"Do I even want to know what that is?" Shuniji deadpanned. He nonchalantly yanked a mass of pink fabric from the bag he'd been keeping their clothes in, revealing a coat surprisingly similar to his late jacket, God rest its soul.
He zipped it all the way up, reveling in the way it kept him warm down to his shins, like a big sleeping bag. Still, he pulled on a pair of beige leggings for good measure, making him look like a very pink, fuzzy member of the Akatsuki. He shivered.
"C'mon, let's head inside with the huddled masses. It's starting to get cold out here." True to his words, which manifested as puffy white clouds, the sky began to sprinkle snow down about the bow of the ship where they stood. "I wanna catch some shut-eye inside before we hit land... or an iceberg."
Shuniji shuffled inside, tossing the empty shopping bag into a garbage can as he passed.

Seika casually stood up and began adjusting her clothing when Shuniji suggested bunking up inside. She immediately straightened her posture and froze, finally registering the content of his sentence. Seika was feeling a bit uncomfortable with the idea of shaking up with other people. Shun was one thing but strangers? No...She didn't have to deal with them, it's not that cold. Seika stood there awkwardly for a few seconds before feeling a cold chill up her back. Her whole body twitched at once. OH-s**t THAT WAS COLD!
Seika quickly scampered after Shuniji, hiding behind his towered figure with her cheeks all puffed up in annoyance. Stupid Shuniji and his needs and wants. She'll let it slide this time. .

Shuniji was disappointed to find the inside of the ship wasn't much warmer than it was outside.
The great room was sparsely furnished with numerous benches and not much else. Uncomfortable as the hard, wooden structures looked, the crowd of other passengers was thin enough that there was plenty of space to spread out. There weren't many people with an interest in travelling to the Land of Snow.
Shuniji himself hardly considered himself one of those few. He wanted nothing more than to be back in his own apartment on his couch in Sound Village where the recirculated air was at least a comfortable temperature.
He sighed and continued on to the center of the room, plunking himself down on a free space of bench. He winced. The benches really were as hard as they looked.
Nevertheless, he kicked his long legs up onto the back of the bench in front of him and slouched down, letting his hood slump down over his eyes.
Shuniji didn't much care what Seika was going to do with herself. He was far too concerned with stilling his shivering long enough to let himself fall asleep.

It would have been nice to say Seika was doing the same, but she was actually busy trying to steal an old commuters blanket from his cold tired fingers. Old or young, She had no remorse for anybody. Seika did what she could to survive. Still...stealing an old man's blanket was a little low. At least she had cast lullaby on the poor guy. Though it didn't change the fact that he could still freeze to death.
Even with the blanket, Seika still found herself shivering feverishly. It was probably because of her legs. Aside from a portion of her face, it was the only part of her body that wasn't covered in the snug fabric. Though she was gradually getting warmer. Seika just needed to wait for the blanket to insulate the heat from her body. She glanced over at Shuniji and inspected him from where she stood. He looked cold and uncomfortable. Seika snorted. He shouldn't have wasted her money on a snow globe. He could have gotten a blanket instead! "......" He did get her something too...and it WAS her job to look after him, it'd make her a liar if she let him freeze and die. Because she said she'd protect him. Ugh....She didn't want to be a lair.
With a small groan Seika shuffled over to where Shuniji rested, then spread the blanket over him. She started tucking one side under his back so it wouldn't slide down, then quietly sat beside him and clung to his arm while trying to fix the other half of the blanket so it covered both of them. Once Seika was finished, she snuggled into Shuniji's arm and shot him a threatening glare. If he said something, she'd beat him back to sleep with her shoe and punch his face in, repeatedly. Seika was a good person... .

