Babbalui Lady Blodwynn It might be better to buy the book or to read it at your FLGS instead of slowly dragging it out of people here. These rules are essential for play, why wouldn't you buy these? confused babbalui ... I don't have $50+ do shell out for one... Enough said?
So read it at your LGS or see if one of the Vets in the area has a copy that you could borrow for a time. The Rulebook and your Core Codex are the two most important things that a player of this game can own.

Interesting point that I want to bring before you guys.
In Codex: Daemonhunters, their Force Weapons are said to "kill outright," with no mention of Instant Death. In their FAQs, nothing is said of the effect changing to match the rulebook. So, as a point of interest:
Should Daemonhunter Force Weapons be used by the rules in the Rulebook or the rules in the Codex?

I'm also sure you'd be able to buy the small book from someone at your local gaming club or store, people throw those smaller variants away like it's trash over here. :'D Cal: RAI it should be used as others.

However, by RAW, they operate differently from other Force Weapons. I'm just wondering, as I'm probably gonna be fighting Daemonhunters at my LGS in fairly short order.

The main rulebook clearly states that rules found in a codex take precedence over newer rules in the rulebook. I can't be arsed with the correct page that states so right now, I'm huffing glue and imagining boobs. sweatdrop

What's the purpose about the question anyways? What kind of model in your army would it affect?

Well, it has to do with incorporating Daemon Princes, given that they're Eternal Warriors. I wanted to do the epic battle of Daemon Prince vs Grand Master, but if he can kill me in a single swing, it's not gonna go down like that.
And it's just something to have handy for knowledge. I figured that the Codex would supersede Rulebook, and I knew that the rule is listed as such in the rulebook, but I wanted to make sure. Many thanks, guys.

This thread isn't for members who want to use it -instead- of getting a rulebook, this is for people who -have- the rulebooks and don't understand part of what they're reading. If it were the former, we'd run the risk of a lawsuit, so I'd appreciate not trying to abuse it. Enough said.

Personally I find it rather sad that people who WANT to play the game don't want to invest in the core rulebook. Getting a rulebook will save you a lot of headaches.
Failing that get Assault on Black Reach if you're a penny pincher, that set has everything and then some for only ten bucks more. Invest today, don't get left behind tomorrow.

get pair of AOBR sets with a friend if you're low on money, I've started my marines that way... then expanded by more second-hand AOBR models, then finally started fleshing out heavy support, one tank at a time.

That's the issue. I have a 4th that I bought less than a month before 5th. I'm pissed and not investing in something like that again, since I have NO money and I am attending a $25,000 college with little financial aid. Any college student in that situation in here can understand that dilemma. wink As for buying the rulebook, I'll get on that this summer when I can work again and I'm out of school. Until then, I just learn the rules as I go at GW and I do need clarification as to what has changed from 4th. I do know the rules to an extent and own a rule book. It's just outdated and my known rules aren't always correct. I asked for clarification from rules that I was unsure about, but had previous experience with in 4th. There are no terms for lawsuit on clarification of a known rule.
