So, why do you read AB? Is it the sex, gore, blood? Romance, action? Characters, Plot?
For me, its the plot, the characters, and the action. I love it, though I havent gotten to the later books, where apparently, theres sex in every other page. So far, I've just finished Blue Moon and the only REAL sex scene I remember, is when Richard and Anita make love so that the other wolves dont rape her because she decalred herself...some kind of position in the pack. Anyhow, personally I dont mind the sex, usually I just skip it, cause' thats not why I read it.

I read it for the characters/relationships/action...okay, I just love everything about it. I started reading these books way back in the 8th grade when the books were tame. I have read all the book in the Anita and Maredith Gentry series. They get more and more...vividly descriptive and mature. Have you encountered the arduer yet?

I read it because it's bloody good in the aspect of vampires and werewolves, a favorite combo I love to read about wether they're at war with each other or it's s truce somehow. Plus I want to know what happens next and the series has a lot of influnce to my own characters in how they act and behave.

The characters definitely. I just wish that we could actually have a chance to look in on the other characters more often then hearing Anita do another guy. (Personally, I think the sex scenes are boring) I also loved learning about the different types of monsters out there. The one (and right now the only) thing I love about LKH is her research. She's very loyal to it at least. (Unlike her fans)

Her Characters are HOT!!! lol, JK!!! no really they are HOT!!! heart I love how she mixed in all the different kinds of beings (Vampires, Where animals, and all the other things that get thrown in their). And for the first few books, that Plot & Action was great. But now the sex has gotten in the way of what I found good before cry

I read the first book because it came recommended to me by someone whose opinion I valued at the time. I kept reading because of the crime scenes and the not shying away from the details of said crime scenes. I continued reading because I liked the characters. I'm still reading them because I like to think that Laurell K Hamilton has to get back the story at some point in the next book.
I'll keep reading the Merry Gentry books because there was no denying what kind of books those were going to be from the very beginning... But my Anita Blake future relies heavily on the next book. If Edward isn't in it, I'm not going to be pleased. If Edward is in it and Anita ******** him, I'm quitting onthe spot and selling my books after Obsidian Butterfly to the local 2nd hand bookshop. If Edward is in it and they actually do some crime fighting and killing and butchering again like the good ol days, I'll be one happy wolf. smile

For some reason Anita & Edward having sex never crossed my mind. But If that happens, I will stop reading. But i dont think that would Happen Edward doesnt Like the life Anita has. He just wants to KILL the monsters not ******** them. BUT... with the way LKH has been going, who knows what shes gonna do next.

That's exactly how I feel about it...I don't like the idea of Edward being....tame and Anita should do more crime-solving and less bed-hopping.

I lOVE the characters and the action. the romance.... and the frustrating elements of said romance. I never get enough...to this day iv read the entire anita blake series 7 times. i reread the series everytime a new book comes out. thats how much i love them.

Why i read them you ask?
I like how Laurell actually makes a science out of fantasy, she puts the whole book into what could be real life in a world full of baddies and creatures we do nt know about, Laws, politics, nad the biology behind it, she really makes it seems believable, yes i could do without some of the sex, but she even explains that away, somewhat. i like the characters in anita blake, the Meredith books seem like a biteoff of anita, but that is to be expected. I just think she really makes a compelling story, one that can be really enjoyed, and emotion filled. I have cried more than once reading those books. she really helps you to learn about what youa re reading,a nd gets you to really want to look into the facts behind the legends. thats why i stayt loyal to reading the books, even with the excessant sex.

I read the books because I down right pure love 'em. Everything about the books makes it so interesting and a page turner and I can never get enough. I love all the parts. But I guess what keep me reading more and more is the plot and the characters. I just love 'em!

I have read all her books... and I do mean all. I read this series because... -All her men are people that if I met in real life... I would either end up HUMPING THEIR LEG... or something more dignified that would end in the same result. -I want to be Edward when I grow up... ^^ -I want Sigmund -I like her theory of vamps/weres/etc than most others I have read
