[[Yey, time skip. @w@;; Yeeee~ I can't wait to get to the festival~ <3 I have big plans for Peyton and Haar. Fufufu~]]
Haar grimaced at the climate change. It had been relatively nice weather in the storms kingdom...and this cold draft was not a change he was hoping for...neither was the very fact they'd be traveling through the death kingdom in general very pleasing to the young commander. Nodding in recognition of the teen's words, Haar turned slightly to the side in order to retrieve the cloak from the bag strapped to his own horse. He figured the bag included some sort of nonperishable foods and just the cloak, as Alti had been so very brat-like earlier in his remarks about the soldier's lack of clothing. Maybe brat-like wasn't the right word..., Haar figured it was something close to masked concerned... and Alti covered it up quite well. If the soldier didn't know the teen so very well (which, ironically, he didn't) he would've thought the failed mage hated him.
Pulling out the heavy cloak, Haar suppressed a grin at the colors Alti's mother, no doubt, chose for each of them. He was glad the gossipy woman hadn't given him something that would make his heritage stand out, but rather a dark charcoal colored cloak with storm nation embellishments at the clasp.

TableTopWatch [[@Sona: Hehe, Malachai is so funny. >w< Poor Ruehl! I love how people just decide to check on Peyton's wound, when Xel stabbed him in the thigh, so it's doubtful the poor kid has pants on. XD I'll pretend they're there, though. <3]]
Ceris smiled a bit at the offer, glancing down at Peyton and then at Xel before turning back to the two royals. "We were planning to visit the light kingdom today before heading out to the festival, but if you wouldn't mind a few more companions, then we'd be honored to join the both of you," he murmured with a gentle smile, brushing dark plum hair from cheery lavender-colored eyes. The mage continued a few moments later, "I already checked Peyton's wounds and they seem to be healing splendidly, and as long as we're in the light kingdom the curse should be easily repressed if it hasn't already waned," he explained, looking at the blond with an almost concerned expression before stealing a glance at Xel.
All the while, Peyton was glaring up at Xel. It was his fault, of course...well, sort of his fault that Peyton was in this condition. Granted, his escape to the death kingdom hadn't helped, but the mixed blood soldier had been the original cause of his pain.
"If you're ready," Ceris added, smoothing out his shirt, "Then we can certainly go, I and the others have already packed."
As the mage finished the final touches on certain scratches and cuts on the young ranger's arms, Peyton leaned in towards Ceris with a frown, "Can I invite someone?" The mage blinked a bit before looking at Peyton with a quirky grin, "Of course you can, Peyton. Is she from around the castle or-?" Ceris eased back a bit as Peyton shook his head vehemently. "He's... he's not originally from the fire nation, but he- but he's in this army now," the boy explained, keeping his eyes set towards the door. Ceris held back a laugh, a wide grin overtaking his usual demure ones. "That's perfectly fine, but you'll have to check with this soldier quickly if we're to leave with the others. You know what? How about you send this soldier a message before we leave and he can meet us there?"
Peyton nodded a bit, still not looking at Ceris. "M'kay, I'll do that and we can go," he mumbled as he busied himself with getting a piece of paper and something to write with.
Dear Cain... [[aagh. I hate how behind I am gonk xD he didn't have pants? lawl.]]
Ruehl smiled, genuinely content to have the added company of Haar's friends to his party. "We don't mind at all. Shall we meet at the gates in a half hour?"
Following the arrangement of their meeting, Malachai's eyes fell upon the exchange between Peyton and Ceris in piqued interest. He overheard something about a soldier... and noted the unmistakable grin on Ceris's face. The fiery-haired royal couldn't believe it. What was it about military men? Why were they supposed to be so darn attractive?! First Ruehl... now this little boy... who else would be lost to the likes of them?
"We'll see you out there," the prince nodded, grabbing ahold of Malachai's arm and giving it a light tug. The two exited.
Well out of earshot of the room, Malachai halted Ruehl's tracks. "Let's get one thing straight..."
"Hm? What's that?" Ruehl asked seriously.
"I asked you first," a cerulean eye winked, "I don't want to find you two-timing me, Rue."
Laughing and shaking his head, the prince shrugged. "No promises..." He continued down the stairs toward the lobby.
Malachai called after him to no avail.

