Saberlin nodded in agreement at Fern's comment. "You are right. The rays of the sun can be harsh, so I brought several bottles with me just in case - and some aloe vera gel"

One could never be too prepared, in Saberlin's opinion. It was better to be safe than sorry. He had even booked many hospitals and medical staff way in advance, so something like sunscreen was of course taken care of! "Ah, here comes our breakfast. It smells delicious" he observed, sniffing appreciatively as the waitress returned and placed their orders in front of them. The bacon was burnt just how he liked it. "Thank you, it looks wonderful" he smiled, picking up his fork.

Saberlin set to devouring his food quickly yet neatly, making it disappear without spilling a single crumb. It didn't take him long to finish - he almost seemed to inhale it.

Soon, he was placing his cutlery on the nearly spotless plate with a soft clink, setting his empty glass of iced water down by its side. "Ahh, that was a great meal. It's the second time I've been so impressed" he smiled, thinking of the fish the other day with his tail swishing happily. "How was your meal, my flower?"

((This is kind of beginning to feel like a one-on-one RP. Where'd everyone else go?? Lol))

"Sure, let's go then!" he nodded, standing up from the table to go back to their room together. He wondered what Fern had been thinking about before.

A short time later, back in their room, Saberlin had already ordered the picnic food baskets from the inn and was now busy trying to find everything he figured they might need for the beach. A beach umbrella, swimming clothes, drinking water, a towel, sunscreen...

As he was putting the last item into the beach bag he'd packed, something fell out of his pocket, bouncing on the bed a few times before falling off and clattering loudly to the ground.

"Oops, I think that was my phone!" he said, trying to see where it had gone. Picking it up, he checked to see if it was damaged, pressing the power button to see whether it would still work. "Bling!" The phone bleeped at him as the screen came to life, announcing that he had several unread text messages. Saberlin's ears twitched curiously. Hmm...okay, so the phone was still working...oh, that message was from his work colleague. And that one too! It could be important. Maybe if he just checked one...

Absorbed in what he was doing, he didn't notice whether Fern had seen or not. She probably wouldn't be happy if she knew he was thinking about work again.

((Eee...Sorry it's taking so long. We're eventually going to get them to the beach! XD))

Checking through the messages, Saberlin began to smirk, then smile, then grin so wide he was showing his fangs before finally he ended up with a frown. “Hmm…” Turning the small device off in disgust and snapping it shut, he tossed the phone into his suitcase, picking up the beach bag instead. Looking around, he spotted Fern on the couch and gave a somewhat sheepish laugh. “Ah, not good news from work I’m afraid. It looks like our experiment with the Fectious Mildslime vaccine backfired. They were going so well and now…ah well, I’m just glad to be with you, my flower. Let’s get going. Sorry for the delay” he smiled, leading the way out to the beach.

With the inn built right alongside the sea, it didn’t take long to get there. Saberlin dumped the beach bag on the warm sand and set up the umbrella to provide them some shade. “Come along, shall we go for a swim?” he grinned, feeling his playful spirit emerging.

“Oh, whoops, almost forgot…how careless of me” Saberlin’s grin slipped a little and his ears drooped slightly as she produced the bottle of sunscreen. He didn’t much care for the sticky feeling it left on his skin but Fern was absolutely right. There was no point in getting sunburn. Grateful for the reminder, he fished the other bottle out of the bag and squeezed some onto his palms, beginning to rub it in.

Suddenly feeling a mischievous spark, Saberlin leaned over and squeezed some cold sun cream on Fern’s back, trying to make her squeal. His tail swished playfully as he waited to see the reaction.

He chuckled when she squeaked at the sun cream 'attack'. The expression on her face was so incredibly adorable; precisely the reason why he had done it.

“Ah ha ha! I got you well and truly” he laughed, holding up the bottle to show her as he finished undressing. Normally he was much more reserved and well focused on his tasks but Saberlin felt like he was finally starting to relax.

Fern…he felt like he could let his guard down around her and everything would be fine. Helping to rub the sun screen on where she could not reach, he clicked the cap closed on the container and put it aside. “So, are you ready to go for a swim? Let’s go…” he urged gently, getting to his feet to offer her a hand up, smiling all the while. He looked happy and full of energy instead of tired and serious.

Fern couldn't help but smile. It was nice to see Saberlin having so much fun. She finished rubbing in the sunscreen and put the bottle away. "Alright, lets go." She took Saberlins hand smiling.

Fern squealed, trying to move out of the way of his splashing. The water was cold, and she hadn't gotten used to it yet. She giggled a bit. it was nice to see Saberlin having so much fun.
