Enduring Vampire

.: Of course I heard my dear. Havent you heard the old wives tale that to say the Devil's name is to summon him? As for why Im... peeved, I would appreciate it if you DIDNT go running off handing out information about me ad hoc to all and sundry. So much for granting you further power, your loyalties.. like so many.. fall to the prettiest face. Fickle. Weak.
I expected more of you. You killed for me, feel like telling THAT to this woman who so has you all captivated? Tell her... if she wants to know about me, she's best off asking at the source. It is MY choice to tell or not to tell, and who knows? Maybe YOU'LL learn something too. Like not to cross me, CHILD. I am a much bigger and badder wolf than you know, and I WILL blow your house down... Seek me out. Bring your business to me. :.

*the voice again brought agony with it, ripping through Quints head before abruptly... it was gone, leaving only a lingering image of Roan's shrine at the pier, and a dull ache in her wake*

In the bathroom, there was a small fan, which somehow could make a lot of noise. However, over that sound, there was audible laughter, Quint finding Roan amusing. My loyalties? You only had mine because of that 'pretty face' out there. I'll tell her everything, top to bottom, and hopefully -- if it is her whim -- we'll be there. That last bit of speech was glazed lovingly with sarcasm.

Riding the train of pain for those last few moments, Quint was sort of dissapointed in Roan for leaving that image. Like he couldn't remember where that mostly unattractive addition stuck out.

Geez... whispered another familiar voice in the back of Quint's mind. Instead of direct, searing pain it seemed to have much more subtle quality to it, like the sound of an a underground river from the surface.

You know, having a psychic shouting match is like sending up a signal flare while sneaking into a girl's dormitory, the voice quipped with a quiet chuckle. Fun, but not nearly as stealthy. I'm surprised Red doesn't know that... but then again, maybe she probably thinks she can afford to be careless.

Recovering in that same bathroom, Quint was at least able now to look up at the ceiling. 'Gatz' was up there. He considered conversation that moment, wondering if she'd be listening. She would if she cared, right?

At least then you'd just seem crazy.. Quipping, Maybe even catch a couple peeks in the confusion!

..Gatz, buddy!
Quint greeted a long time friend, I really need to talk to you...but can't here. Though that might have sent another charge his way, Quint wasn't certain on that, mainly because of the very arrogance Gatz spoke of.

A chibi-Gatz popped up on Quint's shoulder, letting out a tiny sigh as it did so.

"You know, the whole point of me saying 'Red' was kind of to avoid using names," he grumbled. "Names draw attention, as I think you've learned. Mostly I just contacted you like that to show you I could; and as a test. Speaking in person like this via a small projection is actually much more secure." Gatz made as if to check a watch he didn't have and looked around, checking for someone.

"... Well, I suppose we'll know if she heard me in a bit," he said matter-of-factly. "Since Red's the hub of the connection, all that has to pass through her. Calculating thing she is I'd bet she always has a lot on her mind, though. So the theory is that if you're really quiet, her own thoughts will drown out your message as it passes her ears." He smiled up at Quint.

"Like the sound of the experiment so far, professor?"

We'll have to see if she's listening.. Quint agreed, but kept looking upwards, even though Gatz had just arrived, But it sounds like something we'll be able to exploit.. At the moment he wasn't concerned with the situation at hand, because he knew that'd take care of itself. Rather, he was more worried about how this recent destruction of Rio's weapon would change his standing. There likely was an alterier motive, as the ninja wasn't as..bull-headed, like himself.

"Ok.." Sierra drew out that word, rolling attention away from Quint for the moment. She was watchful of the man who had strolled in after Morrigan, figuring he was with her. However, that didn't mean she'd leave him be. After all, he had yet to say anything.

"How are we today, Mister..?" Sierra asked his name.

((Just curious, why does Rio's weapon concern Quint so much?))

((He thinks that without it, Rioushu's signature weapon, his fighting prowess would be seriously challenged. However, since he doesn't know anything about the power Rioushu has, he could be quite surprised once they battle..))

In his head, an imaginary clock was counting upwards, just passing one minute. Sixty seconds without a retailation from the service provider, so Quint smirked then, thinking Gatz' plan had worked.

