"Good morning." Dale greeted in return, throwing the other a smile as he zipped up his pants. "I'm still sore, incredibly sore. It hurts to move my arms sore. But, I am hungry so that has me out of bed ignoring my arms. How are you feeling? How's your back?"

"My, back?" Sarad asked, but he remembered Dale saying something about sleeping on the bed to help his back, "it's fine. thank you for sharing your bed." he pulled up his own pants and was ready, "shall we get something to eat? i'm pretty hungry myself." he was sore as well from carrying Dale so much, be he wasn't going to say anything. his own pains were nothing and he didn't want Dale to feel guilty. "how is your tongue? i think you should go for something soft or liquid so you don't have to chew it too much."

"No problem. To be honest I don't quite remember sharing it? But hey we fit and we did so no problems there." His tongue? He rolled it around in his mouth. "it's sore? Did I bite it? that actually hurts now that you mention it."

Sarad nodded, "you bit it pretty badl-" his eyes widened as he remembered the bikes. "i forgot-" he hadn't called the company yet! Sarad hurried to the phone and dialed the number on his receipt, praying they answered. "Yes, hello? My name is Sarad, i rented two bikes last night? we had an accident and had to-" he paused as the student spoke. "oh, oh they did? thank goodness. thank you. yes, thank you. have a nice day." Sarad sighed in relief as he hung up, "the nurses called and had them collected the bikes. there wasn't any damage so we were charged anything extra." he shook his head, "thank goodness. let's go eat before i think of something else to drive me into a panic." he held the door for Dale and followed him out, "so, you hurt your tongue and soup or noodles would probably be best for you to eat right now."

Dale went to the mirror on his dresser, opening his mouth to look at his tongue and winced. That did look pretty bad. Right there just before the tip. He heard his roommate panicking about the bikes, looking over in case he had to pay for another thing now before sighing. "That's good. But i saw. Soup and noodles it is. Or apple sauce. I'm craving some applesauce right now.' and walked down the stairs, legs still wobbly but he made it. "Maybe a cookie? Cookies make everything better."

Sarad laughed, "yes, they do. how about i make you some? the last thing i cook while a member of the club." he was going to have to resign on Monday, but for now he was still allowed to use the club's kitchen so long as he did the correct documentation. "i'll make them extra soft, just for you." they were getting looks again as they walked down to the lunchroom and Sarad wondered if rumors about their appearance last night had gotten around. at least everyone saw they were up and walking, he was sure some of them had included a death for how much blood there had been

"That would be great. But don't say it'll be the last thing you cook. I doubt you're leaving the club anytime soon. I should probably go to my club later tonight and tell em I can't practice. I probably can but I'd like to stay off my legs for one more day." A lot of people were staring, Dale looking at them curiously which caused them to look away. Sure he looked like hell but he wasn't that stare-worthy was he? "The cafeteria always smells so good." he said, taking a deep breath and getting in line, looking at the menu. Well soup wasn't on, guess he'd have to order off the sick menu today. Grabbing his tray he smiled at the ladies, politely ordering and thanking them when he received his soft fooded items. Yum. Mashed potatoes were a soft food. See Sarad? Soft foods.

Sarad kept his eyes down, uncomfortable with the attention now that his focus wasn't on getting Dale to their room without dropping him. he wasn't going to argue with Dale about his cooking, he knew the truth. he wouldn't be allowed to cook again, at least, not until he was on his own. "it really does, doesn't it?" he looked at the menu and decided to have the french toast breakfast with two sausages and scrambled eggs. he took them to the table with Dale and sat down before cracking open the little packet of syrup, "i didn't think of mashed potatoes. good choice. i think taking a day or two off of practise is a good idea, you need to let your body heal up and rest."

"Yea. I was going to try pole vaulting, help build up my core and arm muscles but with my arms shot, there's no point. Not yet. "I figure I gotta get some carbs, and I won't be getting them from the soup." and carefully ate, having a small bowl of jello to. He just completely skipped breakfast. "We have a game next Saturday. Not sure if you're the kind to go out and watch sports but thought I'd offer."

Sarad ate slowly, enjoying his meal, even though he wanted to eat quicker since he was quite hungry. "i'll watch, if it's ok with you. i've never really been to a track game before, i think it will be interesting to see." he just hoped that Dael would be well enough to compete.

"Well that's why I'm inviting you! So you can watch! I mean you just sit and cheer the entire team on and watch us run in straight lines or circles. I probably won't be able to pole vault yet. Maybe the game after. I'll be pole vaulting, and I already do hurdles and I do relay races." Track was his passion, was it hard to tell? "I remember my first meet ever I ran and I ran and I chatted with the other runners, y'know to be friendly. And then we had to run and I was the fastest one! I just zoomed out of that relay and I heard a deep voice yelling my name from the stands and the kid next to me was really fast and we just kept trying to outrun each other and I ******** made it! Course I got a seventh place ribbon because there was a total of ten relays. But it was my first ribbon!" he exclaimed with joy, still remembering that joyous win.

Sarad smiled in reply to the huge grin across Dale's face, "good work. i hear it's hard to get ribbons, so getting one in your first ga-meet," that's what Dale had called it, "is impressive." he finished his meal and wiped his mouth before picking up both of their trays. "Next Saturday, right? i'll make sure to put it in my schedule. where is it? some of the meets are off campus, right? will this one be?" he wasn't sure he'd be able to go if that were the case.

"I was so proud. Dad took us all out for pizza. Turns out the voice calling my name was him. He's really good at yelling." he mused, nodding and standing as Sarad did. "Ah, it's a home game, lucky you. Starts at 6pm."

Sarad nodded, "it's a deal. will-" he glanced over, but quickly looked back forward as they were heading to their room, "will your family be coming to it? you said it wasn't terribly far from here to your family's home so, do you think they might come?" he was curious to meet them and see what kind of people Dale had grown up around. at the same time, from what Dale had told him, he had a feeling he might be a little jealous of his friend and seeing the family together might make that worse.

"I dunno. Maybe. It's not terribly far but it's not really worth the gas at the same time, y'know? I'm far away enough to be independent but close enough that if I need help they'll come over. Sorta prepares me for college." he shrugged, following him back to the room, unlocking it for him and entering first, "But we'll see. If they don't, they don't. If they do, they do. I don't mind either way."
