Radevel shot Talis a short glance of disapproval. It had been a long day to be sure, and he didn't know if the boy had eaten yet. And why was he acting so.. morose. Did Talis already regret his decision? "I'll have the number 6," he said to the waitress before turning his eyes back onto the other across from him.

"I think you should have something, Talis," he stated. "You must be hungry."

Pen scratching Radevel's order onto her pad of paper, the woman soon looked over at Talis expectantly.

Watching Radevel order, Talis realized the man's clear disapproval. He was hungry but...

Hearing Radevel's blunt statement in front of their server, Talis felt obliged to order something. His eyes glanced over the a la carte items.

"Can I have some toast, please? Thank you," he said, handing the menu to the collecting waitress. As she departed, the boy released a sigh and gazed back at Radevel. "There," he murmured in sarcastic accomplishment, "Better?"

It was late. Or getting there. The wind was blowing through the streets, causing fallen leaves and newspapers to dance a mad, whirling waltz through the alleys and backstreets before dying once again on the sidewalk. It was on this night that a man was hurrying home. He knew that it was getting late, and the longer he waited, the less chance he felt he would get home in time. He wrapped his long, black, flowing cape tighter around him to shield himself from the cool night air and, as he pulled his tophat down over his eyes to bar them from the elements, he walked on, his feet and his walking stick keeping perfect rhythm.

The man in question walking down the street seemed pulled out of a timewarp. Clad in an operacape, top hat and a tailored suit with tails, he seemed more at home in Victorian England than in a place like this, as well he should be due to his prestigious name and title. As a strong gust of wind almost blew off his hand, the Duke Victor dela Croix, for that was his name, and indeed he was a Duke, held onto his hat and began contemplating seeking shelter somewhere. It was then that he saw it, rising up over the hideous modern structures that so offended his eye. A building that seemed like it was pulled straight from his homeland in Vimy, France. He smiled as his eyes looked over the sturdy, Victorian style workmanship of the structure before him. Without even thinking twice, he strode up to the front door and rapped it with his walking stick, awaiting an answer from within.

Radevel still didn't look overly satisfied with the order. Toast? That was only about enough to feed a hungry bird. Rolling his eyes at the boy's continuation to show his stubborn side, he held back the snide comment of what a 'high maintenance' date he was.

"No," he instead replied. "If you're going to resume acting like this, on the way home, we'll stop at McDonalds and I'll force a Happy Meal down your throat." It wasn't but a few moments later that their drinks arrived. The larger man gladly poured the strong, hot liquid down his throat, not bothering to notice the burn it left on his tongue. Just the smell of the cheap diner's coffee acted as some sort of revival technique. Too bad he hadn't had some of this heaven-sent liquid earlier..

Talis rolled his eyes, obviously not taking the man's threat very seriously. After all... just because he was eating at the same table and agreed to return home... did Radevel honestly expect things to be just the same as before? 'I'd like to see you try...' he thought rebelliously, shooting a challenging glare across the table.

Taking a long, refreshing draw of root beer through his straw, Talis collected himself. He rested an arm on the table, using the palm of his hand to prop up his cheek as he gazed in annoyance at Radevel. "We begin to solve one issue and then you have to ruin the moment, don't you?" he said bitterly, "I was under the impression that you wanted us to be lovers. Not some deranged version of father and son. Or I shall I just call you 'Da-da' from now on?" The questions were sheer sarcasm.

Having assisted Lady B in escorting Shinto up to the bathroom for his bath, Slaine heard the knock at the door. His initial planned path was to head back into the kitchen to check up on Mizi. Afterall, he had been acting awfully strange, he thought. But not seeing anyone else inhabiting the area at the moment, he turned his steps toward the main door.

Ignorantly, he thought who it could possibly be? not taking it into consideration that this was a Gentleman's Club. Out of sheer caution, he slowly cracked the door, enough to slightly peek outside, only to see a man he very much didn't know or even recognize. He didn't look to be any trouble it seemed, despite his oddly chosen attire. This, however, didn't give him the complete reassurance he was hoping for. It didn't stop him from opening the door the rest of the way, his dark eyes trying their hardest to appear welcoming.

"Can I help you with something, sir?" he asked.

"If that's what floats your boat," Radevel said in a most nonchalant fashion. That was, of course, before he catch himself or his wasteful tone. Apparently it was difficult for him to have a meaningful conversation without throwing in his occasional tasteless quip.

"Look, I just don't need you getting sick from not eating, alright?" he pulled back through with the explanation. "I do want these issues solved, however. I thought we had broken through some sort of barrier there for a second, but I guess I was completely wrong. Looks like your defenses are still up full force."

Rolling his straw absently between his thumb and forefinger, Talis watched Radevel's facial expressions barely change with his voice. Barriers? The only barrier they snapped was the youth's will to leave, or so it seemed to Talis. And that Radevel apparently 'believed' that he loved him... yet the man hardly seemed aware of that far-off claim now. It wasn't as if the feeling had been reciprocated toward the teen, either.

"Well if you had my experience," Talis muttered under his breath, "Maybe you'd understand." Oh, little did he know how close to the truth he might actually be.

It seemed like an eternity that Victor was standing outside the building in the chill night air. As he stood there shivering, his cape being wrapped tightly around his lean frame in order to stave off the chill, he sighed bitterly and wondered if it was just in fact an abandoned building.