We'll likely be able to hide out from ponies here.. He surpressed the laughter from his thoughts, You always have the best ideas, Rover. This talking in code thing was already turning out to be fun. Partly because of Quint's own childish behavior, but mostly in the fact that Roan did have at least one flaw with something of hers, and where there's one, it is likely that there are others.

"Nice to know it," chibi-Gatz answered, swinging his legs. "Personally, I still recommend that one do more listening than speaking through the connection." The creature on Quint's shoulder gave a short chuckle. "... Though that could just be the vouyer in me. In any case, keeping an ear to the 'ground' while Red is around is probably good idea."

"So, I heard you and your employer arguing about her markings..?" Gatz sighed and shook his head. "She was likely telling the truth, you know. I slashed through strands of the writing during my little spar with her, and Red didn't even flinch. They're probably tied to her history rather than her power, but in any case, they seem to be largely cosmetic." The miniscule figured leaned back on Quint's shoulder, thinking. "... I suppose it would be interesting to know what those passages say, but my Ancient Hebrew is a pretty rusty, and I doubt you have the time waste learning the langauge."

Too feverent. Quick to conculsions. Many things could describe what Quint had done, once again misunderstanding another person, becoming very hasty on what must be the truth. Lesson learned, or, with his current record, taught.

Exasperated with himself, Quint spoke a bit lower and deeper, Well, there goes that theory.

Bright side, look on the bright side..

At least that's better than walking into an unwinnable game! Quint smirked, not so much forcing as pushing a good thought out.

First in darkness, then in light. The first murderer. Fugitive and a wanderer on the earth. Behold, I am driven this day away from the ground; and from your face I shall be hidden; and I shall be a fugitive and a wanderer on the earth. If anyone slays me, Vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the Lord put a mark on Cainites. He who takes his own or another's life becomes an outcaste. Surely your blood of your lives will I require, the Path of Lilith I have walked.

*the text appeared on the wall in red, leaking down slightly in first its Hebrew form, then shifting into contemporary English. The medium? Blood. With it, came only the faintly amused presence of Roan herself, and she took care to let the display ALSO take place in the same room Morrigan inhabited.
To any with knowledge, the scripture, a small part of the entirety that covered Roan's body, may be recognised as being taken from every religious document going, though the referance to Lilith seemed to hint at something darker. And this was just a translation of the script on one arm.
The shadows roiled in the house as Roan basked in the islands strength some way away at her own alter, her amusement a palpable thing*

.: I prefer 'Hound' to Red. Yoh has a personality named that you see and it gets SO confusing... though I've also been referred to as Hawk, b***h, the C, Dom, Spider, Widow and may others in the past. Try to be inventive children, you're insulting my intelligence and boring me. :.

Fantastic. His clock must'ive been off. Before the words appeared on his walls, Quint spoke to Gatz, eyes falling to the floor. Dude, can't Bleu do something about this? He asked simply, referring to her computer, and their mental connection. Once looking up, Quint saw the blood stains, reading them with some wonder. These words, looking to be some type of scripture, were already annoying to Quint, who had learned not twenty seconds ago that those markings meant nothing. It was..okay to learn though.

He wondered for a minute wether he should call her out by one choice name, but decided against it; now was a time for action, and calling her a b***h wouldn't have gone over well with the queen of them all.

Breathing fully to get extra blood into his head, Quint rose quickly, fast enough for Gatz to want to hold on, if he were to stay perched. Walking back into his living room, Quint looked up on that wall, finding its condition to be just like the bathroom.

Quint spoke as if he knew exactly what had just happened, which was saying a lot, I take it you know where that came from, Dante. Quint walked over to the wall, examining the stains. The blood was caked, as if it had been there for days, and a smell was beginning to eminate from the letters.

..And for some reason, that smell began to drive him wild. Perhaps the blood's placer had left some familiar stench.. With his heart gradually beating faster, Quint's corneas darkened, and he hunched over, slowly breathing harder, harder. It felt as if stopping was impossible to do, body reacting without confirmation from the supposed master, the mind. Whosever blood this was, it send his body into a frenzy, and when he turned around, his glare was more of a beast than a man.

Still, there was at least some sane sarcastic self, ETA: Five Minutes, Ms. C.

Without a word to Sierra, Morrigan, or Dante, Quint walked past them all to the open door, and once past the doorway, went into a full sprint, going so far as jumping out of an open window, wings easily branching out for flight. Apparently, noone telepathically wrote on his walls with blood and got away from it.
