The comment stunned the soldier for a moment. That's why Alti had been so out of breath... Guilt had must finally kicked him in the rear. With a secretly smug expression, Haar laughed to himself before turning a smile towards the older man. "The name's Haar, Shay Haar," he murmured before his gaze flickered back towards in an apprehensive manner. He almost hoped the man hadn't heard of him, doubtful since he had been the youngest commander ever appointed but there was always the exception and Haar hoped it was this man.
Taking a few steps towards the boy's bed, the soldier stood staring for a minute before shrugging and shaking him lightly. "Oi, Alti, wake up."

((Quick post before dinner!))
Haar... Haar.... where had he heard that name before? It was so... overly familiar. And then and expression of sudden apprehension dawned on his features. "Ahh, no wonder you looked familiar," he remarked slowly, glancing sideways at the other for a moment, a light smile on his lips. He didn't say more, however, for although this Haar seemed to be Alti's good friend... he did not wish to pry. He really wasn't used to this whole 'father' thing and therefor was not quite certain what to do.
He almost stopped the other from awakening Alti, but wanted to see his son too badly to protest (although the dark-haired teen looked wonderfully adorable while sleeping).
Alti felt very... groggy. Incredibly groggy. He had that weird... taste... texture... in his mouth. It wasn't exactly... unpleasant, and it was sort of... comfortable in a sleepy way. But it was a bit annoying, as well. He opened bright golden, slightly fogged, eyes slowly, the lids moving slowly due to an excess of sleepy sand. He blinked for several moments, his eyes lazilly roaming across the forms of Haar and Red for several moments before he sat bolt upright, eyes wide open.
"Da~d!" he exclaimed happily, practically flinging his arms around the older male.

[[quickie before shower. why does quickie sound so pervie in my mind now? :C]]
Haar merely smiled at the older man. So he had recognized him after all, but opted not to press the situation, thankfully. He liked Red Kross already. It was nice not to have to talk about his job (life) too often to almost strangers.
Leaning against the wall, Haar watched with a hint of sadness but mostly a fond expression. Both his father and mother had died when he was young, and sometimes it hit him hard that they wouldn't be home when he found the time to visit his hometown. His eyes dropping to the wooden floor, the soldier smiled a bit at the memory of his parents. They had been... Wincing, Haar bit the inside of his cheek, they had been the best parents anyone could've asked for... and-- Halting his thoughts before they turned dark, the young man looked up with a pleased look. He was happy for the two, that they had found eachother and all...

"--Oof!" the man exclaimed, a wide smile spreading across his lips. He returned the hug, his arms tightening around the boy, both out of a affection and from a certain need to keep the dark-haired youth from simply falling out of bed. After several akward moments where Alti had to practically cling to his father to keep himself from fallling quite painfully from bed. The situation was eventually righted, however, ending with the pair of them standing side by side, though Alti seemed deffinately more dazed than his father. He had been in a very heavy sleep and still wasn't quite... awake.
The teen glanced over towards Haar, his fogged golden gaze half-lidded. He yawned slowly and murmured, "Thanks for waking me...." His cheeks were slightly flushed and there was a strange... happiness about him -- a sort of excited contentment that, in no other setting, had ever been found on the boy's features. He obviously wasn't... used to having a father, and was a bit embarrassed about his initial reaction, but he was... happy. A lot happier than Haar would ever have seen him before.

[[ahah, I already know this will be short.]]
Haar felt a little weird to be watching the mini-reunion of the father and son. Besides the fact that it reminded it of his own dead parents, it...He'd never seen Alti so happy before. It was strange to say the least. The teen usually had a scowl or a stubborn or a clearly teasing expression marking his features....not usually this bright of a smile.
"No problem, it was my pleasure," he murmured with a hint of a smile before turning his gaze towards Red. "It was nice meeting you." He assumed the two would go down to dinner and the young man could finally go do some passing out which he had planned on doing earlier in the day but that hadn't gone very well...
-- - - - -- -- -- ---- -- -------
Kaelin frowned as he pressed a few gentle fingers against Julien's very much bruised nose. He could very well heal it but his finace was obviously not accepting of healers for a stupid reason. Just becuase his mother hadn't been saved... It hadn't been the healer's fault...
Watching with amusement as the older man winced, muttering something about killing Haar, Kae simply smiled before chiding the other. "You know, your nose is already broken, you might not want to pick another fight," he murmured, laughing as the other scowled deeply. "I'm on your side," he whispered before standing up, glancing out the window with a hidden sigh. "But what you did was wrong. You kow how Haar is," he said quietly before looking back Julien. "Are...Do you want to sleep?" He asked hesitantly, blue eyes lowering as he felt the other ice native smirking up at him.

