Flamers in with the melee groups. Yeah they don't come with flamers, it's something of a bummer, I scrounge Marine flamers from a friend. And spikey bits.. they can be done with toothpick tips.

And if you like masses, then you should go with masses. Flamers are just very good for close combat squads, being able to do their job and then run into combat too.

The larger squads just mean more points, so. You can give the AC a power weapon for 10pts less, which is alright. Power fists aren't all that much use against number - just characters. But like I said, they assure you at least one wound; especially with spikey bits, so then if the enemy causes none.. well I don't want to get into trouble by indulging too far in the rules.

hmm, So I have to make the spikey bits myself?
interesting....
When I save up my money for the next 5 or so weeks my purchases will be firewarriors, maybe a Chaos Codex and some of the snipper thingies that take the parts off the templates.
If not a chaos codex that maybe some dice and a tape measure.

smile Just be sure to get DIY tapemeasure and snippers and typical gaming dice. GW stuff is far too expensive for what it is.

You get spikey bits in like vehicle sprues and stuff, but then you still have to take them apart, they aren't intended for troopers.

There's also the point of just *saying* your AC has spikey bits. It is usually spikiest, afterall.

Completely off track, I think that the smile smiley is awful. It looks like he's some inmate's b***h and is having to grin a bear it. It doesn't look happy at all. XD

Uh, yeah, or you can just charpen the leftover sprues. There's shedloads of spare plastic on those, you can easily glue them and shape them.

Flamers come from a Havoc sprue, so you might have to indivisually order that in.

Chaos Raptors also have an EXCELLENT special weapons sprue that can easily be used for any squad.

Good news, I found my other box and its parts that I havent used yet. I havent found the few guys im missing though. This however ends the tragety that is my chaos arent finished (missing shoulder pads, power packs, knifes, and so on)

But I found some stuff that wasnt in the box set, it seems to be a scope, not sure what its for, although I would assume it was for a bolter...

Just fashion. They're extras for Marines. No rules for them.

Glad to hear you found your stuff.

*EDIT*

Unless! You could use them for WYSIWYG target finders. Though I'm not sure if that's available to Marines. I just only ever used them as fashion accessories.

yeah me too, I was starting to worry if I had to get another set just to finish these ones....

More good news, I finally figured out ( by lookin at the box I found ) where those clothes with pistols and knives on them go... sweatdrop
I thought they went on the waist but they didnt quite fit so I didnt mess around with them, but the box illustrates them going on the leg which makes a hell of alot more sense.

hmm, what else...
oh yeah, I see that I used up most of the mutations on the recently found box set mutation sprue, so the guys im missing must be pretty gruesome.

Already thinking of half a** strategies involving using a shooting squad to walk infront of a close combat group while shooting at enemies. When they get close enough to charge, the shooty group will step to the side and continue shooting while the CC squad runs up and starts hacking.
PostPosted: Sat Sep 30, 2006 3:10 pm

I stick mine on the waist of my CCers, bulks them out a little.

And as of your stratagy. Don't wanna put you down, but that wouldn't work so great.

They can shoot your CC squad whether your shooters are there or not, and stepping them to the side wouldn't really be feesable on the term bases.
By the time you can move them close enough, your shooty squad will be dangerously close. I think if you're gonna move them like that, your best option is the get them close then charge them in, spreading your shooters all round the victims and charging your CCers in behind them, remember, you have a 2" leeway.

Ehehehe, I'm thinking of using the Death Gaurd rules to make a loyalist group of Death gaurd members that were forgotten.

hmm, for some reason, I really want to buy more chaos over pursuing tau right now....
maybe because of the massive price differences, its $30 for some frickin khorne berserks which is $5 less than some stinkin fire warriors!

and plus, chaos are more durable, and you have more options when customizing them...that is what I aim for

Not possible in the fluff. Also if you wanted to make loyal untainted DG it would be the marine codex using trust your battle brothers and purity above all. Lots of apothecaries. But yeah All the DG were tainted, the only exception is Captain Garro, and hes most likely dead and did not have the men to have an army, only a small society such as the kill team Im making, otherwise theres nothing small enough Im aware of to represent them.
