Shin made a face and then shrugged, pulling his emotions into a very carefully composed mask of arrogance. Cold. Unfeeling, the change was too drastic and it left that beautiful face looking rigid.
He moved past the table, keeping as much distance between them as possible as he headed for the door.
"I get it, I get it... Suit yourself."
He didn't bother looking over his shoulder as he walked through the door a rigidness to his form that hadn't been there before. Muttering he left just as Aiysin returned with an armful of clothes.
"Shikaelna!"
Her eyes narrowed as she dropped the clothing and pinned him to the wall. In this emotional state, Shin barely reacted, if he had... he'd of done something he'd regret.
"SUN?! SUN ARE YOU OKAY?!!"
She glared at the elf as she called to the red-head hoping to god and goddess that he was okay.
"What in Gaia's name do you think you're doing here Shin? We barred your involvement with this case! SUN?!!"
Shin just stared past her and waited for the crazy thing called a woman to let him go.

s**t. He'd said it wrong, it wasn't that he'd meant to hurt Shin, Sun just didn't know any other way to put the chance he'd had into words. Before he could call out though, Aiysin's voice shouted loud enough to start up a headache echoing somewhere in his ears.
He walked to the door and looked at the cold Shin and the furious Aiysin and sighed softly. His robe was still open, though again he didn't seem hugely bothered by the fact in front of the small gatekeeper.
"Shin was keeping me company, Aiysin, he was just on his way to meet whoever was bringing my clothes," Sun did his best not too look abashed. The wheels were turning fast, no small feat considering all the aches and pains.
"He...he might be keeping me company tonight, if he doesn't mind too much. We thought it best because of everything that's happened today that I have some kind of guard."
He looked up and feigned embarassment.
"I didn't realize that he might have been banned from helping. Truthfully, after he came and introduced himself, I was just happy not to have one more thing to worry about, y'know?"
He said the next bit very carefully. Aiysin would assume since he was looking directly at her, that he was asking her, but in truth...he was asking Shin.
"Would it be okay if he stayed?"

Aiysin sighed, again it seemed as if mustering that kind of aggression took a toll on the woman. She let Shin go and he slumped against the wall slightly, refusing to make eye contact with either of them.
"Well... I-- I mean, You DO have a point.. But why him?"
She looked confused-- and then she looked dizzy as she turned to face sun and got an eyeful more than she bargained for. You'd think she'd be desensitized by now, but her face still burned scarlet as she huffed and crossed her arms.
"Well whatever then... but for the record, I'm against this."
Aiysin picked up the clothes and set them in Shin's arms and just shook her head.
"Later."
With that she disappeared down the hall, leaving an awkward silence in her wake.

"Sheesh, for such a cute little thing her voice can really carry...reminds me of Fae and Tellus. Hell, who am I kidding, most my girlfriends have given me a good verbal beating, for one thing or the other." He looked at Shin, who was still looking down.
"C'mon Shin. I was serious, you know. Stay with me?" Sun suddenly laughed, leaning in the door, half naked and tired.
"I reacted out of panic, I guess we both owe each other for thoughtlessness now." The doorframe didn't hold him up for long and he sank to the floor, completely wiped.

Shin didn't say anything, but the tension left his body and his shoulders sagged slightly. Sticking the clothes under his arm he knelt beside Sun and scooped him up gently, carrying him in to the bed and shutting the door softly behind him.
"I'll use the bed in the bathroom."
The words sounded like it took every scrap of will power he had to say them as he set Sun down on the silk comforter. And placed the clothes at the foot of the bed for a moment.
"I didn't mean to-- I-- I'm sorry."

"I kissed you Shin," Sun said it like it was a natural thing to be offended at.
"I should have seen a response coming, really. I was so damn sure you were faking."
A soft chuckle as he sprawled on the bed, before patting the side, an invitation to sit. "If I'd known you were as hungry as I was, I wouldn't have teased."
Whether it was tiredness, or not giving a damn, or both, Sun took off the robe and let it fall to the floor, stripping the two layers off the bed and awkwardly wriggling into the bed.
"Medicine bed isn't comfy, stay with me, and stop being so damn heroic just cause I saved your cute a** from female verbal abusage. No man deserves that after all the trouble you went through to test me."

