The girl hid behind her mother. "I've heard of psychics," began the mother. "I hope I dont sound rude, but its awesome to meet one. But yes, as you heard, my daughter is dreadfully terrified of her powers. I"m a mutant too so I understand. But she sometimes won't eat or sleep, and refuses to make any friends. You are my last hope professor, and... I'll leave her with you."

The mother turned to her daughter. "Well sweetie, remember to study and work hard, I'll come back to visit in a couple of weeks," she said, hugging her daughter before leaving.

The shy girl then looked at the kind man in front of her, but didn't say a word. She then sneezed, and the light above them broke. "Oh I'm sorry!" she began, looking scared and about to cry. "I didn't mean to break that, sir..."

Jacen sat on the edge of the treeline on a rather high up sandbar watching the ocean roll in and out, in and out. He was rather livid that the Brotherhood was here. Were they going to carry out the execution order out now? Did Magneto even know about his rejection of his Brotherhood membership? That he was unsure about.

As he sat there, he was wondering about everything. He was wondering what Porter meant by the writing was on the wall. Was he talking about Penance? He knew that obviously Penance was his friend. But maybe....

"Damn," Jacen said as he pulled out another cigarette. He found himself recently starting to have feelings for Penance. Not that he didn't want them, but he didn't want to lose his edge. The way he wasn't invovled with anyone or cared for anyone helped him out immensely in combat. It allowed him to fight with reckless abandon. He didn't understand why it was he was feeling these things for Penance. Was it because she was a rather attractive young lady? He knew she was. And he meant it when he said she was looked stunning the night of the prom...mainly because she did. Was it because she was such a worthy opponent in combat? Again, he knew she was. She, of all people, was the only one able to stand toe to toe with him and not fall. That commanded alot of respect in his book. "Damn," again he said as he scooted closer to the edge of the hill when he saw someone jump into the waters. It was dark out, and he wasn't sure if it was exactly a good idea to go swimming right now.

Being the cautious individual he was, he leaped from the hill and slid down the sand to the beach. Feeling a bit of fatigue from walking around on his bad leg, he slowly walked up to the pier where he saw the person jump in. Again, he found himself sitting as he watched the person swim out and relax for a moment before paddling around aimlessly. It looked as if they were trying to free their mind from something.

As he sat there, he watched intently through the dark to see who it was. Surprisingly, he found that through the night.....he could see extremely well. Another one of Ahab's 'enhancements' perhaps? As it was, he was grateful for it, because it saw it was Penance out there swimming in the ocean. Seeing as how he was bandaged up, and probably not ready to go out in the ocean, he thought for a second. "You know what? ******** it," he said to himself as he jumped into the ocean and swam out to meet his friend.

It wasn't too long, and Jacen found himself swimming up behind Penance's location. She seemed rather distracted by something when he approached.

"Hey, hon...," Jacen said, realizing what he said after the fact, "What's bothering you?"

Everyone blinked in the darkness. Luckily, someone had the intelligence to put the tiki torches outside around the pool deck area so things were lit fairly well.

"I think we blew a fuse..." Porter muttered, grabbing a flashlight and going down to the basement of the building to fiddle with the switches. After a few minutes the lights turned back on in the building, minus a few light bulbs.

Regina blinked at the sudden light, her powers giving her great night vision it was a hinderance when there was a sudden flare of light. A new girl was standing in the foyer of the building, looking very embarrassed. "Hey."

The girl jumped and squeaked. "uhhhhh... i didn't mean to do it!" she blurted out.

Regina grinned. "No big, it happens. Come on in and get something to eat, if you're hungry. And I think introductions are in order yes? I'm Regina."

"I'm Jonothan porter." Porter said as he closed the door to the basement. The rest of the students on the trip nodded and gave their hellos and introductions. Food was still plentiful but it was being consumed. "Dig in before it's totally gone."

Blair was just finishing his chicken dinner when the lights went out. He was tempted to jump up from his seat and find someone to latch onto...but he calmed down after a moment or two.

The lights came back on and not really paying attention, he passed through the group talking about the new girl and the trip, in general. Blair made his way outside to the hot tub area, which seemed to be all the rage.

He tried to smile when he noticed some of them were looking at him.

"Uhh..hi."

Blair smiled at Jamie, realizing it was the kid he met on the plane.

"It was great. I loved it. Enjoying the hot tub, I see.."

He walked over and leaned against the edge to talk to the people inside.

"So...how is everyone...?"

"Well, that could be fun. Joining you in the hot tub, I mean. Anyone care to show me to town? I need to go shopping...the only clothes I have...are these..and I got them from the Lost & Found at the Institute."

He laughed a bit, the first time he'd laughed since before prom.

"I guess I should have thought of that before agreeing to come on a beach vacation."

Regina nodded to John. "Hi John, you look a little groggy. Just wake up from a nap?" she asked. "Yeah, we're here on vacation too. Small world huh?"

Gen blinked as the lights turned back on. She had stopped eating but otherwise it didn't bother her. Power outages came with blizzards all the time. Blizzards that she had always been the cause of... The thought brought on bad memories and as the others began chatting again she made her way back to the room she shared with Teagan, who she had already seen go into the hot tub area.

ooc: sorry guys, i have to work a double today so that's all from me for the day.

The shy young girl heistated but then stood up. "My n-name is Sonya," she stuttered to Regina. She then watched as the rest of the group made their way over to the hot tub. Maybe I should go and try to talk to the other people, she thought. She grabbed a piece of delicious looking chicken and ate it on her way up. This is soooo good, she thought. She got upstairs and pulled out her white one piece swim suit. I had cute yellow daises on it. She slipped it on and pulled her hair back in a ponytail, hoping no one will ask her about her yellow streaks. She then walked downstairs. She stopped and look outside. She took a deep breathe and walked out to join the others in the hot tub. She shyly walked into the hot tub and sat down, blushing a little.
