...and it SUCKED! My mom rented the DVD, and we watched it on a car ride to the beach. WTF?!?! You never even find out that Brom's dragon was named Saphira! Then they make Arya and Eragon split up, but they went together to Ellesmera! And they always called it Ellesmere! Where's the 'a' in Ellesmera?

The elves didn't even LOOK like elves. Arya was shorter than Eragon! She didn't even have the pointy ears! Arya was a b***h, as well!

ARgh! Brom was the only character who LOOSELY stayed to the plotline. Where were the Twins? And Saphira needed a better voice. I'm sorry, but Rachel Weisz had too gentle a voice! Saphira needed someone who sounded more masculine, yet still distinctly female.

ARGH! The only thing I really liked about the movie was seeing Saphira hatch from the egg. But she grew up in SECONDS! I mean, SERIOUSLY! That NEVER happened in the book. She grew up alot slower!

And I really like the CAPSLOCK key. =D

And that's about it. So...add your comments here.

I think the movie was alright, but the book was still better. They made to many changes in the movie but it wasn't all bad...

Oh, and they left out some rather important details.

Movie was ok if you haven't read the book, then you read the book you make comparasions. I don't like the discription of brom in the book, I prefer Brom in movie. ^^

I read the book before seeing the film. and when I first saw it, I hated it. But now I like it. and I have it on DVD. I just see the movie and book as two different storylines. one similiary they have is that they're both titled "Eragon"

and I liked Arya better in the movie. I dunno...she seemed nicer. she seemed like a...as you said, in the books. being so mean to Eragon all the time and acting like a miss-know it all. she was better in the movie.

Your should watch the Deleted Scenes and Stuff. wink

I know I thought it sucked too.
It's quite sad.

In the Delted Scenes they had Scenes like, Katrina flirting with Eragon, then all of a suddon Roran procalims their gonna run away with each other.
And there was the Twins, but they were stupid
And he blessed the child, but made it look like some witch craft voodoo. O.o

Oh and they said they may add pointy ears and Urgal horns in the up coming movies....

LOL. That would have been wise... but I was curious to see what the movie was like, seeing as I liked the book a lot.

Unfortunately, now that I think about it, I don't see any reason that would keep them from continuing the trilogy on film. At first, I thought that I had some solid stuff that would keep them from doing so, but now that I've watched the movie a few more times, I'm having some doubts to my logic.

When I saw it in the theatres, it had seemed like Eragon didn't get his scar from Durza, and if he didn't recieve, they wouldn't have been able to continue, but after I watched it when I got the movie for Easter, I saw that Durza materialized his sword, and he flipped of his mount, and sliced Eragon diagonally across the back. That would have made just a normal wound, if it hadn't been for the fact that the sword was still glowing red when the blow was struck. Eragon still got his scar, as far as I can tell, but he just hasn't felt it's effects yet.

Another thing that I had noticed, like some other people above, was that at the end of the movie, Eragon and Arya went their seperate ways. My first thoughts were that Eragon wouldn't be able to complete his training, because he could only get into Ellesmera while accompanying Arya, but now, watching the movie, I realized something that neutralizes this evidence: they never say in the movie that Islanzadi had Du Weldenvarden protected by magic. Eragon could still travel to the Elves to complete his training.

One last thing that I care to mention at this time is that the Ra'zac were supposed to live, seeing as Eragon, Saphira and Roran go to Helgrind in the Third book to kill them, the Lethrblaka, and to save Katrina. Brom had killed one of them in the movie, so I thought they would be able to continue now. Then, it happened to me that there is the possibility that the other one survived. After all, it never showed it dieing, only that Eragon had used Kvista to pull it away with a branch. It could very well still be alive. And, assuming that the Ra'zac do not have genders in the movie, they might be able to reproduce without a mate. In this, the possibility of there being Lethrblaka and two more Ra'zac still exist.

I'm not saying that I'm thrilled with Fox for what they've done, but merely pointing out that they are Fox, which means that they will do anything they can to make a profit (which includes finishing this Trilogy, horrible as they're making it out to be), and that there are still ways for them to continue with making the movies despite what they have already corrupted.

um, somehow i don't think they can cram months worth of dragon-growth into two hours... I know the movie wasn't fantastic, and it strayed from the book story lines (especially with Galbatorix and the twins). But quite a few of these plot points (such as the Roran/Katrina, Twins, etc) were covered, but were in scenes that weren't completed in the film. As for sequels, I've heard a rumour that they're considering shooting the next film sometime towards the end of this year..

don't get me wrong, i thought the movie was a touch... bad... to be put nicely, but i would still be interested in seeing how they continued the story line... as for the baby dragon... 4laugh I want one! xd 3nodding
