Radevel came to a halt as he felt that hand, the warmth he wasn't expecting to feel for so much longer, take ahold of his wrist. No doubt he seemed slightly surprised by Talis's sudden concern. And here he thought it had all been spent on the unconcious man with a broken nose. Despite hearing more than enough of the attempt to get himself 'checked', he felt the light perk of one corner of his mouth. Could it possibly be.. a smile? After having stressed his way throughout the entire day, was he actually feeling some glimmer of reprieve?

Either way, it felt to be one of the strangest things of the day. Tearing his own gaze from the boy, he forced the hint of a smile back into an expressionless facade. His eyes, however, would reveal enough with how much they had considerably softened, looking almost.. weary. "It's only a bruise," Radevel said. He pulled slightly against the grasp that held him, but not nearly with enough force to break it. "Nothing I can't get over on my own. What about you? .. Are you hurt at all?"

It was a rather stupid question on his behalf, he realized. He could still easily spot that split lip, the battered features. The physical offenses he brought upon Talis.

Talis's light brown eyes finally darted up to meet the surprisingly soft ones as he felt the other's pressure within his hand. The look in Radevel's eyes surprised the youth a little, but Talis could only manage to overlook it.

Was he hurt? Yes. Talis's ribcage and side were more than bruised. His left leg felt sore. The center of his back by which he'd been sent to the floor ached terribly. Talis... still felt the reminders of pain from that morning. However, the youth was stubborn. He wasn't about to let Radevel know just how much he was hurting physically.... he wasn't about to look weak.

"Um... 's'just bruises," Talis mumbled, releasing the man's wrist to let his hand sweep over his own jawline and cover his split lip subconsciously as he looked away once more. "I'll live... let's just... get something to eat..." He tried, hoping Radevel would latch onto the change of topic and agree to food.

Radevel could hardly believe that one. Normally Talis would come whining to him over a small scratch, making him clean and bandage it for him because he was 'in too much pain' to put a bandaid on it himself. But here now the boy claimed mere bruises were nothing? He knew to some extent of the pain he brought upon Talis. And it was no playground injury. But he was going to let the other have his pride, and say nothing else of the matter.

"Good idea," Radevel agreed, looking around. He spotted a grocery store to their left, a convenient store across the street, and a small diner-looking restraunt some ways to their right. It looked to be their best bet.

"Hope you don't mind treating.. Seeing as how you still have my wallet," he said, starting toward the diner.

Adrian watched as all the action and panic seemed to die down and as the youth he brought in was carried away. He had noted two males enter the kitchen, though one had left recently. Maybe the other was the other pastry chef, if not he could always point him in the direction of one.
Adrian meandered over to the kitchen in his laid back manner only to find the other man concentrating on the pot of soup that was simmering before him.
Adrian didn't want to seem needy so he started to overlook items in the kitchen that he would use for pastries. He'd wait for the other to be less occupied.

Talis shook his head as he followed the other closely. Having had pocketed the wallet, he now took the foreign object out again and, along with the leather item, out came a folded strip of what appeared to be paper. Talis reached over to pick it up, yet the wind caught it, dragging it further away. Chasing the folded strip across the parking lot, Talis dodged a backing up car and finally retrieved it safely. He tucked the seemingly valuable slip into his back pocket and returned the little ways to meet Radevel at the door of the diner. Wordlessly slipping inside, he didn't offer an explanation, but showed the wallet and nodded, affirming that he would pay.

"2... it doesn't matter where you seat us..." Talis told the hostess, as she grabbed two menus and guided the pair to a booth.

Once settled in, Talis pushed the wallet back over to Radevel's side of the table. "... I feel awkward carrying it. Just... take it back.... it doesn't feel right."

Radevel rose a brow curiously as Talis scurried after the paper. He had caught only the smallest of glimpses at it, having time only to note it what appeared to be two heads in a picture and nothing else before the wind turned it from his sight. "Ta-!" he started, a hand beginning to reach out as he spotted the car backing up toward the boy. As he dodged it, that hand went up to rub over his face in a stressed sort of relief. He couldn't help the low, lightly scolding comment as they entered, "Be more careful."

Now seated at the table, he looked absently at the menu. That is, until that familiar, leather billfold was pushed his way. Shaking his head, he returned it to the middle of the table. "I'll decide who it's going to once we resolve a few things," he stated, resurfacing the earlier drowned subject he wished never existed. "Now.. where were we before?"

Talis returned his hand to his lap and let his eyes travel away from the wallet, surveying the other diners in almost nervous interest. He was worried about returning to the issue...

