Kaya reached the coffee shop after a quick walk, though it had been longer than he would have liked. That was why he'd walked so quickly. He shivered slightly, from a combination of the cold outside still lingering on him, the warmth inside tantalizing his body into a desire to remove his sweater and the smell of the delicious drinks that were brewing here. He glanced around a noticed a few other people in the shop, but not enough to worry about he hoped. He'd not had the chance to go by the bank today and deposit his earnings from the days games so he had it all with him.
Walking up to the counter he spoke kindly to the man behind the counter. "Hello. Can I get a hazelnut latte?" he asked gently, trying to disguise his desire for something warm in him as simply a relief to being out of the cold for the moment.
"Sure, thing Kid. You know though...You're supposed to have a parent with you while you're in here. I ain't never seen yours though..." the man said, referring to the sign in the window that proclaimed, ~For patrons under 15 years of age, a parent must be present to prevent problems.~
Kaya just nodded, not saying anything and trying to hide the tears that were leaking from his eyes.

[[Whoa, what book is that? I haven't the slightest clue what Sebastien's reading. redface ]]
Pleased about the obvious love of literature, Roux grinned. "That does sound interesting." Looking at his brown bag-wrapped book, he said, "This is a present for a few friends of mine." By few friends he really meant an entire shelter's child population, but, eh, close enough. "It's supposed to be a very popular book for young readers. I looked it over anyway, just in case something bizarre or inappropriate made it so popular." They were almost there, thankfully. The crowds really didn't make Roux feel secure. He was too used to being in the air, alone, with no one as far as the eye could see. Just him, the moon or sun, some clouds and great thermals to ride on.

((That's cuz I made it up, silly. xD
@Ww: ftw? I see kids alone in coffee shops all the time and they're like... twelve, max. 8D;; ))
Sebastien nodded, his pale eyes glancing towards the book. The blonde never really read much of what was popular for his age -- most of his books involved too much outside research for most teens to understand it. Sebastien, on the other hand, loved looking up all the minor details and quirks of the literature that he loved. He'd been researching Atlantis ever since he had seen the first teaser for the book he was holding in his hands, which was some three months or so ago. He was quite the odd child.
Finally, they reached the coffee shop. Pale hands reached forward to push open the door, holding it politely for the other to enter before he followed inside. Out of the cold, the boy smiled, his expression containing a pleasant sort of dreamyness -- likely due to the change in temperature. His nose and cheeks and lips had been dusted a light rouge from the cold outside and would likely take some time to return to their usual porcelein paleness. "Eeeh, so, what are you going to get?" Sebastien asked, smiling.

Roux nodded thanks for the opening of the door, pleased by the pleasantness of it all. "I think... You should order first." He grinned. The boy was very cute. He'd never normally go off with someone for a drink, but he truly liked this boy. He had beautiful features and a sweet aura. Plus, he wasn't an ordinary human being. A big plus. "My treat since I made you fall. It's the least I can do." Used to the cold, Roux had no redness on his face. He, actually, preferred the cold. Heat was his enemy. It made him weak, dizzy, and he had to fight for every breath. Birds often died of heat stroke. He did not want to be on the "oppsie" list. He didn't take his glasses off as he approached the counter with Sebastien. The girls behind the counter recognized him anyway. It was the hair.... or the height... or the sunglasses... or his outfit... that gave him away. He came here so often he knew them all by name, and they all knew him. "Oh my god, I thought you weren't going to make it today! Don't you have to be at Saint Bart's in a-" Roux made a slashing gesture under his throat, the intragenerational signal for SHUT UP.

"Eheh... alright, then, thanks...." he murmured, a rather pleasant smile on his lips. Cuttlefish tended to inhabit the areas of the ocean floor -- that did not, however, mean that they lived in the deep parts of the ocean. He knew that in his animal form he could stand colder temperatures than he could in his human form due to the vast differences between his two skins and metabolisms. On the other hand, however, he it was incredibly difficult for him to take the cool, dry crispness that came with the colder seasons. Fortunately, it snowed often in the town during winter so there was plenty of moisture in the air -- what was really bad for him was autumn (and, in other places, summer, but the temperatures in the city never got above eighty at the highest and even then it was usually wet and therefore bearable for the teen).
Pale eyes scanned the list of drink. He had just been about to make his order when one of the girls behind the counter began to speek to Roux. Startled, the blonde glanced from one to the other, looking rather confuzed at the girl's sudden hault in speech because, fortunately for Roux, he hadn't caught the signal that the older man had made. He looked quite confused, a small flush of embarrassment on his cheeks as he continued to look rather hopelessly clueless. "E-eeh, Roux, do you know them?" he asked, a slightly sheepish smile growing upon his lips.

