"Adult... he grew quite a bit more in height since the last you saw him," Lore replied with a small smile, "And... oh... some joke that he's trying to beat his mother in the number of children because he and his wife had four children. Even second generation are born from vases which is how they manage it, but with the essence of their parents. So..." he coughed a bit, "Four little ones, Aras being the one who Haradhel saw at the wedding. Aras... likes being with her father it seems."

He grinned a bit.

"You might see her, I do believe Celebor might bring her here and let her stay here while he goes on a hunt once everything gets settled down over back home."

"Ah, that might be changing," Elnara spoke up, blushing faintly. "He was talking about finding someone to train the children, and I think that once that happens ... he won't have to bring her here anymore unless it's a weekend or something."

"Already then?" Lore looked a bit surprised.

Well he shouldn't be after all just because they were small didn't mean they didn't understand enough to start training. Really Surprises were like... children.. just smaller children...

"So he has that more or less figured out, that's good, but hopefully at least for one visit."

"I would hope so," Ulani laughed. "Honestly. You two, grandparents before you're even married. If I don't meet any of your grandchildren, I'm going to be frightfully disappointed, I'll have you know. You make sure to tell Celebor that, too."

Her eyes sparkled brightly as she looked at her two guests.

"Oh, and by the way!" she added cheerfully. "I almost forgot to ask you! How do you like your house?"

"It is amazing," Lore didn't even have to think about it.

There weren't good enough words that could describe the house in the first place so amazing was the only one that came to mind.

"A perfect place to stay," he smiled widely at her.

"And a perfect surprise," Elnara laughed. "We expected to be staying with Elrohir and Haradhel for the year ... which we wouldn't have minded, honestly, but to have a place of our own ... it's just so ... exciting!"

She giggled happily.

Suddenly she grew more serious, and asked, "Whose idea was it?"

Ulani was pleased with their reactions.

"It was my idea," she admitted cheerfully, an impish grin spreading across her face, "but it was Aliya who helped me figure out the details. Ulrich, Aragost, Halmir, Arthael, Adanedhel, and a bunch of the ranch hands helped to build it, but Aliya and I were the ones who took care of making it homey - curtains, bedspread, pictures ..."

"It is...." Lore replied with a smile, "Just seeing everything there, in the way it was set up."

Yes, that was going to be a wonderful place to stay in while they were there.

"I think the first thing that caught my attention was the window... or wall... or rather the window wall in the sitting room."

Ulani laughed. "My idea. The one thing I've wanted, ever since I was a little girl. Unfortunately, we've always had a house to live in, and there's never been a legitimate excuse to tear out a perfectly good wall, so there you have it."

She grinned. "Adanedhel swears he's going to live there someday just for that wall."

There was a chuckle, the thought was very amusing, more so because Lore was sure Adanedhel was going to get competition for that house.

"I can't blame him, Elnara mentioned about the ability to see the sunset from there, and that alone makes the wall worth it."

He wondered in a few years down the road who would be living in that house.

Ulani laughed again, her eyes sparkling as she looked at Lore.

"Surely you must realize," she giggled, "that I planned it that way on purpose? I love sunsets, almost as much as I love storms. Of course, I'm not foolish enough to go out into one anymore, I haven't done that since I was a teenager ... but still ... despite their destructive power, they are quite beautiful."

Elnara giggled. "Yes, Ulani, we've heard all about you and your storms. Honestly, the stories about you when you were younger ... I don't know why you had trouble with Aliya when she was a child, you were much worse than she was."

She looked over at Lore. "I don't know if you've heard all the things Aliya tried to do when she was growing up," she quipped, "but what she wanted to do and couldn't, Ulani did."

"I've.. heard of bit of what Aliya got into when she was younger," Lore admitted, "But I don't know about what she wanted to try and wasn't allowed to do."

He looked amused though, because of the things he had heard Aliya done he thought was crazy enough.

"Any stories you care sharing?"

Ulani thought carefully for a moment.

"I ... suppose the most noteworthy case was when I was a little older, I think I was eighteen or so," she mused. "We were visiting the Southland, I had just met my cousin, Regan - your ancestor, Elnara, the second queen - and we ..."

She laughed. "We were inseparable ... and we were troublemakers. Taking off with the only means our parents would have had to keep an eye on us ... as well as the only means to find us ..."

Suddenly she grew more sober. "I nearly died on that trip," she murmured, "and it ended up being the last wild adventure I went on. After that, I became more responsible ... though I suppose not being able to walk for two years might have had something to do with it."

She blushed faintly, but she was grinning.

It.... was no wonder why there were things that Ulani would not let Aliya do. It sounded like whatever adventures Ulani had they were to the extreme.

"Two years... enough to make anyone twitchy," Lore replied, he smiled a bit, "Must have made you roll your eyes a bit when Aliya was growing up then."

To see almost a miror of yourself.. .well not exactly, but when you can see where your child got it from and could see it was you....
