I just watched Bodyswap... and I have one thing to say:

RIMMER IN LISTER'S CLOTHES=SMEGGING CUTE!!

Even more so than in the screencaps I found. xd 'Cause you get to see him walking the way Lister does and stuff. Teehee.

Yeah, I think I like his series 2 and 3 hair better, too... but he's adorable ANY way, so... hehe. ninja

Okay, stupid American question time: What are kids your age into over there, anyway? What's the pop culture like?
PostPosted: Mon Apr 11, 2005 8:29 am

Agreed! wink Those clothes really suit him! I love that episode - he does such a good job at impersonating Lister it's unbelievable! eek The way he walks and everything!

Well, I'm probably generalising here, but most people my age seem to like going clubbing or to the pub at night...I'm not into that at all...I don't drink, and I would much prefer to go out to the cinema or eat out at a restaurant or something. But I don't have anything against people who like to do that! smile I guess I'd just rather do something else. ^_^

I love that episode too! (I tried to reply to the previous posts a minute ago but Gaia logged me out and ate my post... crying ) I think he's perfect in those clothes, lol!

People my age, aka. 13-16 (as you know, I'm 15) seem to enjoy:

Vandalism
Smoking
Drinking
Clubbing
Swearing
"Doing" each other (is it any wonder why Britain has the highest rate of teen pregnancy in EUROPE?!)
Beating each other up

Needless to say, my favourite things of writing, reading, drawing, playing music, etc. doesn't really appeal to them... and my mum wonders why I stay indoors most of the time?! sweatdrop

Huh. I suppose that's what people like to do here, only I'm sure the drinking is more heavy. America puts such a stigma on drinking; it's like they're daring teenagers and college students to go out and drink. European cultures seem to be more relaxed about it... I think there's actually a significantly lower instance of alcoholism in those countries than America. eek

(My parents are drug and alcohol counselors... I hear about this stuff a lot. sweatdrop )

I myself would prefer a movie to a beer. I've never even tried alcohol. Don't want to, either. xp

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Chris Barrie is a mimic genius. xd heart

That's so awesome that both you two don't like doing those sorts of things either ^____^ Most people my age do...I end up sitting in my uni room most nights since everyone goes down to the bar...>_< Glad to know that the Rimmettes all have the same view! biggrin I don't want to try alcohol either...it's just never appealed to me. xp

Yeah, he is a mimic genius! biggrin The clips I've heard from the audiobooks are awesome! eek

I posted this in the curry house as well, but may as well post it here since it's relevant 3nodding I tried a Rimmer avi edit ^_^

Whoops, you must've posted while I was typing up my last post. Yeah, teenagers are stupid. xd You just stick to what you're doing. I'm sure you won't regret it. eek

How high is the British pregnancy rate? Apparently it's been dropping here in America... but I think it's still something like 1 million teens every year get pregnant. sweatdrop

I'm just asking because I wanna see how reprehensible America is compared to you guys. xd

Awwww, cute Rimmer edit! whee Hey, can I use it in the Ask Rimmer thread? surprised

Somehow it doesn't have the right... snarky attitude, though. Though I'm sure that's just because it's on a Gaia avatar. xd

I SO wish I could get the audiobooks! gonk Hey... I wonder if they'd have them on iTunes... nah, probably not. But... I'm gonna look anyway! xd
PostPosted: Mon Apr 11, 2005 9:34 am

Yeah, it was hard to get the snarky attitude with the limited facial expressions of Gaia avatars xd But I'm glad you like it! I may play around with it a bit and see what I can do ^_^ Of course you can use it in the "Ask Rimmer" thread! biggrin I'd be honoured! whee

Yeah, I wish I could hear all the audiobooks, too! There are some bits of the book I'd really like to hear read aloud! ^_^

Dang, they don't have them in the iTunes music store. crying Oh well...

Thanks! I'll have to post him in the message next time someone asks a question. He's adorable. whee

By the way, I don't suppose you've made any more ultra-cool Bodyswap LJ icons that you didn't post? I'm hooked now. Hooked on the Lister-Rimmer. xd heart If you haven't, maybe I should make some... hrm... ninja I can't make 'em as good, though. Hehe.
PostPosted: Mon Apr 11, 2005 9:44 am

Here's him looking a little bit more snarky xd

I haven't made any more LJ icons themed on Bodyswap, but I probably could do! smile They're great fun to make ^_^ Yeah, Lister-Rimmer is awesome! biggrin The whole scene with the girdle - seriously, it sounds like it could really be his voice coming out of Rimmer's mouth! eek It's so well-timed!

xd The eyebrows! Teehee.

Yeah, it's pretty well done. For me it's still kinda weird, though, 'cause I'm really sensitive to dubbed voices. I dunno why. eek sweatdrop I mean... they kinda grate on my nerves. But I love Red Dwarf too much to let it do that. xd

If you ever make any more, I wanna know! xd Demanding, ain't I?

Ooh! I should make a "Pervy Lister-Rimmer Fancier" signature. I would definitely use that. Not that I don't use all the signatures I make. xd

Lotsa xd s again. eek <-- D'oh!

Back again! Sorry I keep disappearing; it seems that something has gotten ontp my comp and keeps bringing up popup adverts. I've ran Adaware 5 times in the last hour, it removes it, and it keeps getting back on... crying I don't know what I'm going to do...

It's my fault though. My friend told me about a new version of MSN which I foolishly put on which is the root of the problem. So this'll probably be my last post. I think I'll go watch RD to calm my nerves...

crying

Loving the edit! xd

Poor Jewel. Yes, go watch some RD. Rimmer will calm your nerves. wink xd

Get a Mac. Viruses are virtually nonexistant when it comes to Macs. Nobody bothers making them for Macs. xd

Sorry about your virus trouble, though. sad
PostPosted: Mon Apr 11, 2005 3:19 pm

I hope that you manage to get rid of the virus, Jewel! Looks like you need some of the Luck Virus wink *hands it over to her* Viruses can be a real pain sometimes >_<

But you're right...whenever I need to calm down or calm my nerves a little, Red Dwarf always does the trick ^_^ It's like medicine! biggrin

I'm going shopping tomorrow...might try and see if I can find "Backwards" or "Last Human" ^_^ I've heard "Last Human" is better though, so I'll probably go for that. 3nodding

Huzzah for Red Dwarf merchandise! xd

Hey, this is rather off-subject, but apparently they're trying to make a live-action version of The Last Unicorn... here's the website.

They chose a total pretty-boy to play Schmendrick. I'm so disappointed. crying