"If you want to... come out with us, you can," Alti said slowly, not sure if Haar would... want to or not. He felt a bit... akward with the man there, it was true, but still... he had come to accept that he actually liked having Haar around -- not that he would ever tell the man that. "I mean, if you'd rather stay here and... sleep or something -- I know you must be tired after all -- well, that's fine. Just know that... you could... come if you feel up to it...." he mumbled slowly, showing an unusually nervous side of himself. He felt a little... weird talking in such a way to the other. He'd never really had a friend before and it was... strange. Cheeks flushed slightly with embarrassment, he glanced up slowly towards his father, his bright golden eyes meeting Red's matching gaze. Red nodded slowly, that gentle smile still on his lips, giving full permission for Haar to do as he pleased.

Haar shifted under the teen's gaze. Okay, happy was one thing, nervous was another. The soldier had never seen the bright-eyed teen so...bashful before. When other people acted so very much out of character, it made him feel uncomfortable...He didn't know what to expect and that almost scared Haar. The young man figured Alti was acting so weird because he was around his father. It wasn't like it was everyday you met your long-lost parent after all.
"Well, if it's okay with the both of you I'd love to come. I haven't eaten for...a while," he said with a nervous grin, running a hand through shaggy, brown hair. He'd been unconscious for a few hours and that plus the fact that he hadn't really eaten much afterwards was quickly catching up with him. Haar knew that if he didn't eat something now he'd be regretting it later in the night when he would be too exhausted to do anything about then.

Alti nodded and smiled, his expression lighter than it had been in years. "Alright... and if you decide to collapse or something, I'll make sure you don't face plant into your food, okay?" he promised. There was a small, slightly embarrassed grin on his lips, but it was evident, despite the smile, that he really did feel quite guilty for the other's condition. After all, Haar had gotten mad because some stupid man insulted the dark-haired teen. Next time he saw that Julian, he would punch him out himself. "Do either of you know some place good, or shall we simply wander around and look?" he asked.
Red gave a small, but content shrug. "I think it would be nice to wander a bit... I haven't been here very much, so I'd like to try new things," the man said.
It was obvious that it was not just the fact that Red was Alti's father that had made the teen act so... unusually pleasant. Had his father been a raging lunatic, the teen likely would have reacted quite differently. But there was something just so... calming and fatherly about Red that it could put anyone at peace.

[[oh god, face planting. Why did you put that in my brain? XD]]
"Let's just hope you won't have to keep that promise," Haar said with a hint of mirth behind his words. He highly doubted he'd find himself head first in his plate, but the idea was rather amusing. Following the two down stairs, the soldier tried hard to keep his head from swimming. It had taken a lot out of him to climb them and with the added movement wasn't helping. He was just tired though, it wasn't as if he was in some dire need of medical attention, just a good night's rest.

((Sorry for my teensy disapearance, I've been super busy and my brain hasn't been in much of a writing mode after my timed essay in English. 8D;; ))
Alti glanced up towards Haar as they walked down the stairs. He could tell, quite easily, that Haar was... tired. Very tired. But, anyone would be able to tell that from the man's unusually measured steps. But he also knew that Haar would never accept and extended hand of help -- it just wasn't in the man's nature, or at least not in any part of it Alti had seen. Alti had never been good at... reading people or figuring them out, but he thought he had at least a somewhat passable interpretation of the commander's actions, even if he wasn't dead on. Besides, though he himself was, for the most part, a failure at healing, he knew well enough from his time in the wards that after such a drastic amount of work, Haar would be incredibly drained.

Haar averted his gaze as Alti glanced at him. He still felt a little uncomfortable around the teen after they had had that yelling match earlier. Yes, he had been acting stupid but Alti...-- the red-eyed male brushed a hand through thick hair before reaching the ground level-- Alti was probably the most stubborn person he had ever met. It wasn't exactly an unappealing trait but it could be annoying when the soldier assumed he was in the right and the teen so vehemently apposed that idea.
----- - - -
Kaelin pressed a finger or two against his fiance's shoulder, resting it there before shifting quietly towards the door. Julian was a good man, but he had his flaws just like everyone else and unfortunately they tended to show when they were in public. With a somber sort of expression, the blue-eyed ice native tensed as he felt a tug at his shirt. Looking back, Kai smiled a bit at the other who looked too tired to ask where the closet-cleric was going. "I thought I'd see the close of the festival for tonight," he murmured, hearing that the light kingdom was just as beautiful at night as it was in the daylight. The stars and other such cosmic formations were said to be especially clear in this kingdom. The young man thought he'd find out if the rumors were true.
"I'll let you sleep," he whispered as the other's hand slipped.
---- - -
Haar glanced out the door as several guests were arriving. It was dark but the festival was still as bustling as ever. The soldier leaned against the wall for support as he waited for some direction.

