"Make sure you get it right, that the right hand should be over the left hand," Andou said to Yoroi when he saw him having difficulties. "That affects your chakra more than a slight angle error when you're bending your thumbs." He'd halted the movement of his chakra spark when talking to Yoroi and started again focusing. So far so good. Well, Andou hadn't done much fighting lately, especially not in the ninjutsu sense. The most he'd done was some back breaking physical work.
"Yes, but only after you learn how to mold chakra, what I'm doing now, and another jutsu," he told Yoroi. "This jutsu works by you materialising your chakra to build up a basic impression of yourself. Therefore you need to be able to mold chakra and practice molding body features. It's easier than it sounds, it comes naturally," Andou reassured him, because he was making it sound like one had to be an artist to do a simple Bunshin no Jutsu.
Anyway, his inspection of his own system had dug up nothing out of the ordinary and so he returned to his molding. Andou flexed it experimentally, watching as it pulsed to his every movement.

Bansame finally made it to the academy building, crossing through the gate and towards the main entrance of the building. What did Sensei Andou say again..second class to the right or to the left? Ban peered down the hallways in the attempt to find the room. It all looked the same to him; there were no signature markers that seemed to address where he should go and no one to ask.
Down the right hallway Ban heard the faint sound of talking, thought he wasn't exactly sure if it indeed was what he heard. Might as well try this way first he thought as he walked down the hall. He stopped at the 2nd door, leaning an ear closer to see if he could hear anything. There was definitely someone speaking inside the room, and most likely someone else who they were speaking to. Ban opened the door carefully, peeking his head through so as not to disturb the occupants. Andou stood there, speaking to another boy about the same age as himself. Ban stood in the doorway in confusion, staring at Andou. There was no way he could have found him in the Housing District, told him to report here, and then make it back to the classroom with such a great head start. It didn't make sense to him.
"Uhm, Sensei Andou, Ban gave a quick bow before continuing his sentence. "Bansame Hoshigaki reporting to the Academy. I was told to give you this." He reached into his pocket and removed a slip of paper stating when, where, and at what time he was to report. "I was also told.. by you.. to give 10 push ups for my tardiness...but I don't understand.. how did you get here so fast Sensei?"

Andou turned his head over to meet Ban's eyes, before taking the paper from Ban. "Thank you, Hoshigaki. Welcome to the life of a shinobi. That's your classmate Fubuki, although I expect that you'll be making acquaintances with each other later." He seemed to have ignored Ban's question entirely for favour of getting facts straight. "Know that now you are officially considered a shinobi by the Council, even before your graduation. I expect that there'll be some missions up soon.
"And you will learn a jutsu like this later on in the academy," he finally explained. "It's called the Bunshin no Jutsu. You make physical copies of yourself with chakra. I sent my copy to the housing district and stayed here." He couldn't be bothered to make another one to show Ban though, especially since Andou didn't like wasting chakra. The first time with the water clone had been a small indulgence.
"Yes, you are late," Andou agreed with his clone. "So 10 push-ups please, over on the side." There was a small exercise mat over on the corner for when the class had to do practical demonstrations too small for the gym.

Ban was amazed. He had heard of jutsu being able to create clones of the user, but never knew that they would be so realistic. The clone he spoke to looked like Andou, could speak like Andou, even acted like Andou. Bansame turned to look at his classmate, Fubuki, noticing that he was busy practicing controlling his chakra.
"Yes Sensei." Ban responded, immediately moving to the side and lowering himself to the ground. He readied his hands and knees on the mat and made sure they were comfortable before raising the length of his body off the ground. The strain on his hands and feet were not yet painful however he knew that by the 3rd push-up he would begin to feel the weight of gravity on them.
As he lowered his body down to the ground Ban could feel the muscles in his calves burn from their stretch. I really should of stretched before I started doing push-ups. Oh well. When he came a good distance to the ground Ban pumped his arms in an effort to bring him back up. The whole push-up took very little strain on him, however there were still nine more to go.

Ban prepared himself for the second push up as he lowered his body once more, bringing it just inches from the ground. As was his luck, his footing slipped on his right leg. He dropped that side of his body down to his right knee as he attempted to find a new position for his foot. He didn't understand how he could have slipped from such a simple task, however his nervousness did tend to get the better of him. Hopefully this time he'll have enough traction to keep himself up.
Come on, don't make yourself look bad in front of your new Sensei and classmate. First impressions are everything. Ban resisted the urge to look up at his Sensei to see if he had noticed the slip, focusing instead on a small white dot between the the threads of the mat.

Ban's elevated position was already starting to effect his arms and legs. They began quivering, although their movements thankfully not that noticeable. He took a deep breath as he attempted to evenly distribute his weight across his limbs. He seemed to be putting too much force down onto his hands rather than putting the brunt of the weight down his legs. He shifted his hands and feet in the efforts of getting a more stable position before lowering himself to the ground. As he approached the floor his muscles locked up. Ban began questioning whether or not he would be able to make it back up.