"Yes, I often come here on my way from the bookstore. Or to it if the day has been stressful enough." He looked a little flushed now he bet, he could feel it. That was a close one. Mental note: kill Hillary later... "This is Hillary. Hillary, this is Sebastien. I bumped into him, literally, at the bookstore." Hillary winked at Sebastien and then said to Roux with a perkily raised eyebrow, "Robbing the cradle now, are we?" The brunette was bold, and not afraid to tease Roux apparently. "What?!" Gasped another bubbly coffee-girl. She scampered over, her red apron swishing over her slacks loudly. "Roux, you dirty old man!" The newest addition to the conversation was a perfect advertisement for a vacation in Ireland. She was a bright coppery redhead, with large grass green eyes. Freckles spotted from ear to ear, passing in a delicate array over her nose. Her eyes were sparkling merrily as she teased the older man. The dark-haired man's eyes widened with shock. They had NOT just said that...!

Sebastien nodded slowly and replied, "Nice to meet you, Hillary!" He gave the girl a brilliant smile -- one that, with his bright golden hair and perfect pale skin, looked as if he could have walked out of a fairytale. In other words, he looked like a young, innocent Prince Charming, brimming all over with a bubbling warmth. He blinked slightly, however, at the cradle-robbing comment, obviously rather confused. He glanced around -- seemingly to find the reason as to why Roux would be a "cradle robber." When, at least, he seemed to finally understand what the girl was implying, a bright flush spread across the boy's cheeks and he made hasty gesticulations with his hands, obviously flustered after the misinterpretation.
"E-eeeh?! It's nothing... nothing like that!" he exclaimed. "I just accidentally ran into him and... and now he's treating me for coffee or something...." he mumbled, brow furrowed. He was obviously still rather confused on that subject -- shouldn't he be the one buying for Roux. "A-and, anyway, I'm not even a minor any more so that doesn't... work," he said, his expression set and rather stubborn. He knew that he looked rather younger than he really was and it irked him to no end.

"Your minds are always in the gutter!" Roux huffed, flustered beyond swift composure. Were he in his animal form he would have fluffed his feathers repeatedly. instead he smoothed his coat and scarf with his hands, shaking his head all the while. "I could say something about meeting my mother and you would twist it into something x-rated." Hillary and the redhead went quiet for about a second, then they burst into giggles. "If we don't pick on you, silly, then who would?" The redhead smiled brightly at Sebastien. "You're over 18? Good. Roux's too much of a saint to date a minor! It would be so... odd." "And illegal!" Hillary added, nodding like a wise old sage. Roux rubbed his handover his forehead, trying to cover the blush on his cheeks. "I am not saintly. Stop lying to Sebastien." "AWh, are you blushing?!" The girls chirped in unison. "That's so cute!" "Alright, that's enough. You've sufficiently stressed me out to justify a large iced mocha. Happy?" He punctuated the end of his sentence with another huff. The two girls giggled again. "And what do you want," Hillary asked smiling at Sebastien. Her blonde hair, blue eyes and impressive height made her look like a Valkyrie. She could have stepped right out of the mythic Norse heaven of Valhalla.

Sebastien flushed, pale eyes everting as a scowl formed upon his lips. He obviously did not like such talk very much -- or, at the very least, it embarrassed him to no end. However, the effects of such an expression were so undeniably adorable that it was almost impossible not to want to make him make such an expression again. "I'm... I'm eighteen," he muttered, pale green orbs shifting slightly uncomfortably away from the pair of gossipy girls. He wasn't sexist or anything, but he had never been able to get along too well with the overly gisspy, giggly type of girl -- or boy, for that matter. He liked happy people, true, and he himself was bright as a miniature sun, but he strongly disliked people that were much too loud -- or, rather, he preferred not to be around them as it took quite a lot to make Sebastien dislike someone.
He glanced up as he was once more adressed, eyes wide -- apparently he had been rather surprised by the sudden change of topic. "E-eeh? Oh, uhhm, hot chocolate...." he mumbled, brow furrowed over his odd, green eyes. The flush was still quite evident in his cheeks and there was a bit of a pout on his lips as he glanced between the three. Finally, his pale eyes ventured a glance up towards Roux, only to find that the man was just as embarrassed as he himself was. Well, that made him feel at least a bit better.... A small smile formed on his lips and he seemed to be feeling rather more... normal after seeing the other's expression.

