Remus felt some static as Emma entered. It was a bit jarring, but it cleared up. Remus had recently upgraded his systems to be more resistant to magic. His growing century of native Gaians had helped him out a bit and they had also reinforced Techno Legion with runes and purity seals to ward off dark energies. The Waning Vestal shuddered a bit as Roman bombers streaked by overhead, flying low.

Emma pulled up a seat at the bar, watching Remus carefully.
It was a good distraction from the darkness currently coursing through her system.

"What's this place called? Is this real?" Alice questioned to herself, dangling on her stool. She was still a little confused from her head being hugely hit, groaning. Alice held her swell wound. Still didn't help with her memory loss.
"Nnnn... I feel dizzy." The witch slurred.

"Emma?" Drathi asked. "Em... how long do you think this amnesia will last?"
((...ugh... my mom got pissed at my sister, and now, I have to deal with her yelling. D ; ))

Remus pulled out one of his holographic projector and turned it to a Roman news network. Of course, it was about the events unfolding on the planet of Gaia. The hologram showed images of golden automatons of Techno Legion marching over a tattered SIN banner. Behind them, Atlas Unit 002 loomed overhead. Occasionally, a beam of red light would fire from his eyes at an unseen target. The news went back to the reporters and they discussed whether of not Remus was making the right decision by getting involved with Gaia's Cult War.

Zach ducked into the tavern to get away from followers of the Overseer and the Sentinel who had tried recruiting them to their cause. He hadn't joined a side yet and wasn't sure if he wanted to. If it were up to him he would just borrow power from other points in his timeline and torch some sense into both sides with phoenix fire.

Emma watched Zach with a careful eye; she had no intention of trying to recruit him, but observation was worth a try.
Besides, she was still looking for ways to distract herself from the call of the Black.

Zach took a seat at the bar and brought his wings close to his body. He was considering de-manifesting them for a while. At least until this stupid conflict was over.
"Can I get a Corpse Reviver," he asked the bartender with a weary sigh.

Emma conjured a thick volume out of thin air, leaning her elbows against the bar as she read.

The news on the holograph device went on to show images of the Overseer's Trident weapon being aimed towards the SIN portal. Remus eventually grew bored and switched the device off.
He nodded to Zach and slighty flinched when the Tavern shuddered again from more low flying Roman craft.

Zach nodded back to Remus and waited for his drink, closing his eyes when the craft soared overhead.
"What are your opinions on this battle," he asked the tavern at large. Ivan answered first, but no one else heard him.
Any kind of chaos is beautiful.

She flashed a predatory smile, the darkness within coming to the surface for a moment.

Remus shrugged. "Honestly, I would rather stay out of it. However, BOO asked for my aid and SIN threatened the Empire." Remus got his drink and took a sip.
"I'm also in this for Kaok."

Ivan felt a newfound appreciation for Emma at her reply. The darker attitude suited her, in his opinion. Remus' first answer reflected Zach's opinion but his last comment intrigued the phoenix.
"The Lieutenant?" He asked. "Do you owe her a favour or something?"

"To tell the truth, I'm just sick and tired of being so infuriatingly good all the time. I'm out of balance."
Shadow surrounded her like a cloak, and one could see how Emma had held England and Spain for a decade in the 1500s.
