Yukimura bows yet again as Hasebe says it is alright for he and the swordsmith to enter. "Thank you very much." He says as he and the swordsmith follow Hasebe into the gates. Upon getting their horses stabled, Yukimura and the swordsmith carry the things they brought with them, Yukimura's spears strapped to his back now to keep them out of the way. "And it is most nice of you to accompany us. Ah... Might I have the pleasure of knowing your name?" He was perfectly content to follow Hasebe to wherever they would be waiting for Masamune-dono, although he does stop at a sweets cart and get some sweet dango for himself to nibble on as they walk.

Hasebe allows the other to stop and get some sweets, finding no harm in the action. He wasn't trying to run off or do anything illegal after all. When asked his name, Hasebe placed a hand to his chest and bowed forwards. "Heshikiri Hasebe. Any order my master wishes I shall accomplish." He smiled at Yukimura. The sword knew well he could come off as... excessive. Yet it was part of his charm~
---
Mitsutada got in between his lord and one of the angry officials when they slashed a sword. "What's gotten into you?! Stand down. This is your Lord!" He scolded the elderly man as he caught the offending blade between his hands.
Masamune kept his arms crossed and whistled. "Nice catch." Soon he smirked and turns around. "I'm done with this nonsense. We will continue the meeting in the morning. Go home before I brand the lot of you traitors."
Mitsutada easily pried the sword from the elderly man and tossed it to the ground. "...Attack again and this blade will be your last meal." His eye narrowed, gazing from the elderly man to the others who were rioting within the walls of the castle. When they backed off and murmured to each other he turned and headed to follow Masamune, keeping close to him.

Yukimura grins again, then offers one of his hands to Hasebe. "Sanada Genjiro Yukimura. I am pleased to meet you, Heshikiri Hasebe-dono." He wasn't sure if Hasebe'd heard him say his name at the gates earlier. He hadn't put two and two together yet, so he did not know that this was one of Masamune-dono's swords. He only knew of Ookurikara and Shokudaikiri Mitsutada having awakened thus far. He looks around, a slight frown on his face. It seemed like there was alot of tension in the air as he followed Hasebe through the streets of Oshu. He motions for the swordsmith to walk between him and Hasebe, just in case there was trouble, that way the man would be protected from both sides.

Masamune let his thoughts wander to how Ookurikara was doing. If things were getting this heated back in Oshu, he could only imagine what elsewhere was like. What exactly did the sword find? Any leads? Nothing at all? Was he even still alive..? He glanced back, down at Ookurikara's sword that Mitsutada held at his waist. Was that their way of letting him know Ookurikara was fine?
Mitsutada kept his gaze moving, on high alert as he followed after his lord. It was times like these he hated having a blind spot. Normally Ookurikara was there to fill in the spot he couldn't keep good tabs on but now the one-eyed sword was forced to play that role as well. When he noticed Masamune looking back at him and to the sword by his waist he smiled reassuringly. "Kuri-chan is alive. Do not worry."
Masamune smirked a bit. "Good. He can't die off the battlefield. That would be an unhonorable death for such a good man." He nodded and looked forwards.
Mitsutada felt a bit of pride at that. He didn't call Ookurikara a sword, no, but a man. A good man. He would have to tell his partner when he returned.
---
Hasebe allowed the swordsmith to walk between him and Yukimura after refusing politely to shake Yukimura's hand. It was an.. odd gesture to the blonde sword. In fact being referred to with -dono constantly was odd to him. He was used to Mitsutada's -kun suffix. To hear anything else was foreign to him. "You may call me Hasebe." He nodded and soon felt the atmosphere change. He calmly looked around, about to draw his blade, as if expecting an attack but relaxed when Masamune and Mitsutada approached.
---
Masamune spotted a familiar figure clad in red. His face lit up and a smirk crossed his lips. "Heh... If it isn't Sanada Yukimura? Didn't expect to see you here." He motioned to Hasebe. "He treated you well?" He knew Hasebe could be brash.
Mitsutada didn't relax like his fellow sword did. The two swords locked gazes for a moment and that was all they needed for Hasebe to go back to calmly looking around. That gaze told Hasebe there had been an attack on Masamune and to be on guard. However, Mitsutada smiled warmly and bowed to Yukimura. "Ah... Sanada Yukimura-sama. It is nice to see you again."

