So, you've got your chemistry/thermodynamics down then? ^_^
A Sib complex? Since when did I get a "complex" named after meh? o_o
Never mind getting it, I thought it was another messed up conversion. ><
I'm still an idiot in math and physics. Those used to be some of my good subjects too.
gonk I don't get what was funny in the equation. ):
Okay, okay, I'll spell it out...
The equation with the bus... is REALLY simple... it's distance = speed times time (okay, to be "scientific" it's change in position is equal to the velocity multiplied by the time spent at the velocity *valid only for non-relativistic speeds*) o.o
Basically, it's saying that at the speed the bus was going, it should have catapulted the ENTIRE bus 22 feet into the air... and/or severed deformed it... o.o
Now, the second one... Remember the movie "The day after tomorrow" with the new ice age coming really fast and freezing everyone?
Well, In there, the colder air in the upper atmosphere came down and hit ground...
Okay, well, the equation is a simple one, relating (for a gas) temperature and pressure, with constant volume (okay, for the movie that's a stretch, but then the results would be even crazier)
(final temperature) / (initial temperature) = (final pressure) / (initial pressure)
Meaning, after the simplistic (and underestimatory) calculations, the "freezing air" depicted in the movie should be over 135 degrees Fahrenheit...
Yeah. This and a horde of other crazy physically impossible stuff makes this one of the worst realistic movies (according to the site, second only to "The Core"... but, that doesn't say much, as the core is a horrible, HORRIBLY done movie...)
o_o
Okay, maybe it's not funny to all of you... but it's f'ing hilarious to me... ^-^
