Zach got his drink and stared at it for a moment before taking a sip.
"Why do you keep trying so hard to be good," Zach asked Emma. "Could you settle for neutral?"

Kaok didn't put much store in religions of any sort, and cults even less so. The Lieutenant, however, did want to protect her home and... well, she was roped into this Overseer business. She hadn't had a moment of rest the entire day until now! Lt. Jayim had been bustling about building latrines and sabotaging the other side.
When it became apparent that sacrifice was necessary, she spent her life force for the general good. The Faun was damn tired now, and she knew she was of no benefit to Gaia like this, so now she drudged wearily into the Waning Vestal and took up her usual booth in the back habitually.
She looked about ready to collapse.Someone told me theres a girl out there

While she could not be seen helping a member of the opposing camp, Emma still held an obligation to Kaok as a friend.
She sent a burst of energy to the Faun from across the room, draining the shadow from it before it reached her friend.

Naturally, Remus was very concerned for Kaok's well being. Abandoning his beer at the counter, he stood up and walked over to the booth that the Faun was sitting in. He slid in next to her.
Kaok only seemed faintly aware of his presence. Remus gently placed a hand on her shoulder. "Hey, are you alright?" he asked her.
Outside, there was a flash of light as a Roman artillery unit fired at the SIN portal, trying to weaken it. Even with the aid of the Rome's Techno Legion, BOO still seemed to be behind in progress.

"Yeah, he's pretty amused," Zach nodded and took a long drink. He felt a little better and sat up straighter. When Kaokie entered he waved to her and smiled. There was nothing he could do to help her just yet.

After the bit of help from the Enchantress, Lt. Jayim perked up a fair bit. She glanced at the rest of the patrons in the bar, waiting to see a fellow BOO supporter there. Instead she saw Lady Emma - and she was further and further into the debt to the sorceress.
Suddenly, there was a hand on her shoulder. Who-? Oh. Remus, of course.
"Quite alright," the Faun answered quietly, attempting to place her lips in a smile.
The sounds and flashes from outside just didn't help though, and she buried her head in her hands. A blatant lie.Someone told me theres a girl out there

Another flash of light could be seen outside, the Tavern shuddered heavily this time, causing the light bulbs inside to flicker. A second later, a sound much similar to thunder could be heard as some followers of SIN returned fire on Roman positions nearby.
Remus ignored the noise outside. He didn't know what to say to the Faun, so he pulled her close and wrapped his arms around her.

Emma looked on with a faint smile, taking another sip of wine as she did so.
She was taking a liking to gathering followers, conquering...just like the good old days.
If she really applied herself, she could take a continent.

Her life was just one big rollercoaster of ups and downs wasn't it? Her career took that steep dive, then she found Remus, then Raven, then the award she won. This battle was likely the biggest drop she'd taken. Perhaps it was this, or the fact that she was running on empty, but this was the worst she'd ever taken defeat. She used to have more grace under pressure....

The Imperator managed to smile, despite the current situation. "I do, but I have a number of dark days under my belt. This is a walk in the park." Remus replied, feigning courageous optimism.
Remus squeezed the Faun closer for a second and then pulled away. "I think you should eat something, Kaok. You look like you could use something to drink, too."

"That would be a good idea." She concurred, removing a bit of hardtack from a pocket in her uniform jacket. Kaok quickly devoured the rock solid cracker.
