[Sanity_is_for_the_Weak] What does the Heavy Weapons team have to do with Tyranids and the engine? I believe that this is because of the number of units and animations the engine can produce per session. The sampled Heavy Weapon Squad starts as one man, but upon deployment become two men and a complete emplacement weapon, but with limited animation and movement.

I've always wondered why they didn't bother making it a two man team.

Would take too much space on players hard-drive and use alot of resources? My bet is on lazyness. xd
Bike/Jetbike would be an nice addition to the Dawn of War series, not the mention the missing races (DE & Nids.)
Wouldn´t they just nids the ability to gather requisitions from their dead foes, and just give a respectable amound of a starting army (genestealers or something.) Makes more sence and goes well with their background fluff they posses.
There is a rather good nid mod available. Sure it looks rather odd on some units and buildings, but look ok, considering that it was made by an amature DOW fan. 3nodding

Eh... Giving them a starting army would give them a SEVERE advantage over other armies. They'd just swamp enemies in the first 3 minutes of the game.

AND WE ALL HATE PEASANT RUSHING.
No, this has nothing to do with laziness. The game engine has its LI-MI-TA-TIONS and as such, can't produce what you ignorant little gnats want it to produce.
And quit screaming for DoW 2 already!

Well if they started out with some really basic, perhaps made-up, units that could lose to some scouts or other basic starting units.
There is a poor quality trailer on YouTube for Soul Storm, however I cannot tell if it really is Soul Storm or not, although I thought I saw some Dark Eldar or otherwise unknown units in there.

Intresting idea, but their vechicals are gonna be crap. (unless there's a way to simulate geting a defensive bonus for moving fast)

Hmmmm.... makes sence..... Can´t really say that I have experienced such thing in many games, not even on Dawn of War: DC yet, but that´s probably because I play campaings on easy difficulty. sweatdrop
Althou I did have an annoying game session as Tau on..... the area behind Tau´s starting base which is under Eldars control, those buggers kept rushing their warriors at my base while I try so hard to build an solid defence. gonk You would have expect Tau to have some sort of defence towers but NO, Ooooo we got super weapons that shoot far and kills everything but we can´t defend our base..... domokun

Nuclearwinter their vechicals are gonna be crap.
Depends how you use them, just like Dark Eldar on the TT. I reckon they'll have something like what the Necron Wraiths have now, phase out or something.
Also, it'd be good if you could get 3 Mandrakes to roam the battlefield, stealthed, and whenever you want summon the other 2 to one of them to form a squad that you can't split up.

Asmondai You would have expect Tau to have some sort of defence towers but NO,
They must constuct additional pylons right? Two, learn to play.

Epic Fail Guy Asmondai You would have expect Tau to have some sort of defence towers but NO,
They must constuct additional pylons right? Two, learn to play. Well, I mean, he does have a point. Forgeworld has some models for defensive Tau drone turrents, just as they do for stationary Heavy Bolter emplacements. So if the Space Marines have them, why not the Tau?