((*too lazy to switch colors of Red/Alti continuously*))
Alti frowned slightly and moved his bright-eyes gaze from the other's face to his father's, who was currently conversing with one of the workers of the inn -- likely getting the directions to some promising restaurant. It didn't take long, and he soon rejoined the other two, a light smile on his lips. "Alright, well, I think I may have found some place good to try out... There will be a lot of performances that should be good staged on the way to the restaurant, and it's also very close to here," he said, sounding quietly pleased.
Alti nodded and smiled, glancing for a moment to Haar, unsure of quite what to do. He wanted to offer the man a helping hand -- or shoulder -- or some sort of support, but... he didn't know how, and he knew Haar wouldn't accept. It would just be akward. And so the dark-haired teen remained silent as he followed after his father outside the inn and along the path the employee had described to the older Fire native.

[[From far away it looks like yous avatar's face is like a skull face. D: I am blind as well so that might add it. and I'm too lazy to find the blue color for Kaelin soooo I wouldn't be doing his color either.]]
Haar followed after the two, his strides showing less and less their usual grandeur until he was more than several meters behind the others. He didn't really mind, it wasn't as if the festival had completely shut down, some places had but then others had opened so there was still a dim glow to the place. Overall it carried a calmer air and Haar wondered if it was like that every night in th light kingdom-- calm, warm, very much sleep-inducing. Heaving a sigh, the commander looked up to see where the others had turned. Blinking, Haar felt his breath steepen as he looked to the right and then to the left and back towards the right. Catching a glimpse of gold, the young felt his entire being relax as he caught sight of the stubborn storms native.

Alti glanced once more over to Haar, only to find that the Fire native... wasn't there. He raised a hand and gently layed it upon his father's shoulder, indicating that they should stop. He turned round, eyes scanning the crowd for Haar and... there he was, lagging behind and nearly out of sight amongst the people, who were much like a field of grass in their number and exceeding density (meaning it's packed). He quickly retraced his steps back to Haar, reaching up a hand to grab hold of the other's shirt at the top of his arm. Without any words, he continued back to where Red was, tugging Haar along with him. The commander wouldn't be getting left behind or lost if he could help it. Haar would probably protest at being treated as a child, but... Alti couldn't lie -- the man needed it. And Alti was stubborn as hell, anyway, so he'd probably win out, particularly with Haar in such a weakened, tired state.
Red waited up for the pair, his silence very much mirroring his son's, though it was decidedly more peaceful than the young Storms native's.
Soon enough, they stopped in front of a promising-looking restaurant, the smells withinquite enticing. There were many inside, but not so many that they wouldn't be able to get a seat. They quickly shuffled inside, Alti tugging Haar along by the shirt, and were seated by the pretty hostess (who, though she was in her twenties, was giving quite a bit of attention to Red -- who was deflecting any hints the young woman could possibly fling at him).

[[Alti laughs in da face of danger. >:3 [/crack] Also, I'm glad that Red is getting some womanly attention, methinks he's a stud, although I'm sure how Alti would feel about it. TwT]]
Haar made quite the surprised sound as Alti fished his way through the crowd and literally dragged him all the way to the restaurant by his shirt which would most likely be a wrinkled mess by that point. Haar figured it didn't matter though, he probably looked very much worse for the wear already and the shirt just added to it. Maybe he'd get free food for looking so utterly pathetic. Glancing at the lightly flirtatious hostess, Haar mused if not for his shabby look maybe Red with his charm could arrange for them free dining.
Not to say Haar couldn't afford dinner, even though his salary wasn't the best in the world, it was manageable and probably a good thing he was forbidden any involvement with other people. He wouldn't be able to afford that. Taking his seat, the red-eyed soldier untangled the boy's fist from the front of his shirt, "You know you could've just walked slower," he mumbled pointedly, glaring lightly at the younger male before sliding his hand up the teen's wrist, clasping his hand around the other's fingers. "There were several ways you could've made sure I kept up, one of them being highly inappropriate for public ears, the other not so much," he said in a quiet tone as the hostess continued to chatter at the boy's father. "I would've rather had your hand," he said with a smile before letting his grip loosen as he aimed to pick up his menu in record time.
