Ninja_Warrior2 anyone know how to use shadowsun effectively against marines or any good stratgeys against the marines AP3 weaponry will be your best friend in a fight against marines. So take at least one Hammerhead with an Ion Cannon. And a unit of Sniper drones can do a lot for your cause aswell. Woohoo first post on page 100^^

Ninja_Warrior2 Reddemon Ninja_Warrior2 anyone know how to use shadowsun effectively against marines or any good stratgeys against the marines Well, shes probly good for cutting out their troop transports. Other then that, shed probly be best for backing up your other stealth suits still wont help me use what i need to take out marines In truth, any gun is good agiansts marines. If you give em enough shots, you will slowly drop their squads. Put hey in a squad of stealth suits like I said. 7 man squad with war gear. Plus Shadowsun will make it nasty

That won't be easy... I will igve it a try. 3nodding Also, does anyone have a good suggestion for an army? I ave already built a 2k point army, but it sucks pretty bad... I have 14 gun drones, 38-40 kroot, about 30 fire warrios, 2 shield drones, 1 hammer head with railgun, 1 sky ray (interchangable with devilfish and both hammerhead options), 4 XV8 Crisis battle suits (I have 2 flamers, 1 heavy flamer [custom], 1 multi-las [custom], 3 fusion blasters, one missle pod, and 1 burst cannon), 2 stealth suits (Not a complete squad), 2 Ethereals, 9 pathfinders (Still need 2 devilfish and a few more pathfinders), and a few custom kroot and firewarriors. I am planning on using a bunch of different stuff though. I am hopefully getting 3 broadsides, 2 devilfish, 7 more pathfinders, 10 vespids, a few kroot hounds and krootox, one battlesuit commander, and maybe Shadowsun or Aun'Va. I won't use these all at one time of course, but does anyone suggest anything?

Nix the vespids they dies way too fast
Try using a Mechanised tau list. It is actually pretty darn good. Through everything in pirahnas and get at least2-3 hammerheads per army

I won't use these all at one time of course, but does anyone suggest anything? I would avoid picking up Pathfinders. Most peoply play Tau by operating on the principle of "Don't get shot." Battlesuit shuffle, fast moving skimmers at long range, and infantry either at long range or in transports. Pathfinders however, have to be out in the open to do thier work, and your opponents will generally know how incredibly useful they are. Consequently, I have never seen Pathfinders live more than three turns when the opponent has any 36" weapons. They make a neat Kill Team, but they're just silly in a real battle. Likewise, Ethereals have been drastically nerfed in the new codex, and are almost a waste of points. about the only thing I can think to use them for is to throw them in front of your army you they die and you can get preferred enemy for your army, but I'd rather just spend the points elsewhere. Heavy Flamer and Multi-las? Sounds like you've got some house rules for that. I'd recommend either blu-tac or magnets so you can swap weapon loadouts on your Crisis, as that is one of thier greatest strengths. Vespids might be useful in Cities of Death, but I'll wait for that codex to come out before saying anything on it. As they are now they're too fragile to do thier job properly. Definately pick up more Stealths. They're useful.

If you do take a etheral, give him nothing wargear wise, and slap him with a retuire. And the first round of shooting, try to take him out. Then you got yourself a nice little BS4 squad of Tau. And Oryn, Pathfinders will become alittle bit useful in a city fight, if they can draw a bead, they will piss people off, and Ive seen Vespids been useful aslong as they are supported well

Being able to reduce cover saves can be a life saver. I have not tried Vespid in a City Fight yet myself but I might try them out soon.

Neither have I, but you can sense their usefulness, with a 5+ armour save, they wont get shot up so much in a city fight

I have talked to my friend about mechanizing my army and they suggested buying Farsight and selling a lot of my unused characters. I think I am going to sell all of my kroot and Ethereals. 3nodding I will have all of my suits, tanks, drones, and firewarriors left. 3nodding I think I will pass on all of the extra stuff that I mentioned. 3nodding Farsight allows you to make pretty much an all battlesuit army, right?

Battle Suits are a 1+, and you can have 7 in his body gaurd. But other then that, It would be just as easy to use your suits already, and just mount every single mini with a 4+ save in a devilfish, btw, keep your etheral, and give him a body gaurd and mount them in a devilfish 3nodding

Body gaurd? Mount? What kind of bodygaurd are you thinking of? What does that 1+ to battlesuits mean?! gonk and what is this hub-bub about 4+ armour save? You mean any units inside of a devilfish gets a 4+ armour save? I have almost no idea what you just said... sweatdrop
