TableTopWatch Haar had not wanted to talk in the first place. He had figured he could have gotten away with speaking minimally if guests would be chattering away as well, but...but a meal with Allora? Alone?
The young commander currently had a placed pressed against the small of Alti's back-- well, more or less, clutching at the boy's shirt, as if he was trying, by any mean possible, to not allow the teen to guide him any further towards impending doom.
Wincing as he entered the room, Haar rubbed at the scar under his eye nervously as he eyed the small table. Why did his life have to be so utterly stressful? Why?
[[Cheer up Char-... Anyway, I have to go. Tootles. >w>;;]] Allora settled down comfortably on the opposite side of the table from Alti and gestured for Haar to sit next to her son. She was obviously very taken with the two of them as a couple. "So... how did you find everything? Was the bath alright? I know none of the other Kingdoms are too used to the open air bath, but... we find it very relaxing here," she said, smiling at the pair of them.
As she spoke, they were served each a small pasta dish by silent waitors. A pungent, herby sort of aroma wafted up from the dishes, mingling with the ever present aroma of flowers. THe last waitor layed several bowls of sauces down on the table before he left.((The way I see it... the Storms people like having choices upon choices so they can skip three courses and (in this case) still be overly full with the rest of the food.... because there's a lot. xD;;;; ))

The young man murmured a soft thanks towards the waiter who set down his plate before looking up at Allora, red-eyed gaze wavering slightly. "It was...definitely a new experience. It wasn't horrible, but I don't think fire natives, as a whole, like the water too much- at least in such large quantities," Haar explained with a faint grin.
[[Sorry this is so short. x__x;;]]

Allora nodded in an understanding, motherly sort of way, a soft sigh leaving her lips. "Yes, well, that can't be helped, I suppose..." she murmured slowly, a small frown on her lips. But the frown was replaced almost immidiately by another smile. "Well, anyway, enough with that. Eat up - and don't worry... if it's something not to your taste, there's plenty more to choose from," she explained happily. She was quite looking forward to the other's reaction of their food. The Storms people had always been big lovers of good food.
Alti had already begun to eat, an expression of minimal interest (for the conversation) on his face.

Haar nodded gently before scrutinizing each sauce dish. One, in particular, looked excessively spicy (something like a curry)-- which was always a plus in his mind. Ladling some of the orangey-red sauce over the pasta, the young commander soon began to eat minutes later. The food was quite good, much different than the stock he was used to eating on missions or inbetween meetings around the capitals.
Inbetween bites, Haar set down his fork, looking over at the easily-excited woman, "So... So who exactly is here, anyway? Only people from your nation, right?" He didn't want to hear that some sort of official from the fire kingdom was here, Haar still wasn't exactly sure about what would happen if the nation found out about this...

KineticTang "Well, in the Kingdom of Light, those who choose the path of The Light make a traditional journey across the land when they turn 18. We do it so we can explore our land and learn about others cultures while spreading The Light and the words of The Divine. I just happened to come here" K replied, happy that someone took intrest in his journey. "Tea's ready" he said, placing two cups on the table. Cain looked mildly interested, more distracted than anything else as he nodded, "I don't think I'd be able to pick up and leave home so easily. I guess it helps that the fire and light nations are strong allies though," the knight commented as he sat down at the small table. "Sort of like a home away from home here. Are you trying to get anywhere specific in this kingdom? The capital?" He asked, looking up from his cup.

He didn't want to hear that some sort of official from the fire kingdom was here, Haar still wasn't exactly sure about what would happen if the nation found out about this... "Mostly just us Storms natives. But we almost always have visitors from other Kingdoms - Earth mostly because of our closeness and our trade... But we get a fair amount from the majority of the Kingdoms," she explained. "Of course, with this whole impending - and completely pointless - war thing going on, our supposed 'enemies' tend to stay away.... We used to have quite successful deligations from the Kingdom of Light, for example, but now they don't seem all too happy with us.... And, of course, the Fire Kingdom has never really been... how should I put it? Well... they've never liked us much," she explained with a delicate sigh. She had already selected several of the sauces and had them ladeled onto various portions of his dish. She took a bite and smiled.

Haar nodded, relaxing slightly--just enough that his hands wouldn't start shaking. Overall, the dinner had started off nicely. Allora hadn't asked anything awkward and...the food was delicious.
Leaning forward, Haar grinned widely. Ah, now this was a topic he enjoyed ranting about, something he could ramble on and on for hours, if need be. "I don't really understand why our people view your nation as such a threat...to, well, anything. I can understand the ice kindom, but you'd think we'd have much better relations since we had common allies before all the rebellions," he murmured with an almost aggrivated expression. "I still need to figure why we," he gestured towards himself and the teen next to him, "Were attacked by ice archers in the kingdom of death. I never...even saw that coming. They've been nuetral for centuries..." His voice started to trail off as he continued to replay the event in his mind. They could have easily been killed if Alti hadn't transported them here... No matter his rank or skill, anyone foot soldier's weakness was archers or rangers, who attack from far distances. "I just don't understand how troops could've gotten through their borders," he murmured softly, almost to himself.
[[They got through the borders, dear Haar, because I rule over your life. muwhahahaaaaa. evil heart ]]

Allora nodded earnestly, finishing her bite before she replied. "The Kingdom of Death as a whole may be nuetral, but people do not always share their rulers' opinions. Perhaps security may have become lax towards certain intrusions due to... personal belief," she suggested, neatly twirling her fork so that another several strands of pasta were entangled before lifting the utensil to her mouth.
Alti was listening quite intently, but was made rather aware of just how little he had to talk about with the pair on this subject. It was that he really cared - it was just annoying to hear that his mother and his supposed "lover" actually had some mutual ground.

