could also be better. At least Isis would know. Isis, come quick! Somethings wrong with your father!

Isis sped up when she heard Andias call for her. She came upon the other mare laying there, and stopped short. Her father was there on the ground; bruises evident on his coat, and dried blood from scratches. His head was wrapped around to where Sunfire was currled at his side. She came forward, and nuzzled him, but he did not move under her caress. I'm going to go get Sky. Watch him Andias. She turned and sped away before she could hear a reply.

Andias watched Isis run towards the ranch. All she could do was lay her head back on Mirage's back. And all through the day, she prayed.

Sun stood under the long branches of one of the trees, in her and Mirage's herd grounds, to shield herself from the rain. It had calmed down a great deal but it was still too cold and wet for her liking. She lifted her head a bit and looked around. No sign of anyone. No Mirage. No Isis. No anyone. She waited a little longer before trotting out into the rain to go search for her mate and daughter.

Isis was running still, her sides aching as she headed towards the ranch house. She hurt from the desperate run, and she was worried about her father. She didn't think he had been hurt so badly before. Maybe his human could help him.

Andias was still at Mirage's side, along with her son. He had warmed a bit, but Mirage still hadn't moved. She still had a wing over him, and was still pressed close to him to keep him warm.

Sun, now soaked from the rain and cold from the blowing wind, was still searching for her family when she spotted a strange figure off in the distance. As she got closer she realized one was Andias and the other Mirage but something was different. Mirage wasn't moving. She ran up to both of them, now seeing that Sunfire was there as well, and leaned down to nuzzle Mirage's head. "What happened?", she asked, looking to Andias.

Andias looked up as Sun drew close. Oh no! What would she tell the older mare. Sunfire got lost, and apparently got trapped by a flash-flood. Mirage went to go get him out, from what Sunfire's told me. He fought the rapids to get my son. And he must have just exhaused himself so much. He was absolutely frigid when I found them; Mirage had Sunfire tucked against him, and was trying to keep the rain off of him so that he would say warm. She became more distraught as she told Sun the tale.

vollyballrocks91
Sun layed down on the other side of Sunfire and rested her head next to Mirage's. "Have you seen Isis? I can't find her", she said, moving closer to keep the little colt warm as well as try to keep Mirage warm.

Isis went to get help. She found us, and then went right from there. I don't know how far she has gotten, or if she has gotten the help yet. But I know that's where she is.

Orion was laying with his head resting on the back of his new companion; a cougar paterened much like he was. During the day, there was only one star he could see, and it was a very bright one. It blazed its way across the sky in a never-ending pattern of life. Though, even though he could not see the other stars that were hidden by their brothers bright glory, he could still feel their movements as they did their own dance across the heavens skies.

Duelist of Pokemon
Shadow-moon carefully stepped through the tall grasses of the meadow, making sure she was not to step on her companion below her hooves. Night had been with her for many months, his colors matching her own to a point; the bond they shared was powerful. Stopping for a moment, she watched as the snake took out a field mouse for a meal. She then settled down to crop at the sweet grass.

Orion lifted his head from the cougars back as he watched her ears perk at the sound of approaching hooves. He continued to listen as the hooves stopped, and then the being that owned them started to graze. Well, he had two options; lay there and pretend he and Midnight didn't exist, or stand up and introduce himself. Never one to be rude, he rose to his feet.

Duelist of Pokemon
Shadow lifted up from her grazing at the sound of hooves. She stood still and watched as a black stallion approached her from afar. She had two options; run off from this unknown horse or stay and introduce herself. Making a decision, she swallowed the mouthful of grass and shook out her mane a bit before stepping foreward.

Orion gave the young mare a charming smile as he stepped forward to greet her. As he neared, he gave a polite bow; bending his knee and decending gracefully to the ground, though far enough above it not to get his coat dirty. I hope that I am not intruding upon you. My name is Orion, named for a constilation of stars. What lovely name was given the pleasure of being graced to you?

Duelist of Pokemon
Shadow smiled at Orion, she had just met the boy and already she liked him. Stepping closer, she repeated his bow; it never hurt to be equaly polite. "Greetings to you, Sir Orion. I am Shadow-moon, although many just call me Shadow."

Ah, I knew there was a beautiful name, and it adorns you like a crown. But please, it is not Sir. I am just Orion. I am a humble servent of my breathren and friends in the sky. His gaze traveled upwards for a moment, looking at the dark blue sky of winter cold. It would be getting a deeper blue as the season wore on, and he was sure that at one point, it would be nearly black as the approaching snow storms arrived.

Duelist of Pokemon
Shadow blushed lightly at Orions' words towards her. "I....I-I am honored to meet...you...O-Orion...." Cursing herself for stuttering, she quickly ducked her head to look at anything but the stallion infront of her. Regaining her composure, she glanced up agin to find the horse staring up at the winter sky. Curious, Shadow stepped up beside him, glancing between him and whatever he was looking at. "Orion? Does something trouble you?"

Sunchaser leaped off of Volly's porch and trotted over to Sky's house to see if Mirage was still there or if he'd gone back to the herd. Walking up onto the porch she pawed at the door lightly, nickering for someone to open the door.