[[It's okay. Haar and Alti haven't gotten to the festival, so you're right in time with them. @w@;;]]
Once the prince and his friend left the room, Peyton finished off his letter with a faint smile, blue eyes settling on the parchment for a moment or so until Ceris nudged the ranger from his seat.
"We better be going if we're to meet the others on time," the mage explained, asking Xel with a cautious voice to get their bags from his room, adding that Peyton and him would meet the knight at the gates. The young mage was more than concerned that Xel was coming with them. Although the light native would've loved nothing else to have the knight in his presence...the fact that Xel might be seen by corrupt ice officials frightened him to his very core.
Peyton had long since had his message sent by servant to Cain. It took only a few minutes for the servant to reappear, murmuring that the letter had been safely received. Wringing his hands while Xel grumbled over having to carry everything save for Ceris's small satchel, the blond stared down the hall. He had forgotten to tell Cain where he was specifically in the castle, so the chances of seeing him before leaving were slim. With a sigh, the blond followed after the older men as they left the medical wing, only looking up as he felt a small tug of his shirt.
"I got your-" Peyton looked up with a grin, blue eyes bright as they sought out the knight's dark brown ones. "....message. The general gave me permission to leave, so I guess I'll meet you there?" Peyton had never the soldier look so very excited before...maybe he'd never been to the light kingdom...
The blond nodded with a silly smile, "Sure. I'll wait for you at the entrance."
I'll wait for you.
[[Yeah, okay, they're ready to go~ X3]]

Ruehl mounted his palamino steed with practiced ease. He looked to Malachai who mounted the horse beside him. They'd requested 2 other horses to be recruited from the stables and a carriage for Peyton and whoever his guest might be. That boy might be in a condition to leave the kingdom and see the festival... but still not one to ride a horse.
"Oi! Here they come!" Malachai nodded toward the castle, and raised a hand in greeting.
Once everyone was situated, Ruehl spoke up, "I think the best route would be heading northwest and then cutting through a portion of the Earth Kingdom. We'd have the best weather that way, and I don't think any trouble could arise. Our alliance should be respected."

Rosaline's heart was beating quite quickly at the moment. He had hardly caught any sleep at all the night before, despite his incredible weariness, due to the nervous excitement coursing through his veins. He was going to the festival. He was really going. And, of all people, Muertian had asked him!! He couldn't help the bright, although nervous, smile that tugged his lips upwards as that thought crossed him mind for the umpteenth time, a bright pink flush on his powder-white cheeks. What was more, the festival was in the Kingdom of Light -- a place Rosaline had always wanted to visit. The sunlight there had to be... beautiful. Perfect for a rose....
Rosaline was already dressed (quite splendidly if he did say so himself) in one of his own creations, a flowy sort of dress in pale pink satiny material. He had already braided his hair (which, with the length of it, was no small task) and, as was customary for the seamstress, pulled it neatly over his left shoulder.
Still, he was nervous that it wouldn't be enough. Yes, he was quite gifted with a needle and thread, but... his dress was nothing to those he had made for so many others attending the festival. He was simply too poor. But Muertian hadn't seemed to mind that earlier.... But Rosaline was still quite nervous.
He had, through his veil of thoughts, already made his way out of the slums he lived in and had reached the palace. The guards all knew him by now -- after all, he was quite often called upon to use his tallents for the royal house -- and entered without trouble. He glanced around himself slowly, his light hair going whisk whisk with the motion. Sure... Muertian had asked him to come... and... well, but he had never said where they would meet!! Rosaline frowned softly, his dark eyes looking around one last time before he proceeded up to the castle.

Alti was quite relieved to see that his cloak was a deep navy, rather than the (overly embarrassing) shade of pale lavender he might have been forced to wear. Really, he already looked much too femenine with his small features... but that would just be overdoing it. Alti fastened the silver clasp around his neck and slowly drew the hood up over his head.
"We shouldn't have too much longer to go," he informed the other from the depths of his cloak.