Shuniji didn't much care what was going on around him. His eyes were squeezed tight as he tried to block out the dim, fluorescent lights that flickered above him.
Then again, he had slept in plenty of uncomfortable places, namely the hallway outside his parents' workspace. If anyone could sleep at a ninety-degree angle, it would be Shuniji.
It didn't hurt that his torso was suddenly warmer. He cracked an eye open to see a blanket wrapped around his body. It smelled like old person, but Shuniji was too bewildered by the action to really care.
'I guess I actually managed to fall asleep after all,' he mused as the situation only became weirder with Seika physically leaning against him. Shuniji chalked it up to her attempting to leech off his body heat.
Shuniji was still for a moment, but eventually groaned and shifted, pulling his arm from Seika's grasp and nonchalantly draping the appendage around the smaller ninja so she was leaning against his chest.
"...You were... cutting off my circulation..." He muttered in an unusually quiet tone directed at the ceiling. His face put the rosy pigment in his coat to shame.
Shuniji didn't need telepathy to clearly state that this would be yet another moment they would never speak of again. Ever.
At the very least, the cold wouldn't be the thing to distract the pair from falling asleep anymore.

Nemutai Kumorai Zzz...
As they continued to travel through the forest they quickly made there way to the Docks on the southern end of the land of fire; the fairy that they then boarded would quickly take them to the land of Water; where they would quickly reach there goal. All in all he wasn't TOO late; but he was late non the less; even through he was a Kage' he still through with the mind set of a Kage's body guard at times; meaning things needed to be on time; all this hassle over a bird that got lost...

Seika blinked. At this very moment, her cheeks were clearly flushed. She'd reach for her shoe, but he had his arm around her, making it easy for him to put her in a choke hold if she tried anything. "....A-ah, right." This was weird. Then again, it was her fault for trying to help Shuniji out. Or maybe she just wanted to steal his coat...Nah, Seika would be lying to herself if that was the case.
Despite what Shuniji did to her, she was actually quite fond of him. Her reasoning for....overlooking his backstabbing, jerkish methods were simple. Seika was a Sound ninja. She went out of line and got punished for it, the world continues to spin. Shuniji was only doing what he was supposed to. Seika was smart enough to realize this.
Besides, she didn't have any family left. Shuniji gave her a home. He was the only person she really ever talked to, she avoided everybody else. All that was important to her, was partner and her job, which was whatever Shuniji or the Otokage asked of her.
Seika's shoulders finally relaxed a bit, she let her head rest against Shuniji's chest, however...the look on her face was priceless. Her lips were turned, but her cheeks were still heavily flushed. Though, if anybody met her gaze, they'd probably get a thousand daggers to the face, Seika was obviously glaring again. Though if she really hated the situation, she'd just get up and leave, but that must not be the case.
It's okay...she'll push him off the side of the boat when they dock or something.

Shuniji could feel the intensity of Seika's glare through the back of her head. It caused him to smile cheekily, content that the world was once again spinning properly on its access.
Readjusting his legs, Shuniji allowed himself to drift off to sleep...
...Shuniji awoke to the painful, tingling sensation in his legs. He only wished he'd slept as soundly as his limbs, which dropped heavily to the floor when he sat up.
The numbness in his legs wasn't foreign to the rest of his body, though. The temperature had dropped significantly since he'd fallen asleep. Blanket and coat aside, Shuniji was still having trouble moving his freezing fingers.
He turned groggily to look out the window. A snow-covered landscape loomed in the distance, prompting Shuniji to turn back towards Seika.
"Yaaaaaawn... Looks like it's go time... We're lookin' for an ice fisher, right? We should probably start with the Great Tengu Lake and go from there..." He muttered, still obviously half-asleep. The cold was really messing with his head. He blearily wondered if this was what it was like for those who weren't naturally morning people.

"Already?" Seika answered flinging her arms outward in a quick stretch, hopefully punching Shuniji's face in the process. She was still recovering from that thing they'll probably never speak of again. Even though Seika didn't sleep very often, she was still able to get a bit of rest, especially with Shuniji as her pillow.
Well, now that they had arrived at their destination, play time was over. Seika jumped out of her seat and started shoving Shuniji in the proper direction. "C'mon buddy. The sooner we get this crap done, the sooner we can go home, where your nice, warm, cramped as hell apartment is." At least she was trying to be settle about getting him moving this time. Though for some reason she got the feeling he wasn't paying attention, and people started stepping on the back of her shoes. Small nudges turned into big shoves as the small girl tried her best at getting him motivated to leave. "SHUUUNNNIIIJIIII~! THE KID IS BACK WITH SUPER GLUE AND CHICKEN FEATHERED LOOKING CONFETTI..." ....Really? Seika was bad at making things up.