((Been working since 7 and just got back now, so I'm going to go take a nap to reclaim some sleep my boss stole from me, lol.))
With a grunt of effort Ban was able to lift himself back up and into the push-up position. For a few moments he was unsure if he would be able to make it back up, however his arms somehow managed to pump him back into position.
"Two." Ban said, the strain in his voice just beginning to be noticeable. As he steadied his body and positioned his arms Ban prepared himself for another push-up. Please muscles, don't let me down.

"Are you tiring already, Hoshigaki?" Andou remarked drily from his comfortable position on the chair, hunched over, half-focused on his hands and his chakra. "My grandmother could do better." This was obviously a lie, since his grandmother was dead. But you got Andou's point. Yoroi seemed to be still stuck in the same place, but Andou was confident that he would get it in time, and he returned his attention to his chakra.
He squeezed the chakra, causing it to indent inwards. Andou knew that people could mold chakra with their minds. Despada could at any rate, he'd seen her, and maybe Batou could as well, he didn't ask. But he wasn't as in-tune with his chakra as they were. The Saitou specialised more in the physical side of the ninja arts after all. Andou had seen young genin try to mold their chakra into fun shapes like horses or bunnies or puppies when they were training and had scoffed at them. Shinobi life wasn't a game, and he would teach these children so. It may be a harsh truth and one that might not attract any more students, but it was his responsibility to ensure that they were not misinformed. They knew what they were getting into and what they would become. Lost in thought, Andou aimlessly molded his chakra according to whim.

Nik ran through the deepening empty hall. The stairs descending into darkness. She had made this trip many times, it was extremely troublesome when you were late for class. Her heart beat quickly and the girl dropped to her knees hard, the cold stone cutting her skin with blunt force. She mazed through the tunnel and soon found herself out of breath and stumbling out of the hole into the classroom. "I'm here!" she belt trying to pull herself off of her hands and knees. Once able, she stood bolt up-right her hair twisting and curling around her face and eyes. Pushing the pure white hair from her features, which were still covered in a thin layer of dirt from previous adventures, she stepped forward. "I- ah. Ah sorry I'm late." she said between breaths. "What's going on?" she asked Andou-sensei.

Yoroi tried it once again. It was sort of complicated to finish it, but he finally got it right. He noticed that more people had come and the late student had to do several push-ups because he was late. This teacher doesn't mess around. I better not push him over the edge, and judging from his disciplinary measures, the rest of this training won't be easy. Yoroi continued on with his training and continuing on to the next hand seal.

Yoroi was now on the dragon hand seal. He looked at it and stared. This one looks a little more complicated than the others! Can't they just make them easier? I mean you have to do these all the time, just a little bit easier would be nice. He looked at it carefully, but was distracted by Andou's chakra molding. Wait till I can do that! It will be totally awesome! is gaze brought him back to reality when he looked at the book. He gave a sigh and decided that he had to continue on if he were to be like his sensei. He took a long look at the hand seal and folded his hands together. After looking at his hands and the image in the book he shook his head, And this looked hard? Wow...this one is actually pretty simple... He raised his thumbs and his pinkies to form the dragon hand seal.

Yoroi saw another student walking in late. "Hello I am Yoroi Fubuki. You didn't miss much really. He's doing push-ups for being late and sensei just started me on hand seals." He didn't look up from his book when he spoke. His next hand seal was the dog. It was by far the easiest hand seal he had seen. He easily raised his hands and performed the seal. Only a hand full left to perform and then I am finished with my first lesson.

His next seal was the pig hand seal. Again, this looked like a fairly easy one to perform and he quickly made the hand seal with no problem. This is easier than what I thought. This ninja stuff is no problem. I'm not really sure why everyone makes a big deal for how had it is to become a ninja. I could pretty much do this in my sleep. Yoroi looked down at the book and noticed how old it was. Not only did it look old from the damage to the school, but it was old in age. Many shinobi had used this very book at the beginning of their training...even his father...

Yoroi now looked at the next hand seal. His jaw nearly dropped at the sight of the picture. He just stared at the page. The placement of the fingers was very hard to see through the dirty page. He looked at it and his head began to hurt. Ugh, my brain is processing too much. He closed his eyes and held his fingers to his temple.Much better... I hate it when my brain goes hay-wire. He looked back down at the page. This one will take some time...

Ban looked up at the new student to arrive into the classroom, giving them a friendly smile before returning to his task. Had he been given almost any other task, like learning the handseals or molding his chakra Ban would have greeted the new student verbally, however the strain of talking while balancing his body weight on his hands and toes was just too much for him.
He readied his arms before lowering his body once more. The taunting ridicule from Sensei only encouraged Ban to try even harder. Without a thought in his mind he smoothly brought his body back up into the push-up position and confidently counted out loud. "Three." He hoped his Sensei would notice the ease in which Ban performed his third push-up but didn't stop to look.