Shin eyed him cautiously, he no longer resembled the over-active puppy, but rather an abused dog with it's ears and tail down'n'tucked... waiting to be hit again.
There was something in the elven man's eyes that indicated that a good deal more than this had made him suddenly scared. He moved stiffly, yet his bodie pulled him willing and unwilling all at once over to the bed. He crawled onto the sheets apprehensively as he stared at Sun in wonderment.
His hand reached out tentatively, tracing down his face, his neck, tracing the outline of the sun that marred his skin.
He took a deep shakey breath and then smiled.
"The heavens laugh at me..."

"Mmmm why? Cause I'm gonna fall asleep just when you think you're gonna get what you want?" His fingers flicked out and poked the elf very gently on the top of his head. Sun's eyes were already hazy, awash with red and very few other colours besides. Tendrils of black hair got caught up in his fingers as he traced them downwards. "Will you be my friend, Shin?" Pale fingers wrapped in black silk stroked a tanned cheek very gently. "Will you stop crying inside if you are?" The hand slowly slipped off Shin's face and came to rest against Sun's own chest, his eyelids dropping, then falling, finally to rest.

Shin blinked down at Sunstrike and actually, smiled. Hot tears scalding his cheeks as the slipped silently by the elf's guard. And then pressed a trembling kiss to Sunstrike's lips.
"Would you laugh at me... if I told you this was the first time I'd ever shared a proper bed with someone?"

An eyebrow quirked, but Sun didn't laugh or open his eyes.
"Damnit Shin, stop teasing me. You're supposed to just say "Yes." And let me go to sleep."
But Sun knew that real life didn't always work out like that, and finally opened his eyes. He saw the tears and tilted his head with a sigh. He'd have to speak so carefully, and that was hard to do when he was already half asleep.
"I'm sorry, Shin. If it'd make you more comfortable, I'll be alright if you wanna sleep in the other bed."

"No... this is fine..."
This was the closest Shin had ever been to being with someone, he wanted to treasure it for all it was worth. The Moon... the Sun... Both within touching distance yet so far beyond his grasp that the thought hurt, physically.
Shin lowered himself down onto his arms and pillowed his head against Sun's chest, blanketing him in a cover of the softest, straightest, blackest silk.
He kissed lightly along Sun's pale stomach and draped one arm over him protectively.
The need... the raw need to be with someone, to be held and loved, to feel skin against skin.
It had been pressing down on him for millennia, he was grateful for a small release. Something so simple as this.... meant more than Sun would ever know.

Sunstrike smiled sleepily, lowering his arms, one hand gently tracing a pointed, delicate ear, the other lying against the arm spread against his torso. The kisses had felt nice.
"Good, cause I lied, m'not so great sleeping on my own..." He shifted only slightly to snuggle into the covers and embrace, before shutting his eyes again.

That made the elf wonder... What was it like to always have a warm bed, with someone to curl against and lay with every night? He was envious... but he let that go as his gratefulness for the little taste of happiness he had now.. won out.
"If I could... I would have it so that neither of us were ever alone again--"
His fingers tracing the sun on his shoulder repeatedly, as if he were memorizing it in detail. His other hand, reached for one of Sunstrike's and laced his fingers through his as he kissed along Sun's collarbone.

Now there really was a soft chuckle, but it was just a drowsy kind of sound.
"You've only known me for less then a day, Shin. Get to know me better before you start thinking those kinds of thoughts eh? S'too strong for now."
And try not to get killed by Vahn, that was a good point as well, but he didn't say it.

"Knowing this... even if only for one night, after a lifetime of loneliness... how could I not want it to last forever diyuna?"
Shin smiled gently at the half-sleeping man, the hand moving from the sun on his shoulder to stroke his hair tenderly.