TATSUYA MIYAKI Swear to shake it up, if you swear to listen. GPS : I''M ON A BOAT!!!! Mood : Mission Face D< !! Demon Count : 1/9 "O-okay, I'll see what I can do!" The boy attempted to be more cheerful towards his teammate even though the odds of them being all peachy were very slim. Their personalities seemed to clash like two swords being swung at each other, it didn't help that they had a sort of misunderstanding in almost every minute of their interactions. Still, the young boy would try his hardest to pull his weight, if they were going to snow he too would have to bundle up a bit, but he would make sure the boat was lined up first.
When they reached the shore of the massive sea the boy sprung into action, quickly leaving Ren to his work and focusing on his own. Within a few moments of talking to one of the owners of the small ships Tatsuya had managed to bargain his way into a two person boat to snow for little more than half the normal price, then again, the flash of his Udai headband greased the man's lips as to more or less giving out a free ride to the boy and his friend, and with that he entered the boat and waited for his teammate; Tatsuya would change once the climate got colder, no reason to sweat without a cause.

もし何も私がそれを止めるためにすることができること... If there's nothing I can do to stop it... ╔═蓮 新潟════════════════════════╗ Mood: Indifferent Doing: Shopping Status: Being a "diplomat" Location: Some port town╚════════════════════════蓮 新潟═╝Ѻnce Tatsuya took off, Ren made a dash for the shops. There was an entire area where fishermen were selling their catch, merchants were selling all manner of objects and somewhere in the middle of the crowded streets, Ren found a store that sold all kinds of gear for the kind of climate Snow would have waiting for them. It had taken him longer than he'd have liked to find it with the enormous crowd in his way. People knocked into him every ten steps he took. Neko-chan had freaked out more than once. During her last one, she'd ran back up to secure her claws into Ren's scalp. She still clung to him as he entered the store. He looked around and saw there was other manner of clothing in the back. Deciding to look there first, he found a pair of grey jeans. They were much cleaner than the ones he was wearing, felt much warmer than his own and looked like they wouldn't be restricting of his movement. Finding a pair he hoped was in his size, (he couldn't tell, the size lable on his pants had been worn off before he'd even got them) he decided maybe, just maybe, it was time he got a spare shirt... one that didn't smell like it had been previously been worn by a corpse. Plus, he could layer up. Carrying his pants and a flannel shirt, he made his way towards the front of the store where the coats were. Most of them looked too... "puffy." Clearly not made with the intentions a shinobi would have in mind. Some were just way too damn expensive, worth twice the cost of the shirt and pants combined! A small scowl crossed his face. Why couldn't the store's inventory be set up any simpler? Ren wasn't exactly an 'experienced shopper.' All the clothes he'd ever worn had been pulled out of one dumpster or another and the only other shopping he'd even done had been for food or books. After a few minutes of shifting through dozens of coats that seemed to have the intention of making the wearer look like a giant, orange marshmellow, he found one that was more practical, had a hood and very warm looking as well. As luck would have it, it was on sale too! Not wanting to waste any more time, he went up to the cashier and purchased the clothes. He sweatdropped at how much it all cost, but pulling out his steet smarts, managed to haggle the price down. What the man didn't notice was that Ren had also pocketed a pair of gloves. Deciding to change into his pants before he got on the boat, Ren asked if there was a changing room. The shop owner pointed towards the back, and Ren quickly got in and changed pants. They fitted him great. He shoved his old ones in his bag -no reason to throw them out when they still had a few more years in them- along with the flannel shirt and coat. He had brought so little along with him when he'd left that his bag still had space in it. When he emerged, he made a b-line for the door and headed back down the streets. Neko-chan meowed her complaints that her food-related needs had not been taken care of first, so with "Yea, yea." from Ren, the boy scooped her up and ran around looking for someone who might sell cat food. When he did find a stand, he set Neko-chan down for a minute to buy it. Somewhere in that minute... she'd disappeared. Ren ********> He started pushing around, eyes on the ground looking for her hissing, "Where tha hell are ya, ya gad damned cat!" Stepping into an alley to get his bearings, Ren found Neko-chan.... eating a fish. When she noticed him, she gave him a meow asking, Well where have you been? Ren scowled at her as much as was possible for him. <********' thief." She turned her nose up at him indignantly, but he didn't have time for it. He shoved the bag he'd bought in his pack then scooped up the little cat and the fish she was still eating -no reason to waste some perfectly free food- and took off to the roofs. He'd wasted enough time. Heading for the boats via rooftop, ren searched for the multi-sword-wielding boy. "I'm holdin' you r'sponsible fer 'is, ya got 'at!" It didn't take him too long to find Tatsuya. Once he spotted the boy, he lept down from the roofs and hurried over. "Sorry fer tha wait. Ya c'n blame 'is thing." Ren grunted, taking hold og Neko-chan by the scruff of her neck and dropping her on the ground. She hissed at him in anger but he just glared at her and brushed off her threats which only he seemed able to understand. "We ready ta go?" he asked Tatsuya. Neko-chan picked up the partially-eaten fish Ren had also dropped -almost on her head- in her teeth and didn't seem to want to let go any time soon.