He was nervous about not being strong-willed enough, that his resolve might be broken. Bringing his gaze back to Radevel, Talis's leg began to subconsciously start bouncing under the table again. "I don't remember. What do you want resolved?" he murmured, leaning back into the booth seat, and fingering the edges of his menu. "I.. can't go back with you. I already said that."

With the entry of the somewhat familiar face, Mizi's attention was further distracted from Hikari. "If you need anything, just let me know, okay?" he reminded the skittish youth.

Having poured the soup into a bowl, and the rest of it into a container, Mizi deposited a store of soup in the refrigerator before speaking up to Adrian.

"Do you need any help?" he asked kindly.

"That's exactly what I want resolved right there. I do want you to come back with me," Radevel said, mentally crossing out the word 'want' and replacing it with 'need'. Not quite for any business's sake, but for his own. "What I want resolved is us, Talis. I know you're upset, and I've finally brought myself to understand you have every right and reason to be. But I.. I want it fixed. That's what we're going to do now." He poked a finger onto the table top as if to say he wanted this thing over with right then and there.

Taking a deep, soothing breath, he began- "About last night. What you were saying about your.. feelings," he started. "I believe you, Talis. It took me some time to come to terms with it, but I believe you now."

Talis opened his mouth to reply, but was cut off by the likes of a waitress asking for their drink order.

"Root beer, please," he ordered to the side. After the girl had taken Radevel's order as well, she left the youth in a state of disarray, collecting his once-more scattered thoughts.

When they returned to him, he blinked and paused for a moment with the realization of what Radevel had told him. His feelings... his tears.

"So you don't think it was all just some distraction, anymore?" he asked softly, a little unmasked hurt underlining his voice. "Because I still--" He glanced up at Radevel before letting his eyes fall to his menu once more, his shoulders slumped in a bit of a defeated manner. "I still... love you."

"Coffee," Radevel ordered. "Black." He needed something strong.

It didn't take him but a moment to notice that glazed look over Talis's eyes. But what he said.. it worked almost as an encouragement to him. So as to the point the larger man was leaned over now, his forearms braced on the surface of the table. "No! In fact, I know it wasn't a distraction," he said. Of course, he didn't know this as a written-in-stone fact, but he wasn't allowing himself to believe anything else otherwise.

With the last statement, he was shot back into silence. He had heard Talis say it before, but it was exceptionally different this time around. Having come to terms with.. 'feelings' of his own, it seemed to affect him differently.

".. I know," he replied in a softer tone. "But wouldn't that stand as some sort of reason you should stay here?"

Talis felt his determination to leave his lover ebbing away from his very core. Radevel finally believed him. Wasn't that what he'd wanted for so long? The man didn't think he was just a joke anymore. Talis hung his head, eyes unfocused on the menu in his lap.

This changed everything, didn't it?

Talis shifted his weight just enough to pull out a folded strip of paper-like material from his left back pocket. He opened it, smoothing the crease between his thumb and index finger. His prized strip of photos of him and Radevel. Talis felt a pang in his chest. Unable to lift his head and look at the man, Talis pushed the strip of pictures onto the table's surface toward Radevel.

"C-can I have n-new ones taken?" he asked in a weakened voice, before retreating his hand defeatedly back over the table's surface and leaving the pictures where they lay.

Noticing Talis remove the item from his pocket, the same something he had earlier chased down in the parking lot, Radevel eyed the other curiously until it was slid before him. Picking it up almost gingerly, he was immediatly reminded on the copy he had himself. The one kept hidden in the desk in his room, beneath several books and papers so only he could look at the pictures on occasion.

As if a dam within him had been broken, relief flooded within Radevel. He assumed that what Talis had said meant he was going to indeed stay with him. For the past few years, he realized what he had thought was his own form of happiness was only a sort of satisfaction with how his life had made the turn to where he was that day. Only since Talis had arrived, did he actually begin to feel any traces of real 'happiness'. And that's what he was feeling then. He only wondered if everyday had to be so full of frustration before he could result to this ending.

"That sounds like a good idea," he responded, not bringing his gaze away from the pictures. He didn't want to show off exactly what comfort he was in after listening to the other. "Whatever you want."

Talis nodded, leaning back wearily in his booth. He was speechless and felt drained of energy. What else was left but to ... go back? Talis didn't have to stumble over his thoughts for very long, however. Soon, an older woman came to take their order.

"Y'all ready ta order, gents?" she asked with a gravely voice. Whipping out a pad of paper and pen she looked up expectantly.

Talis shook his head. It wasn't that he wasn't hungry necessarily... but he'd lost the will to eat.

"I don't want anything," he murmured, "Go ahead, Rad."
