McKenzie was the first in the classroom to hear the paniced screams coming from a different part of the castle as well as the first to smell the acrid scent of ogres. She tried not to gag, noting that the rest of the class still didn't seem to smell or hear the coming chaos. McKenzie slowly stood, asked for a medical pass, and left the room. Once outside the classroom she bolted for down stairs, hoping other students were out of the path and that Dumbldore knew what was coming.

*Michael's knee buckled, sending him tumbling to the hard stone floor. He looked up to see the pair of ogres looming above him, a crokked snarl curling their lips which dribbled with drool*
*The lead ogre raised his massive club high and was about to bring it down on the boy's head when he saw the girl appear from around the corner: their true target. They snarled and rushed at the young woman, forgetting about the boy from earlier*

As she was about to rush them she noted that they stopped their attack on the boy and turned on her. She couldn't help but stand there in shock for a bit. Odd...very o-oh s**t run! She turned and bolted left trying to lure the ogres away from the school as best as possible. The text books never anything about ceasing a mindless attack on one person to attack another! What the hell!? She ran fast, the smell of the ogres chrurning her stomach and making it difficult to concentrate.

It was then she felt a giant hand wrap around her neck and lift her. Her air was temporarily shut off at the initial lift. Panic filled her, so she did what was natural. She changed wolf and bit and tore with her sharp teeth at what part of the offending hand she could reach.

*The ogre laughed, the sound coming out as a raspy grunt as the wolf tried to free herself. He reached into a pouch that hung from his belt and pulled out a pendant to which he was told had a homorphous charm placed upon it by his master. He pressed the pendant against the wolf's snout and waited for it to take effect*

She could feel the wolf being unwillingly shoved back into her. This pendant, whatever it was, had the same charm as Faith's. It had never fully worked on her though given her wolf was genetic. She was in human form once more, but her teeth remained sharp and her eyes glowing gold. She continued biting at the ogre and struggling with her hands and feet. They were after her, and they were prepared. This was never a good sign.

She refused to go down without at least a struggle.

"******** you. You get in plenty trouble yourself." She finally got the cuffs off and made a mad dash for escape.

*The wolf lunged and clamped his jaws down onto the leg of the ogre that started to chase McKenzie. The creature growled and swung his club, missing the wolf's head just barely. The wolf was shaken off and attacked again, receiving a blow to the jaw, howling in pain as it was broken. He was grasped around the throat, struggling for air as the ogre began to strangle him. He lashed out with his feet and kicked the monster in the nose causing his attacker to drop him. He recovered quickly and lunged for his throat, biting down regardless of the horrendous pain that shot through his jaw, and ripped out his vocal chords. The second ogre swung its club and sent the wolf sailing through the air like a golf ball. He hit a boulder and collapsed to the ground, the wind knocked from his lungs. He eyed the ogre, calculating his next move. He saw the edge of the cliff a few feet away. If he timed it right he could knock the ogre off and he would fall to his death* Just a little closer... NOW! *He leapt and tackled the beast. A cloud of dust swirled into the air as the two rolled around in a struggled. With his remaining strength the wolf flipped the ogre over him and onto the cliff's ledge. The ogre teetered for a moment before losing his footing and falling, reaching out to grab a handhold and grasped the wolf's back leg. The wolf dug his claws into the ground as he fought to keep from going over the ledge. He whimpered in fear as he slipped and finally went over, a long mournful howl echoing through the air as he fell into the river a hundred feet below*

McKenzie heard the howl and came to a skidding hault. She paused, her mind a flurry of debates. Finally she turned and ran back toward the scene where the ogres had been. She saw only one, lying on the ground, having bled to death. She didn't see the wolf or the second monster, but she had a feeling she knew what happened. She sobbed, not wanting to look over the cliffs edge. She didn't want to see the splattered form of of the wolf below. She slowly backed into the forest, only getting a few feet before collasping to the ground, crying. She had lost yet another friend.

*After ordering students to remain in their dormitories Dumbledore assembled a search team and headed into the Dark Forest in search of McKenzie, calling out, hoping that it was not too late to save her. They found her sitting by the edge of a cliff crying. Dumbledore knelt by her side, removing his cloak and draping it across her shoulders* Are you okay child? *He asked in a soft tone. He looked to the others, noting the ogre's corpse nearby* Spread out and search the area. Make sure the other one is nowhere close by. *He helped the girl to her feet and sat her down on a log* Tell me what happened my dear.

McKenzie related the entire story, including how she had met the wolf, how Faith had disappeared, and her latest interactions with Michael (though she fuzzed those ones a little). She felt like lost little girl again and it frustrated her to no end. She felt like running. She whipped away a tear after telling of the events. She wasn't sure how Dumbledore would react, but she didn't care. She had every intention of leaving tonight, running way back to Scotland.