Yukimura supposes he shouldn't have been too surprised when the other refused his handshake. If he remembered correctly, Masamune-dono had as well at one time. The tension in the air hadn't lessened, at least not to Yukimura, when Masamune-dono and Mitsutada-dono had arrived. Still, the red clad warrior smiles at Masamune and Mitsutada and bows. "Oh yes, Hasebe-dono treated us very well. I.." He stops, a slight frown back on his face as he looks around. "I have a message that I was asked to deliver to you or Mitsutada-dono alone, Masamune-dono. Is there someplace away from unworthy eyes that we might go so I can fulfill what had been asked of me?" He wasn't about to say that Masamune couldn't have his guards with him. Not at all. He just didn't think it wise to talk about anything out in the open where anyone could listen in. As it was, he was having to squash the impulse to rest his hands on his spears with all the tension around. He was a visitor here, after all. Now if someone were to attack them openly, Yukimura would help Masamune-dono's people fight.

Masamune raised a brow. "Ahn? Yeah.. follow me. Hasebe can stand on guard." He motioned for the others to follow him and headed off to a private room.
Mitsutada inspected the room ahead of time to ensure there were no spies or people lingering where they could ambush their lord. Upon deeming it safe he allowed Masamune to enter and gave a nod to Hasebe.
Hasebe nodded back to Mitsutada and turned to the swordsmith. "If you don't mind, I would like you to wait here with me until they are done. Do not worry, you are in good hands."
Mitsutada took position by the other set of doors on the opposite side of the room. He would give Yukimura and Masamune privacy if requested but for now he figured a back to them would suffice.
Masamune knelt down on one of the mats and motioned for Yukimura to sit. "What's the message?"

Yukimura nods to the swordsmith, motioning for him to wait outside with Hasebe, then he follows Masamune and Mitsutada into the room, kneeling on the floor before reaching inside his coat and pulling out the two letters, one of them still sealed. "I received these from Ookurikara-dono. This one requested that I make sure that I get this other one to you or Mitsutada-dono, Masamune-dono. It was hard to make out the writing at first, otherwise I would have come much sooner. I received your request to borrow our swordsmith a couple days before I received the one from Ookurikara-dono." He offers both letters to Masamune. "And the man that I brought with me is the swordsmith you requested, Masamune-dono."
If Masamune opens the unopened letter, the barely legible scrawl states that he had found the trail of the quarry he'd been seeking. Had even found where the quarry in question was being held, but was having to bide his time before making his move. The letter also hinted that certain visiting officials were very likely behind some of the troubles they'd had. It also advised making no moves against the officials yet, however, since he had to think of how he was going to get his objective out safely still, and any change to them could very well make that impossible.

Masamune nodded. "Figured that much about the swordsmith." He nodded his head in thanks before bringing his attention to the letter Ookurikara had penned. It took him a few minutes of trying to read it to shrug his shoulders. "Mitsutada. You're needed." He held up the letter in defeat, not knowing a damn thing it said.
Mitsutada blinked and moved over to his lord. "Yes, Masamune-sama?" He blinked when the letter was handed to him and began to look it over. It was Kuri-chan's writing! He couldn't help but smile a bit at seeing Ookurikara's chicken scratch and took little to no time to figure out what he was trying to say. "He is on the right track, Masamune-sama. However he is requesting us to remain idle until further notice. Any moves we make may make his task harder." He nodded, being round-about with his words just in case anyone was listening that shouldn't be.
Masamune looked over to where Hasebe and the swordsmith were waiting on the other side of the door. "Too late for that, huh?" He smirked a bit. "No worries. We will simply bide our time then." He rubbed at his neck in irritation. "As much as I want to fling them all off a cliff." He heaved a heavy sigh and looked up at Yukimura. "....Thanks. For everything. I will keep your swordsmith safe. But you shouldn't stay here much longer. Things are...rough right now."

Yukimura frowns a bit, noticing Masamune's mood. "I understand, Masamune-dono. Are you sure there is nothing else I could assist you with?" He'd be willing to send troops to help out if Masamune felt the need. "I was only planning to stay long enough to make sure you got everything, Masamune-dono." If it would help Masamune any, Yukimura would be willing to stay. However, he doubted the other would make such a request, so instead, he bows to the other and calmly gets to his feet. "Should you have need of anything, Masamune-dono, you have merely to send for it to Kai." Well, during the visit Masamune had had in Kai, they had discussed that the peace was lasting for too long without a unifying ruler. It seemed that peace was quickly coming to an end. He then heads out of the room, walking slow, smiling and bowing slightly at Hasebe. "Unless Masamune-dono wishes otherwise, I believe I shall take my leave now and head back to Kai. It really was nice to meet you, Hasebe-dono."

Masamune waited until Yukimura was near the door. "Take care, Sanada Yukimura. Build your defenses up." He smirked a bit and said nothing more, letting the other leave.
Mitsutada folded the letter and offered it back to his lord. He waited patiently beside him for an order, bowing as Yukimura left.
Hasebe turned to look at Yukimura as he exited the room. "Hm? Leaving already? Allow me to escort you to the gates." He turned to the swordsmith. "Please go inside and speak to my Lord about lodging." He allowed the man to enter the room before sliding the door shut and proceeded down the hall with Yukimura.

