Oh, there is an RP thread in this guild that my cousin and I started. Look back a couple of pages...it's called "The Upheaval". It was something we started out for practice, but never got around doing in depth.

I guess that when the person posting before you gives more details, it's a lot easier to write more. Being able to control other characters within your post helps too.

Yes. It's hard to pull things out from people who do one-liners all the time.
And that's what I love about controlling NPCs.

Hm... I'm not sure if I could find any to control. The occasional cat who finds events quite disturbing, perhaps?

You could try to put the woman's thought processes -- oh, you should name her, perhaps -- into flashbacks? Watching the soldiers acting like pigs would bring her to flashback to a time when she was feeding pigs, and they made loud noises and dirtied themselves or something. I tend to save flashbacks for particularly traumatic experiences.
The damages made to the home could be something else. Extended yourself beyond her horror and grief to what she might need to do in order to rebuild her house.

Hmm... but nothing especially traumatic has happened yet... good idea, as always. *huggles*

Do you know what else is a good idea? Maybe you should come with me into bed and make some HAWT LOVE
I would just delve more in depth into her feelings and emotions. It can be more than just "Oh my god, he's ruining my furniture!" It can be "Oh my god, he's ruining my furniture! That couch took me 3 years of money saving, hard work in the fields, raising and feeding pigs just to raise enough money for that!" Show some depth. Bring your character to life.
I should really bring this discussion to the concerning roleplaying thread.

Yes, we probably should. Part of my difficulty in writing these elaborate posts may be in the fact that I'm only a freshman and I've been RPing for less than a year.