SonataBlue Ruehl mounted his palamino steed with practiced ease.
Our alliance should be respected." Xel was practicing tight circles with his horse, seeming as if he was not listening to the prince in the least as Ceris finished situating his bag. "Sounds like this will be an easy ride," the mage commented as Reuhl explained their route. "And I'm sure you won't mind traveling through the earth kingdom," he murmured in a softer tone, towards Xel as the knight turned his horse to a proper position.
"Won't mind at all," he answered with something close to a smirk as he rubbed a finger over the scar across his nose. "Haven't been there in years."
While the others prepared to leave, Peyton was waiting expectantly for the knight at the carriage prepared for the both of them, but mainly for Peyton. The young ranger figured that the dark-eyed teen was sore from their previous escapades, but was certainly able to ride a horse... Smiling as the black haired knight passed through the gates, a bag slung over his shoulder, heading towards the carriage. Stripped of his usual armor, the knight merely had on a casual sort of outfit that expressed no pride in the fire kingdom...or any nation Peyton could think of. Along with his very informal wear, Peyton was sure the knight was carrying some sort of concealed weapon. The ranger would admit that he was as well, a few daggers hidden in his pockets and throwing knives slipped in a strap of leather on each boot.
"You made it," the blond said with a grin, water-blue eyes peering at the knight as he took Cain's bag from him. The knight nodded a bit, "Just in time, I'm sure," he answered, noting that their entourage was just about ready to leave without them. Helping the younger teen into the carriage, Cain settled in beside Peyton with a grin. "So, why did you ask me to come with you? I don't suppose you need to be carried around, do you?"
Peyton shook his head, "No, no~ I just wanted a dashing and debonair knight to latch onto all throughout the festival... Actually, I just wanted someone closer to my age to come with us," he explained, glancing out the window before turning back towards the brown-eyed knight.

Muertian found it unnecessary to double check his appearance in the mirror. His blond hair was slicked back for the occasion- it wasn't his preferred style, but whatever pleased his father at this age would do. Besides... gel always loosened up after a few hours of dancing. Passing a few servants on the staircase, he made his way down to the front hall. He didn't bother with his sisters. Narcissa spent forever getting ready and Sylvia was probably checking their travel arrangements or something. Father would order for them to come soon enough. In the lobby, he found himself pacing aimlessly. This was rather strange... he'd never taken a date to the festival before. Most times he toyed with and charmed every stray girl that he could find at the parties without strings attached. With Rosaline, he couldn't figure out why he'd asked her. There was something... certainly different about her. Muertian frowned, unable to put his finger on just what it was.
His mind wandered to the present as he saw his pink-haired date enter the castle doors. 'Pretty,' was all that came to mind. Apparently, Rosaline knew how to dress herself just as well as the other ladies in court. Walking over and smiling, Muertian joked with regards to the castle, "Did you find the place okay? I was getting a little concerned you might've lost your way or something."

As the seamstress turned to find the prince aproaching him, his cheeks immidiately brightened to shades of pink that very nearly matched that of his hair. He nodded slowly at the other's question, keeping his chin angled slightly down, though his back remained straight, his posture and demeaner showing that he was still quite unsure of himself in the other's presence. Of course, that wasn't at all odd as Rosaline was very nearly always nervous with one thing or another. "Yes, thank you," he replied softly with a small bit of lightness to his smile.
Rather hesitantly, he glanced the other over with his incredibly deeply-colored red gaze. He hadn't though Muertian one for slicked-back hair (and he personally prefured the prince's usual styling). As his eyes met the other's, however, he offered him a small smile and made a curtsy, his heart beating furiously all the while. Really, despite all his visits to the castle, he was not at all prepared for such... events.

Mint Thimble Fortunately for Alti, Allora hadn't done as she had earlier threatened (before he had left for the party in the Kingdom of Ice, and therefor met Haar) if he didn't keep up good behavior...
"Wonderful," the soldier commented dryly. The festival reminded him of many things and one of those things was the fire nation's own leaders. They had been using him as some sort of political device in order to show that even the nation's army was able to be peaceful and sociable. Red eyes flickered from tree to tree before landing on Alti for a brief second or so, and that was how he had met the teen, wasn't it? They had all been at some sort of snotty ball in the Ice kingdom of all places... No, no that wasn't quite it, he had definitely met him there but he hadn't... actually wanted to be in the mage's presence until much later. Haar actually recalled thinking that the storm native was very much an annoying twit, all dazed standing in the road like that and then later finding him unconscious in the middle of the road once more. It had not been the most pleasant of nights, at least not in the fire commander's mind.
Haar wasn't sure when Alti stopped being such an annoying twit, but the soldier found himself not exactly wanting his presence or anywhere needing it, but he couldn't say that he loathed the teen. As he dropped his eyes back towards the road, Haar grinned to himself as his thought fluttered elsewhere.