Yukimura nods in response to Masamune's warning. "I shall do so, Masamune-dono. Everyone shall be put on alert as well." He smiles reassuringly to the swordsmith as he is told to go in and speak to Masamune, then nods to Hasebe. "Yes, I need to get back to Kai now that I have fulfilled my duties." He looks around for a moment, then frowns slightly. He didn't think it was a good idea for Hasebe to leave Masamune and Mitsutada unattended, given the current circumstances, but he kept this to himself. He couldn't blame Hasebe if the other were suspicious of him, honestly, and was only coming along to make sure Yukimura did indeed leave as he said. "That is very thoughtful of you, Hasebe-dono. It isn't necessary, but I will not argue against it. You have my thanks." He gives an uneasy smile, feeling rather like he was being watched, and not in the usual way like when one or two of his ninjas were following him. He glances back behind him, eying the end of the building he had just come out of, then glances back at the door to the room Masamune and Mitsutada were in, then back at Hasebe before he leans a bit closer to the other, voice pitched to where the other would be the only one to hear it. "I suggest, Hasebe-dono, that once you have seen me out the gates and get the gates locked up, you come back here and make sure Date Masamune-dono and Mitsutada-dono are well. I have a very bad feeling right now."

As Hasebe walked Yukimura towards the gates he nodded. "Of course. I've already noticed." He gave a bit of a smile. "Mitsutada is a skilled fighter, as is Masamune-sama. They should be fine until I return." He was calm as day while walking and stopped at the gates. "...Do be quick. There is no telling if they shall follow you or try to stop you." He paused and tilted his head. "When you see a notch, go to the right if you feel followed." His advice was very vague. A notch? Well, it could be anything. But what Hasebe was referring to was a notch in a stone by a small shrine on the way down the path. To the right was a place where some of Masamune's more loyal men stayed and it was considered a safe haven for anyone who felt like they were being watched or were in the process of being attacked. Not many knew of it and even giving such advice as looking for a notch, few could find it. Hasebe however felt that Sanada Yukimura was wise enough to figure it out - or at least - fought his lord enough to know Masamune's mannerisms and vague thought process.

Yukimura nods, looking a bit puzzled as the other mentions turning right at a notch if he feels like he himself is being followed, leading his horse outside the gates before mounting up. "I shall keep your suggestion in mind, Hasebe-dono. Good luck." He then turns the horse and rides calmly from Oshu until the gates were out of sight. Then he speeds his horse into a gallop, heading in the direction of Kai, two blurs following in the tree tops nearby being two of his Ninja Corps.

More Ookurikara drabble
Ookurikara focused on keeping his head down and acting as if he belonged in this place as guards ran to and fro and riots started and were squashed just as quickly. A time or two he'd been slashed at, without even being involved in the mess himself. Fortunately, he himself hadn't been hit, but unfortunately, a couple of times Mitsutada's sword had been, despite Kuri's efforts to keep his lover's sword from harm. They didn't cause too much damage to the sword, but Kuri was sure Mitsu would feel that something was going on. He hadn't yet drawn the other sword, since the riots were quelled fairly quickly before he got to that point. From what the rumors were saying, one or two of the officials from this town that had been sent to Oshu to negotiate have simply gone missing. No word or sight of them. That didn't bode well in Kuri's mind, since that meant the guard was doubled around important places in the city, including where he believed Kojuro to be held. He hoped they weren't harming Oshu's Right-Eye, although if they were, he would see to it personally that those who had done the acts were dead before he left with Kojuro in hand. They would have to be able to leave quickly, so he would have to find a hidden way in, a place where he could keep his horse close by, ready to go. With the uproar the city was in, he'd be lucky to get away without injury once he made his move. His letter to Masamune-sama must have gotten there too late, or perhaps his lord had had no choice left in the matter. Kuri wouldn't blame his lord in the slightest. Especially not if things have escalated this badly or worse in Oshu. He had kept hidden in plain sight so far by taking on various tasks from the villagers for food and shelter, saving his money in case he was able to find a guard to bribe. He didn't have Mitsutada's charm with people, wasn't good at the whole talking to people usually. He was sincerely making an effort though, since this was important not only to Masamune-sama, but to all the land, since Kojuro would be the only thing able to keep Masamune-sama in check when he was finally through with holding his temper in check.

