Keith patted B on the neck as he hopped off to open the gate so they could enter. Didn't the horse whisper say that? He drawled, a thoughtful lihgt in his eyes.

MiserysStoryBookEnding Shannon stepped up beside Tuck after she put down Cali, who went back to the kittens and was loooking up at Suzzi wearily. Do you like horses? She asked him, spekaing soft so as not to startle him.  Tuck turned and saw the girl. He smiled. "Yes, ma'am, I do like horses. But this stubborn b*****d don't seem to like me that much." he said, pointing over his shoulder at Dante, who let out a loud whinny and nudged Shannon's shoulder gently, showing a softer side to her than Tuck.. . There can and has been only one Eternal Truth.

" I believe so. And that is true" Emily replied allowing Apollo to walk through the gate.
Emily look behind to see Esmeralda following and sighed. She wanted to get the rounding up over with so she could eat lunch and spend some quality time with Apollo. She always did prefer horses over guys since they weren't judgemental unlike her ex.

"Horse Whisperer," said Esmeralda at almost the same time Keith did. Grinning at him, she said, "The one you missed is from Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption. Kind of an old story, but I love it."
She turned towards the gate and followed Emily through. Sahara tossed her head at the scent of cattle and whickered, eager for the chase.

Shannon scratched Dante behind the ears and rubbed his muzzle. Don't mind him. Once you show him who's boss and that he can't get away with misbehaving, he'll love you.

Nanina kicked a chair and it skidded across the kitchen, clattering against a wall. Stoopid. She yelled, holding her thumb which had been smashed in the cupboard.

Suzzie Ann took the offered hand with a small smile. "Nice to meet you," she said softly before looking at Shannon and looked at the hoses around her. "Im not quite sure. I guess. I have never actually ridden a horse before," she felt rather foolish. She was on a ranch for christ's sake and she didn't even know what she was supposed to be doing.

Esmeralda trotted through it, trying to look everywhere at once - on the ground for possible pitfalls or gopher holes, and around normally for cattle or trees or fence posts.
She was used to riding in a small, fenced paddock where there was nothing, ever, that could go wrong. This was a novel experience for her, and she was loving it.

Emily kept her eyes trained on the cattle that was ahead. She had learned to never look down from a personal experience. Apollo moved through the gate; eager to have fun. Emily on the other hand was off in day dream land like she normally was when horseback riding.

Keith swung back into the saddle after closing the fence. Earth to Emily! He said once he was beside her and had noticed the far away look in her eyes. Keith looked over at Esmeralda and asked, Does she do this often?

From the dawning of time and into the darkest eternity . .Dante snorted playfully and nudged Tuck, who chuckled happily, rubbing the great beast behind the ears. "Alrighty, then, you monster. Emily could hear a voice calling her name and she came back to reality just as quick as she had entered. She patted Apollo on the neck since she felt him increase speed.
" Sorry" She said to Keith knowing full well she should have been concentrating and not spacing off.

Shannon shook her head, a smile on her face. Clapping her hands once, she looked at the girls and sighed. Okai! Pair up and one person grabs a wheelbarrow, the other grabs a shovel.

Keith nodded and pulled out a peice of paper. Each of you need to count teh cattle. Do it silently though, so we don't mess up and miss count. Of course, not all the cattle would be right there, but that was what they where out to do.

Emily nodded and grabbed the paper and headed off to start counting the cattle. She reined in Apollo near a few and began counting mentally while tallying up the number of cattle she counted. It felt like home; sitting on horseback and counting cattle never got old for her.

Suzzie Ann nodded as she complied to Shannon's order and grabbed the shovel. "I'm ready," she chirped quietly, a small smile on her face, hoping she'd be able to do something correct today.

Esmeralda accepted a piece of paper and rode off to the other side, counting as she went. She couldn't use the paper because Sahara was getting frisky - between horse and cattle, she had no attention to spare for writing. Luckily, she had a pretty good head for numbers.