Really, Alti had been telling the truth. It couldn't have been too long before the dark, foggy atmosphere of the Death Kingdom disapated to give way to the clear, bright sunshine of the Kingdom of Light. It was much warmer, too. Not quite the tropics, as it had been in the Storms Kingdom, but deffinately much warmer than the Kingdom of Death. The scenery was very different, as well. It was so much... brighter. More lively. It was lovely. A smile spread across the young royal's features, his sharp amber-orange eyes softening as he shrugged back the hood of his cloak. He had always enjoyed coming here... and it was even better now, without his prying mother to keep him under lock and leash.

"Good, then. Let's go," Ruehl turned his horse and the fire kingdom's party began its journey to the light kingdom. It wasn't long before a short distance between the carriage and the riders increased.
"Rue!"
Ruehl turned his head to look at Malachai. He frowned, slowing his horse to walk beside his friend's. It was clear the prince was a bit eager to make up some lost time. "We've left late-- we've got to get there, and I don't want to miss hi--"
A laugh escaped Malachai's throat. "...?" He quirked his brow inquisitively, urging Ruehl to finish that sentence, but the prince declined. He knew the prince hoped Haar would be there. If he wasn't, he wasn't. No skin off anyone's nose. Malachai turned to Xel and Ceris. "Please excuse his Majesty, he's just excited about traveling. I'm sure vacations are pleasant for us all," he chuckled with a wink. Were those two... well, just what was the deal between Xel and Ceris?
Once they passed over the border into the Earth kingdom, the weather changed pleasantly. It was less arid, and the scenery was more flush with trees. However, the fire native still preferred his home's weather. Ruehl fell back to check on the carriage Peyton resided in.
"How are you two doing in there?" he called down.

"Well, the weather has definitely changed for the better, more like the fire nation but not nearly as dry unfortunately," Haar murmured, mostly to keep him sane in their silent travel. They had been working their way through tiny dirt roads all day and although the trip from the storms to the light kingdom was no short ride, they had to be nearing the festival area... Wincing at the sharp pains running smartly up and down his torso, the soldier shifted from side to side before finding a more comfortable position.

"How are you two doing in there?" he called down. They had been chatting idly for the past hour or so, talking about their lives up 'til the new year when they had met. Turning a serious gaze on the teen, Cain continued with a clearly excited but all too hesitant grin, "Peyton, there's something I've wanted to ask for-"
There was a sudden voice calling through the carriage window, the relatively familiar voice of their prince, Ruehl. Peyton mustered up a grin as he waved out the window, "Perfectly fine," he answered as he glanced out the large window revealing the cheery nature of the light kingdom. It wasn't long after their conversation with the prince that the small troop from the fire nation arrived just north of the light kingdom's capital, where the festival was taking place that year and although the festival was technically held in winter the weather was anything but a traditional winter atmosphere.

(('Jus gonna use orange for the twins for now, though I might flip flop it around every now and then. 8D;; ))
Truly, it was a wonderfully bright, ope day -- perfect for the second day of the festival. Helios was already out and about in the croud, dressed rather casually so as not to attract attention, though his clothes were still fine if anyone cared to look closely. As was common, he had his usual bright, irresistable smile on his lips, his golden hair glinting in the sun's bright light.
Really, the festival was the best of the bests... particularly when his homeland hosted! Everyone from all over could come and appriciate the beauty of Light. Helios truly loved sharing his joy with others. Not that the other Kingdoms weren't as good-- it was just that it was always, personally, somehow more special when one's own Kingdom played host to the others. A large, rather tan, hand swept through his curled hair as he glanced up towards the sky, that same pleasant grin on his lips. Really, it was a beautiful day.
((Pleh. Too happy, the weirdo. xD <33 ))
"Mmm," was all Alti said in reply. He had his eyes fixed on the distant, but approaching, outline of the flourishing capitol of hte Kingdom of Light, which was becoming increasingly clear as they approached.
And then, suddenly, they were there. There were people all around, swarming to the many booths and stands, all chatting excitedly. Alti had, by this point, already taken off his cloak and stuffed it rather roughly in his bag. He really didn't need it with the heat of all the people around -- and the weather was incredibly mild, more like spring than any real winter Alti had ever experienced (not that the Storms Kingdom was much different with their incredibly varying weather).
Alti glanced back at Haar to make sure he was following properly - after all, they weren't the only travelers on horseback and he could easily get lost. "Come on," he called. "We'll take them to the inn we're staying at and then we can set off on foot...." He paused for a moment, then, rethinking his words. "Unless you'd rather continue on horseback...?" he asked, trying (and rather failing) not to look too concerned. "It's a bit inconvinient with the stalls being down there and all.... but it might be easier for you..."