He wished to the ever-flying god that he would stop blushing. It would only encourage Hillary and Jennifer. He felt Sebastien discomfort, and frankly he felt the same. Sometimes the girls would uplift his mood, but when their giggly-ness was directed at him it was not so funny. He moved down to the cash register to pay, his eyes on Sebastien. When the girls turned and steped away to make the drinks Roux spoke. "I'm sorry about them," he murmured to the golden-coated boy. "They can be a little over the top." Roux wanted desperately o comfort Sebastien. He felt responsible for the little show he two girls had put on. He never came her with anyone, so they had overreacted. He should have known they would.

Sebastien, as well, wished that the heat in his face would die down... He hated to feel so terribly embarrassed. Besides... he'd never... been with a guy. He didn't know why those girls -- why they thought he was interested in men because he... he liked girls, right? Or at least, that's what he thought. Truthfully, though, he had been quite undecided on the matter for a while, never having been swayed one way or the other. Plenty of people of either sex had, many times, attempted to gain his interest and though he might have given it a shot a couple times, it never lasted and he had never really felt anything of what he thought "romance" was supposed to be (perhaps because he had only ever dated girls, though that thought did not occur to him).
He nodded slowly, glad that the two girls had left, though he still looked quite overly embarrassed. "Y-yeah... I can tell.... A-anyway, they're just joking, right? 'Cuz I mean, I don't even.... like guys, or...." the teen began, golden brow furrowed, his face a bright patchwork of red and pink. Despite his words, his tone and expression seemed far more undecided on the matter -- which was quite correct.
((Yes, Sebby is a lost little boi. xD;;; ))

Oh s**t, Roux thought to himself. I'm going to end up corrupting him. Can I morally justify that? He smiled at the boy's ever-reddening face. Cute. "They're just trying to make us blush. They think it's great sport." He wouldn't push the blonde too far by bringing up sexual orientation. It could be an uncomfortable subject. Not for Roux, of course. He couldn't think of a time when he hadn't liked boys. Maybe when he was a toddler..? But no toddler lusts after anyone. ...hopefully. That would be too much for him to handle. Little toddlers chasing after middle school boys saying "i love you, touch me" or something horrible like that. God. Even when he was not allowed to show any peculiarities that could draw negative attention to himself, he never doubted who and what he liked. At twelve he had secretly begun dating the son of his manager. That had been fascinating. he almost laughed aloud at the thought of the two of them sneaking around in the office.

"E-eeh," Sebastien made that small sound again -- the one he always seemed to make when he was shy or embarrassed or confused -- as pale eyes glanced up to meet the other's. That made.... rather more sense. "R-really?" he mumbled, golden brows furrowed over pale emerald eyes. "That's... weird." One pale hand raised, pale fingers pressing lightly against his own wide, rosy lips. He really did have quite big lips, though with the rest of his features it was more endearing than anything else. Pale eyes shifted slowly, travelling along the counter until they finally looked back at the other once more. At times like this when he felt nervous and clueless, he had an incredibly hard time holding his gaze steady.

Roux was just smiling at him, his sharp features somehow looking even more aristocratic from the reflective glasses. He was about to say something when the redhead popped back up. "Here you go," she said to the blonde, holding the drink out to him. Hillary approached as the redhead scampered off to take another customer's order. "Roux, your cold drink on a cold day, you weirdo." "Yeah, yeah. Cold like my heart, I know." He said, playfully sighing and rolling his eyes. She grinned widely. "Eight sixty-five, smart a**." He paid her, smiled and gestured for the blonde to follow him. There was a semi-circle of plush armchairs in a corner of the shoppe, with a calf-high coffee table to set the drinks on.

((Sorry this took so long. I was eating dinner. 8D;; ))
Sebastien smiled and thanked the girl as he took the drink, though he still felt rather akward around her. He didn't attempt to drink from it yet -- it would be much too hot -- and so simply help it in his hands as a way to warm the chilled flesh of his palms. He glanced up at the other's order, a slightly puzzled expression on his features. It was... really cold outside. True, it was more than warm inside the coffee shop, but... but the other should still be at least slightly chilled from the winter wind....
"Th-thanks for the drink," the boy mumbled as he sat down. He was just in luck, too -- there was only enough space left on the couch for Roux and himself and even that would be a tight fit. He sat down quickly, trying his best not to envade the bubble of the person who was sitting next to him. He flashed a bit of a hesitant, yet still bright, smile at Roux as he finally raised to coacoa to his lips and took a sip. It was... really hot, but bearable.
