"Hmmm," was all Alti said in reply as he finally tied the bag closed. He wasn't too sure how long he was staying - the festival was usually a full two weeks, but he doubted he would stay that long... Sure, he was performing for his Kingdom, but he wasn't the only one from Storms.... He would likely stay several days and then leave -- though Allora might find him in all the crowd and try and force some other young man upon him (if she noticed that Haar was gone).
He turned bacl around to face the other, a small frown on his lips as his eyes fell upon the other's injured side. "Are you... sure you'll be able to ride like that? I mean... sure, you've been injured before, but... but that doesn't mean you should so desperately try to make your wound reopen just 'cus you're sick of Mother...." he mumbled slowly, not quite sure if the other would even listen to him. He might just ignore Alti's concerned words so that he could just... just go and bear the pain.

[[I feel like I haven't been online in forever. XD]]
"I don't think it will be the most comfortable ride, but I'm sure I'll make it," he murmured in a less than confidant tone, red eyes sweeping towards the the door away from Alti. "I'm not sick of her, I'm sick of being immobilized. I'm sick of bleeding all over you if I but turn the wrong way," he added in a not quite joking manner. He would've loved to have teased away the pain and the vulnerability but it would be stupid to completely under mind his condition.
Looking back at the young male with a grin, the fire native continued, "Besides I can't escort you very well by staying here, can I?"

((Errrrrggggggguhhhhhhh. D: I'm siiiicckkkkk... Got sick on Sat and then had really high fevers until today (yesterday it got up to 103.7 D: ). Today it's down and it's the first time I've been able to be verticle without getting light-headed and weak n' stuff, but... my tummy feel like a gaseous pit and it makes me burp. D: ))
Alti cast a calculating glance upon the older man. Haar never did really seem to take him seriously, now, did he? Any time Alti tried to show any sort of... concern or... or whatever towards the man, it was brushed away with that same, teasing grin. Alti frowned, his bright orange eyes noting the way the other's avoided his. "Well, suit yourself, then. Don't blame me if you... pass out or die or something," he replied dryly, deciding it best just to leave the man to his own devices (as he certainly seemed to wish). Then, after several moments' pause, he added, "and.... thanks. For escorting me. Better you, at least, than a dozen pompous jackasses - pardon me, suitors chosen carefully by mother dearest."

[[I hope you feel better! D:]]
Haar stifled a laugh, red eyes drifting across the slender teen before darting once more towards an exit. "I wouldn't make such judgments just yet, I'm sure there's at least one pompous jackass who's better than me- because they're just your regular, old rich person and I'm a soldier. They're much easier to figure out, " he said with a twitch of hips lips as he shifted to his feet with a rather unpleasant expression. He continued while adjusting his sword closer against his leg, "I think you're actually starting to trust me and I haven't decided if that's dangerous or not," he murmured, mostly to himself.
"So, when are we ditching your m- When are we leaving?" He asked with a most teasing expression, red eyes focused once more on the teen.

"Hah," Alti responded humorlessly. "I'd prefure having someone I can't figure out along rather than someone who's being... paid... or was saught out just to be near me," he said slowly, back to the other. "I hate people like that. Just because people don't like me, Mother thinks she has to... to persuade them. That's what I... can't stand." His voice was, for the most part, quite and calm -- humorless, but not passionless. He lifted a pale hand and slowly brushed back his incredibly dark hair -- dark hair he hoped to be cutting soon. It needed to be... he just... hadn't gotten around to it.
Alti glanced over at the other from over his shoulder, his orange eyes bright against dark hair and pale skin. "Decide that for yourself, then. Whether I trust you or not, that it. Whatever the truth is, it's likely to be dangerous as it's only been a couple'a days sense we met and you're already full of holes," Alti grinned over at the man.
Haar earned an appriciative grin, lips curled up much like a cat's, head cocked to one, at the other's beginning. "Ahh, whenever you're ready is fine. You need a horse, right? M'sure we can spare one and I have mine."

[[I was on the phone. Sorry! >.<]]
Haar decided to leave the teen's earlier comments about forced companions unresponded to as he walked slowly towards the door, they'd already talked too much about that already and everytime he felt himself slipping into a calm where he could possibly retell his past... which would be a very bad thing.
Leaning against the door frame, Haar waited relatively patiently for the teen while he preened. "I was not implying we'd be attacked again," he said in a calm voice, saying nothing more on the issue of trust as he continued, "I'd rather we leave this country as quickly as you're able."

"You know..." Alti began, trying (and failing) to keep irritation from his voice. "I'm the one who should be saying that to you. Not the other way around. I'm perfectly ready and have all my stuff. You're wounded and have nothing with you 'cept some borrowed clothes and your sword." The small teen frowned. "If I didn't already know the answer, I'd ask if you were sane -- but that's an obvious 'no,'" he said brightly. He hefted his bag carefully -- the was no was he was even letting Haar ask to carry it. If he did indeed try to, the man was truly an idiot.
"Now, we're off," he stated simply and he walked out the door and made his way down the hallway, leading the other through the estate and out to the stables. His steed, the dapled gray, was ready, as was another that was obviously meant for Haar as the color of its hide "matched Haar's hair," as his mother had likely put it. Alti paused for a moment to pnder his mother's stupidity before shaking his head and strapping his belongings atop his own horse.

