"Well, that's cool." Ace said and stood up to stretch out his worn out body. As he stood up, a feeling in his hands made chills run down his back. He stared down at his hands to see what was the reason of them hurting. Only now had Ace realized how blistered they had looked from the fire in the forest. With a slow sigh, Ace sat back down, still trying to ignore the blistering pain his his hands.
"So, when should we teleport back?" Ace asked Jessica, trying to think of something else to make the pain of his hands go away.

"I thought you wanted to ea-." Jessica's words immediantly stopped escaping her lips once she noticed where Ace's eyes were cast upon. His hands were blistered unbelivably, the skin burned and rough, enough to make someone feel quesy. "A-Are you okay?!" She then announced worriedly, her words being nothing but sincere.

Ace looked up at Jessica.
"Oh-Oh, yeah, I-I'm fine" Ace stammered with dishonesty. His hands were most certainly not fine. They were two pairs of dead skin that looked as if they needed to be chopped off in order for them to get better. And the pain was intense. Just looking at them made Ace want to vomit. His hands were now a light pale color, and skin was hanging down from his palms.

"What? Do you honestly think becoming a liar is going to help the pain go away?" Jessica than snapped at him in reply, irritation laced in smooth angelic voice. Liars were yet another one of those things that she despised, but she didn't hate Ace for such a thing. She knew that he wasn't speaking out of menace or anything of the sort. He was merely trying not to cry out for help, and she was going to answer the unspoken call.
"I-I know some healing spells..." Jessica then began, allowing her bright blue eyes to look directly towards him. She then blinked, looking down towards his hands, trying not to be disgusted by the horrendous blisters. "If you just give me your hands..."

Ace responed quickly, as he could no longer take the pain of his hands. He placed his hands in Jessica's hands, and hoped that she would hurry.
"This isn't going to hurt, is it?" Ace asked, in a rather babyish tone.

"Well, maybe a little..." Jessica then said in reply to him, honestly not quite sure. She had only used healing spells on small wounds before in her past. Back at home she never really was caught in battles, the most she healed were the wounds she received from the beatings from her parents. "Sorry..." She added in a muttered, closing her hands around his fully aware that the pain from her doing so would be great, but she had to or else the spell wouldn't work.
She proceeded to mutter a simple healing spell, a soft glow escaping her fingertips as she did so. This better work...

Ace felt a strange tingling in his hand that he had never felt before. It almost felt like he was pressing his hand against a heated, motionless ocean that had never been sailed on. His hands began to feel extraordinary after that. Like they were reborn baby hands. A sigh came out of him as he saw his blisters sink into his skin, which still felt quite extraordinary. The bitter, pain inside of his hands had now vanished.
"Thanks. . ." Ace said, and stared down at his hands. He was very grateful that the healing spell had worked.

A grin spread across Jessica's lips as she saw the work she had done. "Oh yay!" She declared, happily, her hands still in the same position they had been when she said the spell. Gently, she traced her fingers along the newly silky skin before recoiling back with a slight flush on her cheeks. "I-I've never used a healing spell on another person before..."

Ace gave a surprised expression on his face. Had he been the first person to be healed by Jessica?
"Wait, you haven't?" he asked bewildered and stared down at his new hands. They looked better than ever. Almost as if they had been healed by a proffesional. "But it seemed like you knew everything already. As if you had done it before!"

"Well, on myself." Jessica replied, looking at him and blinking a bit cluelessly. "I've never really had anyone else to heal. I grew up in a normal household really... so it wasn't like there were any weird supernatural things happening. I only had to use my powers whe-..." She stopped, frowning a bit as she merely though about the things that had happened in the past. "Oh nevermind."

Ace frowned as he could tell that Jessica thought of a bad memory. Bringing it up might have been a bad idea. He wanted to tell her that he was sorry, but he did not even know what the bad memory was. Trying to cheer her up now, he placed his new, smooth hand on her shoulder with regret in his mind.
"Sorry," Ace finally said, yet still did not know what he was sorry about. He still wanted to ask what happened in her past, but that might just make her feel worse.

Jessica's blue eyes widened a bit as the boy reached out to touch her. Oddly enough she didn't flinch, but she still was most definitely startled. She always hated when boys touched her, and that fact that her and Ace weren't exactly best buds (well she didn't hate him anymore at least...) didn't help. However, she still pulled off her award-winning smile. "What are you talking about?" She questioned him teasingly. "You have nothing to be sorry for."

"Well, sorta." Ace muttered, startled as Jessica was not gloomy. "I made you remember about something bad in your past." he said, and dropped down his hand from her shoulder, thinking she didn't need to be comforted anymore, as she seemed fine now.

"Oh, right. Whatever." Ace said, knowing that she had lied. He was a bit annoyed that she would not admit anything, but decided not to mention it.
"Let's just get back to the school already."