TATSUYA MIYAKI Swear to shake it up, if you swear to listen. GPS : I''M ON A BOAT!!!! Mood : Mission Face D< !! Demon Count : 1/9 All Tatsuya gave to Ren was a thumbs up, though it was more-so to the man who was operating the boat, but his teammate would get the picture. Within a couple moments the boat was untied from the dock and on it's way to the destination that the boy had paid for; a small village near the southern tip of the Land of Snow; along with the haggle the man demanded that he didn't have to go through any blistering cold for the chump-change he was taking them for. This left few options but Tatsuya had a feeling it would all work out, if they didn't have enough supplies beforehand they could just get the rest inside the shops in the minuscule civilizations on the outer rim of the country.
Tatsuya however, had a feeling he would just have to buy some fur at best, something to insulate the inside of his clan uniform that he planned on wearing, and under that he was pretty sure Aoiro would position himself so that he could leach body heat from Tatsuya and the coat. The not so little warm blooded lizard was beginning to get too big to be carried around like he used to, when Tatsuya had first seen him he was the perfect size for a messenger lizard, but over the last two years he had grown to a full three feet, and was beginning to gain some weight due to the lack of exercise. The Udai member would have to make time to train the lizard, not to mention himself, the last time he had actually trained was over a year ago, his young youthful body wouldn't grant him it's spoils for too much longer unless he made an effort to make it look/move good. He'd hate to skewer himself with his own swords.

A day or two later after leaving the Land of Water's forest she arrives at the docks she doesn't have much on her at this point but she had just enough to get back to the land of fire. After waiting for a couple of hrs she boards a boat bound for the other side. As the boat departs she looks over at the land of water & thinks to herself 'Man will I be glad to get back to Konoha. I don't think anyone will be home though. Uncle Hunter has been very busy lately in the Sand Village and Aunt Ephiny has been away on a mission for quite a while & I bet grandpa is off visiting one of his friends in a neighbouring village but never the less I can't wait to get home and get some rest'
A day later the boat arrives at the other side. Crystal spends a day at the port town and rests a bit before heading off into the forest towards Konoha

As the cold was setting in around the boat Tatsuya was beginning to regret not buying some clothes or even a blanket for Aoiro. The large lizard had resorted to literally wearing Tatsuya's clothes, he had managed to find a way to curl up on the boy's back in order to steal the warmth provided by his turtleneck as well as steal what body heat the small Udai member was producing. This left Tatsuya a shivering little mess laying in the middle of the deck of the ship, afraid to move because doing so would disturb his reptilian companion, hopefully the Land of Snow would come soon! Or at least it would come before he froze.