"What do you expect me to do? Steal all of your father's clothes? I'm fine, and I already told you I'd contact Ceris once we got there," Haar grumbled after the boy, red eyes narrowed as all jest and teasing left him. "It's not like either of us are in the best of conditions anyway, and when the hell did you feel it necessary to worry over me?" He added in a muttered tone, not quite caring if Alti heard him or not.
Fingers tensing over the hilt of his sword, Haar muttered a curse to himself before patting the chestnut-colored horse on the nose. For a moment he thought about his own horse, who he had left to ultimately be slaughtered or tortured by those in the ice raid... Red eyes softened a bit as the soldier continued, "I'm as sane as you, my dear mage," he murmured in a lightly teasing tone as he checked all of the horse's straps and buckles before hoisting himself up with a wince.

"Mmm? D'juu say something to me or are you talking to yourself again?" Alti asked from his mounted position, his bright orange eyes slightly skeptical as they glanced over towards Haar. He shook his head slowly -- just to show how ultimately little he cared. "Mmmmm, anyway, we're off, finally!" he grinned, nudging his horse into a descent trot. They'd likely reach their destination by that night -- just in time, he hoped, for some fireworks or something nice like that. He really wanted just to enjoy a festival -- and now that it was Haar who was joining him and not some troup of hired "admirers," he would likely be able to do that.

Haar glared at the teen, red eyes narrowed a bit before softening. Stupid little, stubborn-as-hell... The commander ground his teeth together as he muttered a string of curses under his breath. Alti was by far the most infuriating storms native, save for his own mother, that he'd ever met.
"Alto~" Haar smirked at the name, "You know exactly how to get to the light kingdom from here, right?" he asked as he urged his horse into a trot along side the teen.

"Alti," he corrected peevishly, shooting an orange-eyed glared back at the man. "And of course I know. I have to make a trip to the Light Kingdom every year, anyway, you know. Even when they don't hold the official all-Kingdoms festival, they always kick something off at least once a year. They really like enjoying themselves over there -- and there's never any trouble about it. The people don't seem to bother the officials and the officials don't seem to bother the people and... everyone seems to have... fun," he concluded slowly, his tone implying that he did not at all comprehend such a strange people. "It's bright there, any way... maybe all the sunlight went to their heads...." He shrugged slowly.

"Do you not like that name?" Haar asked with a very large grin as he leaned forward to pat his rather calm-natured horse on the neck. "I think it has a nice ring to it, but I suppose I should appease you, eh? I am, after all, following you blindly," he murmured, mostly to himself as he kept his horse at a steady trot through the wooded path. Thankfully, for the moment, the weather seemed to be nice- not too hot and yet not boiling enough to be uncomfortable, even for him.
He wondered for a moment if Alti was resistant to heat and fire magic as he was... He did have fire blood in him, even if it was only half of what he was, it had to affect something, and since the teen seemed to be rather lousy at storms magic he mused if he might be excellent at using fire.

"Eh... I have my own name. I only need one, after all, and a second would be annoying," he said, glancing back at the other. "What with first names and last and middle and nicknames... why, there's too many words to call one person. After all, that's all a name is, so I'd prefure to keep at least mine simple." At that last thought Alti grinned. "Hmmm... oh, Haar, darling, you do trust me, don't you?" he said, glancing over coyly behind one pale shoulder and batting his eye-lashes, carefully hiding his expression from view. "One so in need of..." here he gave a huge mock "damsel-in-distress" sigh, "of help.... and... protection.... Why it'd be little ol' me to remember directions, now, wouldn't it?" He grinned back at Haar, cocking his head to one side as he did so.

Haar wasn't sure what he found more amusing, the fact that Alti was mocking him, or the fact that he was mocking him in such a way that he looked completely ridiculous. He fiugred it was the second option, becasue the teen looked very awkward at his attempts to play the part of a domineering person. "Why wouldn't I trust you? You could've easily left me to die several times, but you didn't. Although, I can't say I fully trust your capabilities as a healer, I do think I can trust you on a personal level. You're a rather fine human being and that's good enough for me," the young man murmured with a light grin that was giving way to a smirk as he continued, "I don't think I'll need your help in protection, rather, I'm sure it'll be the other way around. Now I know you're not completely pathetic, but why else would your dear mother ask me of all people to escort you if you were in no need or protection?" He asked before returning a coy expression back at the teen, which turned into something closer to a teasing sneer, "I just hope that loon you call a mother didn't hope I'd ravage you along our journey. Poor woman and her fantasies, although I daresay it would be amusing if nothing else."

((Yar. Tato, you amuse me so. 8D <3
Haha, and... I think Haar took it the wrong way, but Alti meant he himself ("th damsel") would need protection. xD;;; ))
"Oh dear... that would be something, wouldn't it.... That a mother would have such hopes for her - ghasp only son," he said dramatically, laying a pale arm over his forehead in mock dispair. "Oh whatever shall I do in theese direst times of woe where I, lone and pure, must escape the villainy of those without my best interests at heart!" He heald a hand up to cover his mouth in "maidenly despair" and let out a false wail. Really, Alti was having much too much fun. And he'd likely taking it too far, but... it wasn't as if he would know. He'd never actually really... joked around with anyone before. Except Haar. Perhaps Alti could never be serious in front of that man because he... never seemed to take Alti seriously.
