Lark sighed relived at that answer but when asked why she was asking, Lark said. "I was just curious. " it was part of the truth but she didn't want to admit she had been jealous.

Devon wanted to push it, but he was tired. She rubbed her shoulder and pulled her close. "Alright then." he said with a yawn. "Sleep well, my Lark."

Time passed quickly and soon Christmas was upon them. Theresa was again in her element in the kitchen. She and Mrs. Glass were working together. It was a good combination. Alice was willing to help and Theresa was good at keeping her from getting overly stressed. Everyone else was talking in the living room.

Lark was laughing with everyone waiting for breakfast to be ready so afterwards they could open each others gifts. Right now though she was telling the paintball story to her father and Sheryl who never head it before.

Theresa and Alice came in with plates of food and set them at the table with milk and coffee. "Come get it while it still hot."

Lark quickly grabbed a plate before the wolves desended and ate everything on the plate, even the crumbs. The pancakes and eggs were heavenly and Lark was in bliss as she was leaning into Devon's side.

Everyone else eat rather quickly, stuffing their faces with the food that would have seemed like way too much for even the amount of people there. But it was gone completely. "Who is ready for presents?" asked Theresa.

Lark was the last to finish eating because she ate slower than the wolves not wanting to choke on top of defending her meal against Devon who had been eyeing her eggs in a hungry manner. Only once having to swat his fork away much to his embarrassment. When Lark heard about the presents she was almost bouncing up in down on the floor in barely contained excitement. "I am." she said

Devon and the others stood from the table, halting their conversations for now. A clatter began of plates and silverware and excited comments. No matter how old you got, you never disliked getting presents. Usually, anyway, Devon sat himself by Lark on the living room coach and eyed the present he knew were from Lark. She had worked her fingers off to make those. He was eager to see what she had created.

Lark's father Oscar got up and went under the tree and got two presents from under the tree both were for Lark but one was from him and the other was from her mother Alice he set both on her lap. "Just a little something for a first Christmas as a real family again." Lark smiled really big and asked Devon to help her open it even though she didn't need to.

Devon did as she asked and helped Lark open her gift for her parents before he continued passing out gifts. Plus he was curious what they would get her.

Lark opened the gift from her mother but before she could look at it she heard a long whistle from Kaleb as and Theresa opened the gift from her first. It was a portrait of the forest on a spring day the foreground was a clearing and in the center in perfect detail was Kaleb and Theresa's wolf forms in the yin and yang position look out of the picture in a stunning life like effect.

Kaleb stared impressed and Theresa was simply stunned. It was a beautiful work of art and amazing show of talent. "Lark... It's breath taking." Theresa said, running her hands down the frame and looking it over closely. "This is going in our living room." "Can it replace the stupid flower picture? This is way better." That earned him a good smack on the shoulder and a chuckle. "Thank you, Lark. It's beautiful."
The others looked over it as well, very impressed with the art. All could agree it was lovely and a few were very eager to open there own, to see Lark's other works. Sheryl curious started to open the gift for her.
Devon look down at Lark and kissed her on the forehead. "You are amazing."

Lark smiled flattered and kissed his check before she was caught up in a hug from behind it was her mother hugging her tightly and her father joined in because they had both opened the gifts that came from her and seen the portrait and were very very proud of their daughter. Lark had given her parents a almanac of the pack in both their human form and wolf form hence the reason they had a photo shoot a week ago she thought her father would love that since they loved to listen to them howl at night even before they knew them as people to. To her mother Lark had given her a photo album of herself growing up through the years she made sure it was only her and not that imposter fae, both books had Lark's touch to it the covers were hand craved as were the words on them like the fames of the portraits an on the bottom were the names of the wolves each portrait featured and on the back was Lark's signature.
Sheryl and Len's portrait was no less stunning than Kaleb's and Theresa's. This painting had a fairy tale setting and in the back ground was the city looking very far off on a midsummer's eve. Len was in his wolf forms sprawled on the ground his glowing in the moon light giving his grey fur with the copper highlights an enchanted effect to him and his gaze was an intense smolder despite his relaxed position he still looked lethal while at the same time like his usual self. Sheryl herself in the portrait had the front half on her body was on top of Len's shoulders her head looking out from the painting her gaze just as intense as her mate's just gentler in away, Sheryl was dressed in a simple white sundress that highlighted Sheryl's beauty every detail was perfect.