"I realize that not everyone can agree with their rulers' opinions, but I've never experienced any animosity from the death kingdom. I try to visit villages every so often in certain nations to get a feel for the peoples' feelings and I asume they know I'm from the fire nation. I know I don't exactly look like royalty, or pure bloode for that matter, but not many people in that nation look quite like me," he explained with a a half-grin. It was rare to see anyone outside of the fire nation with red eyes, such as his. The color was almost a trait of fire natives, shades varying from dark russet colors to pale ruby- but red through and through.
"I suppose I'll have to talk with the death kingdom soon over this matter. Or possibly I can get the king to actually do something in concern to foreign affairs." Speaking of foreign affairs, the officer eyed Alti for a few moments with a light curve of his lips before turning his dark-red gaze towards Allora.

Allora saw the glance that Haar shot Alti and a small, rather more secretive smile spread across her lips. They really did make quite the pair - and who'd have thought it? It was a shame the man had to be from the Fire Kingdom of all Kingdoms - not that she was particuarly against any of the other Kingdoms. She was merely worried about what others would say when Alti - already surrounded with rumours of his paternity - was found to be consorting with a Fire native. Allora's smile softened slightly and she glanced at the flowers for a moment before her gaze returned to Haar. The flowers were quite pungent. She knew Alti had never liked them - but they comforted her.
((Haha... wonder what type of flowers they are? xD ninja *coughaphrodisiaccough*))

[[-dead- x3]]
Running his hands over the tops of his legs before resting them at his sides, clenched against the seat, Haar frowned gently. Was it just him, or was it hot...in this room? Not exactly a comforting, smooth heat, but more stuffy than anything else. Crinkling his bad eye, the soldier rubbed at his right eye with the back of his hand for a few moments before continuing, "So, what are these types of flowers?" He asked, eyeing the pastel-colored flora that adorned the entire room to an extreme. "I don't think we have anything like them back home," he explained, letting his hand fall back to the table.

"They're a cross-breed between quite a few varieties of flowers... they're hard to grow and harder to maintain.... They have some sort of complicated name, but I just call them Silver Bells... like the song," Allora replied with a soft smile. The flowers were a little bit bell-shaped... but they certainly weren't silver. That only happened in summer when the heat and humidity caused them to wilt slightly. "They're native to our Kingdom - not even the Earth Kingdom can grow them quite as successfully as we - because we can, for the most part, control the weather and temperature and everything else in their space," she explained.
What she didn't mention was that she had developed them herself... for special needs. Sometimes the easiest way to get a patient to recover was to lull them into a daze of infatuated peacefullness.
Alti looked around at the flowers for a moment before his gaze returned to his place. He ate another bite of the pasta, but it tasted... different. It was true that smell constitued for about seventy percent of taste, but... the flowers were beginning to be overly pungent. And the scent was affecting Alti's meal. A small scowl rested on the teen's lips and he leaned forward, head propped on his hand, elbow resting on the table.

K sat down at the table and began to drink his tea.

[[Sorry 'bout that, I was helping my parents outside. :B This will most likely be my last post for a while. I really need to study for exams. X3]]
Haar twirled a bit of pasta around his fork with a thoughtful expression, "Interesting." Although the effects of such flowers could probably be deemed 'interesting,' the nature of them as a whole bored the commander extensively, and since he didn't want his hostess finding out just how bored he was with her continual explaination about the plants, he busied himself with his food-- which tasted extra spicy now~! That was okay though, he needed the jolt to make sure he stayed awake.
----
Cain nodded, "Hm, you sound like some sort of cleric or something," he murmured before taking a sip of tea, staring the pale jade liquid for a moment or so. Looking up, the knight smiled gently, "Nice tea. You said you'd go wherever people needed help but do you have any plans at all? I'm heading to the capital later tonight with another soldier. We could escort you there if you want."

K was excited that he was making friends. "I certainly hope that...." K's gaze went blank as his words suddenly trailed off. He seemed to suddenly notice something, but he wasnt really looking at anything. "Excuse me" he said dully, standing up and leaving immediatly, almost rushing. He could sense it. It was in this city, stalking its prey. K had to leave, he had to go far from this place and loose it before it found him again. He grabbed his pack and flew down the stairs, throwing some coins on the innkeepers desk before rushing out the door.