You have a daughter...? Hasebe had met Mitsutada and Ookurikara's daughter a few times. She had been introduced as such and to say he was baffled was putting it nicely. Although close, Mitsutada and Ookurikara never sealed any deal indicating that they were solely each others nor seemed close enough to even have a child. In fact the whole situation secretly bugged Hasebe. He had feelings for the tachi still after all these years. In fact he was convinced if Mitsutada wasn't given away to Masamune-sama then they would have never broken up to begin with. And the truth is he was probably right.
Days had been getting longer and longer and not just by the ways of the sun. Turmoil rose within the Date clan the further Ookurikara crept into enemy territory and thanks to Hasebe terminating one or two officials. Which no one knew other than Masamune-sama and Mitsutada. Hasebe had his ways of ensure silence. Still, it only seemed to make things worse and with the letter that was sent, Hasebe had to behave.
One night after constant arguments with the stubborn officials, Hasebe accompanied Mitsutada out to the courtyard for some fresh air. The two of them were exhausted and the blond was sure Mitsutada sported the same headache he did. He glanced over at the tachi as they sat beneath a tree to soak in the night sky. "Mitsutada, I have a question to ask you."
Mitsutada was rubbing at his temples silently pleading for the pounding to stop. When he was just a sword these things didn't happen. He didn't know how Masamune-sama dealt with these ailments. It was one thing to worry about a scratch, chip or broken blade but this? It was annoying. He stopped and looked over at Hasebe, forcing the friendly smile to his face. "Yes, Hasebe-kun?"
Hasebe chuckled a bit, although quietly as to not provoke his own headache. Mitsutada's actions were very adorable. It was hard not to love him no matter who you were. Its what made him the perfect Mr. Mom and social butterfly. "Do you mind if I ask you a question about Hira?"
Mitsutada blinked and nodded. "Yeah, sure... Go ahead." He didn't stop smiling.
Hasebe took a moment to collect his thoughts and the right words. He could be too blunt at times, although rare, and just end a conversation before it started. He didn't want this to be one of those happenings. "You said she was your daughter... How exactly is she related to you?"
Mitsutada chuckled a bit. "Ah... she's not biologically my daughter... She was adopted, 'you see'?" Always mimicking his beloved lord, Mitsutada loved to toss in English here and there.
"Adopted? Who would give up their child?" Hasebe questioned.
"Kuri-chan knows the details better but... a man went to war and gave Kuri-chan Hira when she was just a infant. The purpose was to look after her and when that man never returned... well... We think he might be dead or missing. So Hira grew up under our care and we consider her our daughter. I love her deeply and won't let anyone harm her ever. And even if her biological parents showed up... I'd do anything to remain in her life." He smiled sadly at the thought of someone trying to take Hira away. He never wanted that to happen, ever.
"A mystery man, hm?" Hasebe commented and sighed. "...I had thought.. perhaps you and Ookurikara were closer than you seem."
"Huh?" Mitsutada glanced at Hasebe. "No, we haven't... uhm..." His face flushed red and he waved a hand to dismiss the conversation and where it was headed. "Nevermind, Hasebe-kun. Did you know that the man who fathered Hira originally named her Pest? What a dishonorable name!"
Hasebe wanted to continue the conversation on the relation between Ookurikara and Mitsutada but knew better than to press. He would save that for another time and see if maybe someday he could win the tachi back. "...Pest? Why.. something even worse than your name, Shokudaikiri Mitsutada." He smirked playfully.
Mitsutada tensed a bit but soon laughed it off. "Oh yeah, Mr. Pressure slash?" He teased in return, playfully punching Hasebe's shoulder followed by a sigh. "Yeah... I just couldn't see naming any child in such disrespect. A child is shaped by the name they're given."
Hasebe raised a brow. "So you named her after something sword related...?"
Mitsutada tilted his head. "Kuri-chan thought it was a good name... Besides, we're both swords. It was fitting. At least I thought..." He smiled nervously. Was it an uncool name choice? Oh... he hoped not. He didn't want any of his children to have uncool names.
Hasebe reached out and gently patted Mitsutada on the back. "...It is a nice name. Strong yet feminine. A name perfectly suited for any child of yours, adopted or not."
Mitsutada's eye widened before he smiled brightly. "...Hasebe-kun... Thank you!"
Hasebe nodded and smiled in return. He wished Mitsutada would get over the crippling fear of his name. He was getting better though, yet still had a long way to go. A part of him wondered what happened to the tachi. He never wore an eyepatch during his Oda service. Nor did he have the faint traces of smoke lingering. It was very very faint, but as a burner of temples, the smell of smoke was so easy for Hasebe to pick up. Again, more questions for another time. The two swords sat under the tree and stars for awhile longer. They discussed their plans for the coming day and talked some more about Mitsutada being a parent. Mitsutada definitely was Mr.Mom. No doubt about it.