'Well,' he thought to himself, 'if it comes to that, I shall sleep in here. I don't suppose anyone will mind, if it is in fact abandoned. And besides,' Victor smirked a little self-depricatingly as he remembered something, 'I've slept in abandoned tenements before.'

He eventually came to the reasonable assumption that the place was deserted and was about to kick the door in, when he saw it crack slightly. He knew someone was watching him from within the building, and was finally shown who it was exactly when the door finally swung open. There stood a lean, muscular young man who was probably younger, if not the same age, as the Duke by all appearances. The Duke stared at the young man, sizing him up, but it was his longish, dark hair that made Victor take notice. Seeing it shimmer in the faint twilight made Victor's breath still in his chest. Regardless, he did not take kindly in being made to wait for service. Despite being sent away by his parents, Victor was still a noble in name, and was slotted to take over his family's dynasty, and as such he had come to demand a certain level of respect from people he considered beneath him.

He stared long and hard at the young man in front of him, the Duke's steely gaze seeming to pierce right through the man's body and into his soul, stripping all his emotional barriers down until the young man's deepest, darkest, innermost secrets seemed to be laid bare to Victor. Victor continued to stare at the young man standing in the doorway as he doffed his top hat and took one step forward. His answer, or rather his demand, was curt and to the point without seeming rude.

"A room."

After a moment of consideration, another word left the Duke's mouth.

"...please." This second word was not necessarily used out of common courtesy or politeness, but rather it gave the sentence a sort of authoritative finality. He would have his room, and there was nothing the boy in front of him could do to stop him from having it. However, there was also a strange warmth in the Duke's rather aloof tone of voice. An unusual warmth and kindness normally not posessed by nobility. Victor smiled slightly, as if he hadn't smiled in years and took another step forward, waiting to be let in.

Only a few moments after he had offered assistance to Adrian, the brunette's pocket began to vibrate in a rhythmic fashion. Mizi pulled away from the counter and pulled a cell phone from his pocket. It wasn't anything flashy, but rather one of the older models; he'd obviously had the device for a couple years. When the number identified itself a troubled frown marred his brow. No... it couldn't be...

"I'll be back in just a moment," he excused himself from the two newer boys in the kitchen and moved out into the hallway. Lifting the phone to his ear and pressing a button, he spoke hesitantly, "...H-Hello?"

"It's been a long time, Miz," came a horribly familiar voice that instantly made the prostitute's stomach churn uncomfortably, "It's me. Uh.. "

"Val?" he whispered disbelievingly. Why... was his ex-fiance calling him now? After two years of silence? Two years of Mizi emotionally beating himself up for losing him...

"Mizi? Ya there?" Val's voice came clearly through the receiver.

Trembling, Mizi leaned his back against the wall. "I'm.. I'm here," he replied before asking anxiously, "What do you want?"

Val seemed to hesitate for a moment, giving Mizi time to adjust the phone against his ear. "I want to see you. I'm in town."

Radevel's lip quirked in a show of agitation with Talis's statement. His icy eyes narrowed. "You don't know anything," he said, tipping the lip of his cup back to pour the coffee down his throat, swallowing his words right back down.

His gaze wasn't directed on the boy across from himself, no. More so avoiding him in their rather far-off look. A sickly feeling churned in his chest. Why did Talis have to mention 'experience' in such a matter? He knew of the memories that pushed through the mental barrier he had put up in his mind long ago, trying to break through and consume him. But he would never allow himself to remember anything. Far too many years had passed, tainted blood spilt..

Setting his cup back onto the table, Radevel glanced up at the clock on the far wall. "It's pretty late," he said blandly. "I know of a motel near here we could stay at until morning, then we can head back home."

Beneath the man's hard and lingering gaze, Slaine was feeling, needless to say, awkward, for lack of a better word. Intimidated? To be sure. One foot slid back with the stranger's second step forward. It wasn't necessarily he was frightened of this oddly dressed man. But within this house, the waiter was merely not used to such an assertive tone. Not with the gentle Lady B as his 'mother' figure and all the other boys who were all so kind.

Either way, he wouldn't be able to turn Victor's request down. Out of natural courtesy, he couldn't. It was past dark out, no doubt getting chilly. But was it just a room for the night this man wanted or was he an expecting customer? he could only but wonder.

Stepping aside, he gestured for the stranger to enter. "Sure," Slaine nodded, closing the door behind Victor. He took the time to eye the man's frame. Slender build, dark hair.. He looked as if he had come right out of some Victorian era-based novel.

"Will you just be staying tonight or will you partaking in our.. services?" he questioned. It was just something he felt he had to ask, being apart of a branch of this home's business.

Having toast set down before him as his and Radevel's plates were placed upon the table, Talis shrugged. His old sense of humor bubbled inside of him. 'Just can't wait that long to get me back in the sack, again?' he thought jokingly to himself, yet the youth couldn't seem to voice anything of that nature. He chewed dryly on a bit of toast, glancing anxiously up at the man on occasion.

"I ... suppose that means sharing a bed?" he said in an undertone after swallowing.

Radevel could only imagine by the unpleasant sound of a distinct 'crunch, how unfilling the plain morsel of food must be. While set in front of himself was what appeared to be grilled chicken, steamed vegetables, and a healthy pile of mashed potatoes smothered in gravy. The contrast between their two meals was almost pathetic.

"If it comes to them having rooms with only one bed, then I suppose that would be a yes, Talis," Radevel answered, stabbing a fork into a particularly lush piece of broccoli. He never thought there would ever be an awkward night of sharing a bed with Talis until today.