Sky heard someone at her door, and opened it to see Sun standing there. She smiled at the mare, and shook her head; toweling her hair dry. Sorry Sun. He's not here. He's over towards your pond. The grass is best over there, and he needs to get some weight back on him. She stepped back for a moment, grabbing two carrots from the basket by her door, and stepped forward again. Here. One for you and one for him. You just have to promise not to race him for a bit. He's not up to normal again yet, though he likes to try to pretend he is. She gave the mare before her an affectionate smile, and stroked her nose softly.

vollyballrocks91
Sun nodded and took the carrots gingerly in her mouth before nuzzling Sky's hand lightly. Jumping off the porch the mare headed back down to the pond at a light trot. A few minutes later she arrived at the pond and saw Mirage grazing quietly, and also looking rather thin. "So you finally decide to get out of the house and you don't come to get me. Typical", she teased as she nuzzled the stallion affectionately.

Mirage looked up from his grazing, and smiled at his mate. he looked just about like a male demon; resembling Barnabus, except with skin on. His legs looked thin, and his longer coat was a dull color. All he needed were the horns and the wings, and he would fit right in with the demonic crowd. He reached over and nuzzled Sun when she was close enough. I would have, but Sky sent me right over, with no questions. She even had frost escort me; wherever that young fox is hiding. I didn't have a chance. Though, I am glad you came to find me. I've been missing you.

vollyballrocks91
"Well it's a good thing she did, Mirage. Look at you, you're skin and bones, Sweetie." Sun placed both of the carrots in front of Mirage. "Here. Sky gave them to me but you could use both of them. You need all the nutrients you can get", she nodded. She nuzzled her head against Mirage's neck and nipped at his mane. "I missed you too."

Mirage took one of the carrots, and chewed on it. He gave the other one back to her. No, you eat it. I think we were supposed to share them. And I don't think I can eat much more. I've had nothing but grains and oats, grasses, carrots, and apples shoved down my throat. Along with a few horrible concoctions. I don't think my poor stomach can handle any more in it.

vollyballrocks91
"Alright. If you say so", she said, munching on the last carrot. "When do you think Sky will let you go back to the herd? I've been wanting to check in on Isis and Nova and see how they've been with the herd but I wanted you to come back with me."

As soon as she thinks I can make the journey over there. Right now, I am useless, and I can't walk very far. But maybe in a week or so I'll have enought strenght to make it back to the herd. I'm optomistic. And Skt won't let me go unless she's certain.

vollyballrocks91
"Okay, well until then you best get some rest so you get better soon." Sun looked around to make sure the coast was clear before whispering to Mirage. "Aqua came by a few days ago and....We might be grandparents!", she said happily. "You have to better by then so we can go see them when they're born."

He arched an eyebrow at her at the news, and grinned. Really? Well well. Who is the lucky stallion who would be the father? And I heard that Isis was looking and was interested in a stallion as well. As rumor had it. I was wondering if you knew anything about that?

vollyballrocks91
"It's that angel she met quite a while ago who was in our herd grounds. I think his name's Abarat", she nodded. "Isis? Really? No I never heard anything about Isis interested in anyone."

Yes, I think it's a colt that she met a while back as well. I'm not sure I've met him. Abarat, yes I have met him before. I didn't know they were planning on having children. It will be neat to see what they turn out to look like. I'm just glad Aqua is happy. He shuffled over to the lake, and lowered his muzzle to take a drink.

vollyballrocks91
"Well we'll have to meet him when we go back to the herd." Sun folded her legs underneath herself to lay down and rested her head against Mirage's leg. "Remember when the kids were just little rocks...And now they're all grown up."

We're not too old to have anymore, you know that, right? He stepped sideways, and lay down as well. There he rested his head against her shoulder. I've always wanted to see what another set of children would look like. he gave her a boyish grin.

vollyballrocks91
Sun looked at Mirage and nuzzled his head. "You mean it? I think it'd be great to have more children, Mirage."

He nuzzled back and smiled gently at her. Yes, I mean it. If you're willing. It would give us something to do as well. And drive Isis and the others nuts knowing that they have siblings. He gave her a playful wink at that.

vollyballrocks91
"Of course I'm willing. I love having children around, you know that", she said nibbling at his forelock happily. "And trust me, the kids already drive each oter nuts as it is", she giggled.

He laughed, enjoying the sound of her laughter. She hadn't laughed for a while.

vollyballrocks91
Sapphire trotted after Steel, happy that he had decided to come back. "Maggie will be thrilled that you came back."

Sun pawed gently at her mate's face playfully. "I don't know, that's why I asked you silly."

Aku walked around the ranch; his green eyes taking in everything. He stopped beneath a tree for the moment, spreading his wings and moving them gently to cause a breeze. The light penetrated through the thin membranes, and cast a filtered light over his hide.

Tie walked along silently, eyes faced forward, ignreing the world around her. Ears were back, showing any within seeing distance that she was not to be messed with. The mare continued on, pace slowly increaseing.

Aku watched the multi-colored mare pace, and his ears perked forward at the thought of some sport. He paced forward, pretending to have his attention on a hawk in the sky above, and he set his course to intercept the mares.

Tie snorted at nothing, stomped at nothing, and, tho it seemed like all she could look at was stright ahead, she in fact saw nothing...until a demon stallion appeared. her eyes widdened and she reared back. "who the hell are you!?"
