Vincent, having returned to conciousness mere hours ago within the alley of the warehouse, limped his way back to the quiet safety of his forest home. He gives silent thanks to the powers above that he had only days before made a fresh batch of healing salve to tend to the many wounds caused by the creatures he had encountered. Battered and weary, he dresses his wounds and hopes that nothing too surprising happens this night...Knowing his luck, something would.

*Battle-weary and careworn herself, Djanni finishes the long trek to Vincent's modest home, Atiya sound asleep on her back. The grass rustles behind her, and though she does not look back she is certain that Delgara and the Triplets are not far behind. Her only hope is that Vincent is home, and that he does not mind a surprise visit from an old friend and her...unusual pack.*

Vincent, sensing the shift in the winds about his home, moves to the doorway, peering into the darkness beyond. There, he lays eyes on the battered Djanni, and just behind her the lurking shapes of four monstrous humanoids. Vincent assumes the worst and charges in, yelling at Djanni to get behind him as he raises his sword for a headlong rush.

*Djanni, seeing Vincent rushing forward, does the only thing she can think of to save her new friends from almost certain destruction: she sticks her foot out to "gently" trip Vincent as he runs by*

Vincent's trip causes him to go into a half-sommersault that causes him to land uncomfortably on his head. Staring up at the night sky (which seems to have a few new stars tonight) he turns slowly toward Djanni with a confused look on his face. "...Your saying that those monsters are our friends?" Vincent slowly stands and faces half toward her and half toward the other guests before continuing, "I'm a little confused...Mind giving me a brief explanation?" I'm sure the real story would take hours... he finds himself thinking.

*Djanni hisses at Vincent to be quiet*
"Shh! You'll wake her, and just got her to go to sleep! You have no idea how hard it was to do that, with all the excitement going on. Anyway, these are my new friends...the lizardman is Delgara. He's helping me take care of my daughter, Atiya. The three little creatures are Atiya's entourage. They go wherever she goes, which is wherever I go. They won't hurt you, I promise, as long as you don't try to hurt them first. Or Atiya."
*Djanni turns to Delgara*
"Would you mind giving Vincent a hand up? I think I tripped him a little hard there. I would help him myself, but Atiya might fall."

Vincent takes the hand of the lizardman, feeling somewhat disturbed by the scaley feeling but ignoring it for the most part. "Sorry about that. I'm sure you get that a lot." That is when Vincent notices the other set of eyes, just in the distance. "WHO'S--" Vincent half shouts as he sees Atiya from the corner of his eye, "out there!" He half whispers, half shouts, "Show yourself!" Vincent turns to Djanni and whipsers to her, "Take the child inside. You can put her in my bed...I'll take care of the newcomer, whatever he wants."

"Shi-" Varnis swore to himself as he noticed movement. Unsure as to what he should do he moved into some bushes, hoping that who ever was there didn't attack him. He watched from where he was with his hand in his sword, ready to draw it in a moments notice. Hoping he did not have to fight, he stayed squatting in the bushes, hoping he wasn't to noticeable.

"It is my business because you are invading upon my grounds. And as for what I can do to you..." Vincent's voice seems to take on an almost demonic quality as his mood changes to something far colder and sinister, "YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW..."

"Ok, ok. No need to get angry." Varnis said as he jumped out from the bushes. "Not like I really wanted to fight anyways." He said as he walked over to Vincent, not really fazed by how he talked.
