(( Quote: To put it simply, he was the most adorable damn thing you'll ever see. Nice.)) "You're welcome for possibly the first nice thing I've ever done. Is it really that hard to figure out?" He laughed. "More importantly," he avoided the question for the third time, not wanting to break the fragile minds of those around him until he was quite ready, "what are you going to do about that?" He gestured toward Raedou's open wound.

Ephlas, who had turned and who had not seen the said damn-cute face, was focusing intently. The arrows were unleashed. Thousands upon thousands of arrows, focused on the magical group.
Ephlas said his magic words, although inaudible to any of his companions, and worked his magic. A giant, semi-transparent sphere surrounding them, about four yards in diameter in any direction. All arrows that were accurate enough to have hit any of the group swerved off path, deflected by the sphere of air. It turned rapidly, sending most arrows flying and a very few actually were sent completely backwards, up towards the castle, but because of the height advantage no arrows reached its sender before falling to gravity's force.
Sweat broke out on Ephlas' face as he kept the sphere intact throughout the volley of arrows. When no more loomed above him, the sphere faded, but Ephlas' sweat did not.
Turning, he regarded his new allies with skepticism. "We need to go. I simply will not be able to deflect a ballistae bolt. And those rocks hit damn hard - the tiniest fragment will go through your skull."
Now, Readou was still wounded, but free of all infection, venom, poison and impurity. He would be free of most maladies until they could reach safety.
"Move." Ephlas demanded, shoving his way to the Ganzi's side to support him once again. Without waiting for Raedou's consent, Ephlas began moving towards the nearest source of cover: the sparse coat of trees surrounding the base of the nearest mountain.

They were safe under the trees... for now.
"Thank you, my friend..." muttered Raedou, dizzy from the amount of blood he had lost.
Raedou looked down at his wound, which was still bleeding profusely.
"Hmm... it's not that bad... I'll patch it up later... the bad thing is that my armor is ruined... There's a gaping hole in my chest piece, and Farfarello has torn my helmet to pieces..."
He turned and looked at Farfarello.
"It's too delicate to just be ripped off of my head, you know..."
Raedou looked up at Ephlas.
"I need some new armor as soon as possible... I will not last long without it. We need to find a blacksmith, on the double."

Feeling very useless and not quite sure if he was okay with being part of a "group", Farfarello followed. "Are any of you of high standing, by any chance?" He asked while they ran; if ever there was an opportunity to gain back his power for free it was now, given one of them had the ability to do so. He looked at Raedou, "Armor is supposed to be able to withstand that."

"My armor is bronze, and very outdated," Raedou scowled, "apparently you have lived a sheltered life, to not have heard of the iron revolution..."
"Iron withstands heavy slash wounds... bronze just absorbs the blow and protects from small projectiles."
Raedou looked up at Ephlas.
"It would be much easier to travel if we could find my caravan," he said, "I left it in Eopia, so we will by able to travel faster once we get there."

Ephlas stood back, having been preparing to execute more magic. "'Patch it up?'" He repeated. "I can heal it if you desire."
Turning to Farfello, Ephlas raised an eyebrow. "And if I was? What would that mean to you?"

"Where I come from, metal like that wouldn't even last. As for my time here... I've kind of been stuck under a rock for the past twelve years." He laughed, as it was true that both the prison and the alchemist's home (whom he served under) were made from stone.

Raedou stood silently and stared at Ephlas.
"Then why didn't you in the first place?!" he bellowed.
"You don't have to wait until I- URK---"
A shot of blood squirted from Raedou's chest, shutting him up instantly.
Perrault looked at Farfarello. "Yeah, why do you ask, Far?"

"It would mean that we all might be saved from that," he jerked his head toward the litteral fortress, his horns making effective pointers.

Ephlas rubbed his temples for a moment. "Because it is a rather lengthy- whatever. Let me staunch this before I talk your ears off as well."
Ignoring Farfello for more important things, Ephlas went over and placed his hand over Raedou's wound. A faint, light blue aura pulsed over his hand, and soothed the pain of the wound.
Sweat was on Ephlas' brow, again. His eyes were closed; he was concentrating. And murmuring quietly.
"Stop the bleeding... need clotting. Improve that... needs more blood, too. Fragments of metal from the armor... inside... need to be removed."
Then the blue glow became a bright, bright white, as the blood inside of Raedou was manipulated to clot quicker and bleed slower. "You're Ganzi... I can't know how you'll react to a blood transfusion," Ephlas told him quietly, "so you'll just have to make due with rest until your blood level rises. Plenty of sugar and calories."
The light switched from bright white to soft pink, and now the wound was closing, for the most part. From the beginning of the healing up to this point, it had taken a few minutes.
Abruptly, the glow changed into a fierce red color, invoking a slight amount of pain in the Ganzi's body as Ephlas drew the metal fragments out of the wound.
Immediately, the soft blue again. Then soft pink. Alternating, for five minutes, until the wound was completely sewn shut with magic.
At the end of this ordeal, lasting about six or seven minutes in total, Ephlas was sweating very much on his brow, and his breathing was shallow and ragged. "W-wound healed..." he murmured, before leaning against a tree himself.
Opening a canteen he held, Ephlas took a swig, then dumped the rest on his head. It was refreshing.

Farfarello watched the healing, playing with the executioner's bow (that weird piercing) on his chest. He glanced from Ephlos to Raedou, his expression impassive.
